Thank You.... this is literally the video I've unsuccessfully been looking for..... this goes over the info I wanted.... how to navigate the fountains and whatnot...Thx
You’re very welcome! I’m glad it’s helpful. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the video. We will be on this ship next year. (I too can relate to the bar staff not being enthusiastic about serving the Bubbles customers. but I found a few bucks go ago way.)
Thanks for watching!
You're 100% correct about getting soda at the bar. So irritating
Great Video! Thanks for the breakdown.
You’re welcome! Glad it was helpful!
Thank you! This answers most of my questions. The only other one was do they serve (in cans) Caffeine- Free Diet Pepsi (it's listed on Carnival's BB site that they do) also do they serve Mountain Dew Zero Sugar (in cans) - The site does NOT show that, but Diet Mountain Dew is not as good.
I've never tried to order either of those nor have I observed either so I can't help with this. I'm cruising in March so I will try to find out for you! Thanks for watching!
@palaemon I forgot to look for these for you onboard, but I happened upon a this list which claims that they have Caffeine-Free Diet Pepsi but they do not have Mtn Dew Zero Sugar. help.goccl.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/6519
I want the coffees and smoothies package but they don't have those yet.
Not a drinker so cheers isn't worth it.
I believe that at the coffee shop Java Blue they have another soda dispenser
There is a drink station at Java Blue, but not a soda fountain :) ruclips.net/video/zWDH7ifGLwU/видео.html
All of my fountain soda was free with my drinks in the casino offer also!!!
Not all of us get casino offers lol... but good point!
Do they not include a tumbler? When I went on an Alaskan Cruise on the Miracle about 10 years ago, a tumbler was included with the bottomless bubbles.
Tumblers aren’t included. They’d already stopped doing that by 2017 when I went on my first Carnival cruise. You can buy them at the Red Frog and Blue Iguana bars and the fun shops.
Goid job. Thank you😊
Good content Lauren 👍
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
Water should be added. The reason they stopped allowing carrying on is to avoid people sneaking in alcohol. Water should be on any length cruise with both packages.
Water is included with cheers. Frankly, especially on Vista-and-newer, the tap water is the same quality as bottled - it’s extra clean because they need clean water for the onboard breweries.
They probably don’t include it with bubbles because then they have to stock a ton more bottles onboard which they don’t have space for.
@@laurenofalltrades Okay Thank you the response. It helps to see it from that angle. But they are prepared to be well stocked in Alcohol bottles.
@@kmcbride2988 Like for people with Cheers? There's a 15 drink limit so that's roughly only 22oz of liquor a day per person (a little less than one standard bottle of liquor) and it costs a lot more. Something like one free water per day would be nice and reasonable. Put it in your post-cruise surveys, they might consider it!
.50 service charge, without the package. Carnival, have you no shame?!!!! Absolutely no shame, just greed.
Ugh, yeah. Service charges for self-serve beverages aren’t a good call.
Thanks! You answered my questions
Glad to have helped! Thanks for watching!
I was hoping for some info (although it’s a little to late because I’ve already booked the Mardi gras lol)
I’ve been on multiple RC ships. The Mariner pre and post renovation, and the oasis twice.
We wanted to try the Mardi Gras’s simple because it’s something different. Your soda package video was very informative and I was curious if you’ve sailed any of the RC ships and felt like you had at least as good of a time on the Mardi gras?
Thanks for watching!
I've only been on Oasis and Grandeur (once each) for RCL. I found Grandeur to be boring compared to Carnival and Oasis to be about equal but in different ways.
What I love most about Carnival is their themed and general trivia throughout each morning/afternoon, multiple comedy shows every night, and (esp. on Mardi Gras) the variety of different free food options. There's a lot more to do that just that - that's just what we like about Carnival vs other cruise lines. Aside from the (for-fee) roller coaster, MG doesn't have unique stuff to do like Oasis does. But I like you'll like it just fine.
Just a head's up, every time you're heading to dinner, find the restaurant in question in the Carnival app and click the button that indicates that you want a tab;e (I forget what it says). If you don't the hostesses will make you do it before they'll give you a table lol. Oh this is also needed for brunch and breakfast in the dining room and/or lunch in Cucina and Chibang.
@@laurenofalltrades thank you very much. We’re just a little nervous about trying a new crusie line.
I’ve kept seeing that if you’re not in line for the evening shows in the theater an hour before that you won’t get a seat. Did you experience anything like that on the MG?
I lack expertise in this area because we rarely opt to attend the theater shows over other evening entertainment (usually the stand-up comedy). I did experience there being an issue with getting a seat for one show on Celebration because of the event space they used. Carnival didn't logistically have the ability to kick everyone out from the first show of the night and then a lot of people for some reason stayed for the second one (rudely and strangely bc it was the exact same show).
If you're signed up for "Your Time Dining"/anytime dining then you should try to go to the earlier shows when more people are at dinner.
@@laurenofalltrades thank you again!
I stopped buying the Soda package years ago for the very reason you mention. Hated being treated so rudely by service staff. I just bring a 12 pack and buy more at port. However, with the machines I am thinking of getting the card for my upcoming Cruise on the Jubilee.
The only thing is that they only have fountains in the buffet and Pig and Anchor. But you can still use it at bars and restaurants.
Thanks for watching!
Going back on the Mardi gras in April. Very happy they added the machines. This sailing I will be hitting my platinum on day 5. Will they consider me at the beginning of the trip as platinum or gold? I have heard mixed things.
