    That was like the save of the century. How did she stay on? Most girls would have slid right off.

      Id take 0.5 for the wobble cause she lifted her foot.

      Oh, so she should receive around 8.000 for this in the Olympics

      +Acro Jack Maybe, maybe even less. Depends on how harsh the judges are.

    aside from that first skill her beam routines are looking better and better than previous years. she is very consistent and rarely has a wobble every skill. she is more head strong and confident and i cant wait to find out if she is going to Rio

      No, I mean she literally has looked downright depressed since her comeback, and I'm not the only one who has noticed. Like everyone except for the few clowns commenting above have noticed.

    I know its "only classics" but am i the only one who worries these "upgrades" aren't coming? shes great but i feel shes capable of so much more, particularly on floor.... I feel she could be competitive with Simone if she would push the envelope a little

    • @deionteharrilla4079
      @deionteharrilla4079 8 лет назад +1

      I feel like she's waiting till PG champs and trials to push the envelope. Don't want to get injured before than

    • @msreeree1530
      @msreeree1530 8 лет назад

      I'm not saying the upgrades are not there, but you would use competitions like the American Cup, Jesolo, Pacific Rim, Secret Classic to see if you can actually perform these skills in the competition. I just don't see Marta allowing upgrades this late in the game. When Simone was having problems with that front flip with a half twist at P&G 's last year, Marta said if that skill didn't get more consistent, she would not be doing it in Glasgow. Hey, but I could be wrong

    • @mocneeuq
      @mocneeuq 8 лет назад +1

      What upgrades do you think she'll still have on beam? Her dismount is not even consistent so I doubt she can throw a Patterson or full in

    • @cice0143

      she is capable of more, butshe probably lost some of her confidence and needs people to believe in her again.

      +cice0143 Why would she lose confidence she's the second best gymnast in the world?

  • @withlove312
    @withlove312 8 лет назад

    If she would just get rid of that stupid non-switch ring I could get behind this so much more - that and fixing her switch half and slightly odd loso.

      That's not the point, some people are very knowledgable in gymnastics whether they competed in the past, or learned for videos, the COP, or coach. Yes, this wasn't her best routine but people are entitled to give their thoughts in the comments. Skill has nothing to do with it, but knowledge of the sport and apparatus does.

  • @yuchenliu2097
    @yuchenliu2097 8 лет назад

    Switch half and the switch ring would be severely penalised. She can get rid of the switch ring. 0.2 loss in D-score, but cleaner

    • @rdg___
      @rdg___ 8 лет назад

      She's receiving credit for it/has always received credit for it/will probably always receive credit for it. The most they can do is credit it as a "D" skill instead of an "E" skill if she has a particularly bad one, just a .1 loss in difficulty value. Right now the judges are probably taking a deduction for the lack of arch in her back, but that would be about it because her foot is close enough to the level of her head to receive credit and her head release is pretty good and most gymnasts back legs do not reach full 90 degrees (i.e. Mustafina). While it's not the best, it's good enough. Same with her switch half. She doesn't reach the full 180 but it's just a tenth deduction.

    • @yuchenliu2097
      @yuchenliu2097 8 лет назад

      ***** I agree with you on the change leg ring. I don't think the D-panel is looking for a 90-degree back leg as long as your back leg went beyond your head. Actually Mustafina's worst element on her beam is also the SR lol.
      She already has DCC dance difficulty in her routine. Adding a SR boosts the difficulty, but an at least 0.1 deduction plus the possible wobble just seems to risky for me.

    • @yuchenliu2097
      @yuchenliu2097 8 лет назад

      ***** lol her change leg half seems to be better in slow motion. I thought it would be a .3 for her insufficient split but you are right. It's actually a .1

    • @rdg___
      @rdg___ 8 лет назад

      She typically doesn't wobble on the switch ring but, well, it's Gabby on beam lol. She tends to be totally on or really off (I was actually impressed with how well she recovered here). This routine could be killer for Gabby if she could actually hit all her connections, with a possible 6.6 d score but I doubt she'll ever get full credit.
      As for the switch 1/2, it's one of my least favorite beam elements (along with the front pike) as most girls don't hit the 180. Which reminds me, since we mentioned Aliya and that her switch ring isn't the best on beam, I actually think she does do one of the best switch 1/2's. Nastia had a