When I went from Red to Gold and Gold to Platinum, the new status was honored on the cruise that earned said status. Theoretically, your boarding pass should say platinum which you can check after you do online check in. If it doesn't, you can try calling to have it fixed. If they can't help, Guest Services should be able to fix it on board. I'd wait till day 2. The line is always so long on day 1 for some reason. You won't miss much by waiting until day 2 :)

@Leewilly Have a great time! Thanks for watching!
how does the computer know when to stop charging the Sail and Sign with these machines?
note: I usually get the Bottomless Bubbles package anyways
You can only pour 12 ounces per 5 minutes. You can actually swipe more than once in the 5 minutes if you haven’t hit 12 ounces yet. There’s a countdown that makes people feel like they have to rush, but that’s not actually the case. I don’t know what the point of the timer is.
Does that answer your question?
If there's NO DR PEPPER! ATLEAST HAVE MR PIBB!
I think they have Dr. Pepper in cans at bars. Not as easy as at the fountain but you can get it!
Is the soda unlimited with the bubbles package? Also, what beverages are free? I'll be taking my first cruise in 2024.
Yes soda and juices are unlimited with the package.
Drip coffee, ice water, hot/iced tea, and lemonade are free all day plus some juices during breakfast hours. I show the selections in this video: ruclips.net/video/_6Q3JeRzNro/видео.html
The same are available at the corresponding meals in the dining room, just ask your server.
@@laurenofalltrades Awesome. Thanks!
I feel like they should add a bottle or 2 of water per day included in the bubbles. If it's longer than 7 or 8 days then I'll buy the bubbles. The Cheers is never worth it for us.
That’s a good point considering how much they’ve raised the price. It was only $6/day when I started cruising in 2017!
Thanks for watching!
Is Bubly Lime Sparkling Water
• Bubly Blackberry Sparkling Water included?
I believe the Bublys are not included in Bubbles package, but are included in the Cheers drink package. Thanks for watching!
$0.21 per oz. ??? That wild !!!
Are shirley temples included in the soda package?
Yes, Shirley Temples are considered to be sodas and are free with Bubbles or the same price as a soda without Bubbles.
@@laurenofalltrades awesome! My son will be happy to hear it. Thankyou!
We started bringing our own soda’s when they changed over to Pepsi products.
lol. Same. I pretty much don't care that they keep raising the price because it's Pepsi anyway. It pained me to pay for the package just to make this video 😆
@Derrick Wilcox RIght?! Really it's that Pepsi gave them a better price. Every time to go to Sam's Club I grumble about my Diet Coke costing more than the same quantity of Diet Pepsi cans 😄
Too bad they'll probably never switch back.
@Derrick Wilcox Sorry to hear that! Make sure you put that in the survey!
Is there any plain seltzer water in the fountains?
Sadly, no. Just water and sodas.
@@laurenofalltrades Thanks, I am hoping then at least at the bar they will count it as a soda and not a drink.
Such small cups. Even for paid soda to discourage you from multiple trips to soda fountain.
No sparkling water in soda pack ?
You can use your own cup or snag a pint cup from a bar. Its probably more bout keeping the ice machine from running out of ice.
You can probably get club soda at bars. I’ve never tried though.
HI with the soda package other then breakfast where can you get juice? thank you.
All the bars have juices as mixers so you can get cranberry and orange juice (at least) at any bar any time of day. :)
@@laurenofalltrades thank you
On the ships without the fountain machine, do they provide cans of soda at the bar or is it in a cup?
By default, I believe they give you an open can and a glass of ice. Depends on the server/bar you go to, some insist on opening them for you, and some will give you the can unopened. Assuming you're looking for unopened cans, I'd suggest politely asking if them to not open it because you're taking it across the ship and don't want to spill.
@@laurenofalltrades great advice. Honestly, if they open it that’s fine. Getting the bubbles for my 16 year old so just wanted to know what to expect. I’m sure he’d rather they give him the can (open or closed) rather than walking around with a glass. Thanks for the advice!
Can you use your own cup at the soda machine?
Yes! You just have to swipe your card, wait for it to think, and then it will pour up to 12 oz of soda.
@@laurenofalltrades thank you so much my dear so probably the best way to go
Do they have any diet caffeine free options on celebration?
Hi Joyce! Not on any of the soda fountains. They all had the exact same selection. I only ordered a couple of sodas from bars so I can't say for sure. I believe on other ships they had diet Sierra Mist (though Pepsi is now calling it "Starry"...???) so I'd expect bars to have it on Celebration as well. I don't think I ever spotted caffeine-free diet Pepsi.
Although - the soda package costs the same if you buy it on board as it is if you pre-purchase it. So if you're not sure, you can wait and see what they have once you're onboard! (Exception for if Carnival raises the price again between now and your cruise.)
Is this now on the horizon? I see this video was a year ago?
I don't expect any older ships will get the fountains because of the logistics of having space for one and running water and soda syrup to the fountains. They didn't even put them in on Venezia when they updated that ship.
@laurenofalltrades thank you so much! This video and your answe really helped me make a decision my cruise is in April 2024
@@moniquef1183 Happy to help! Enjoy your cruise!
“ and your sad soda”. If you tip they love you!
True! It's so hard for me to tip for sodas when they're already charging a gratuity. I do it about half the time. But mostly bring my own soda. :)
You shouldn't have to tip to get service
take this from a long time photographer, you need a much darker lipstick, your lips barly show with what you are using
Lol well I don’t usually wear lipstick. So…
(P.s. I’m curious if you’d have given the same unsolicited a advice to me if I was a dude 🤔)
What a strange comment. Lol
@@kycon13 RIght?! haha
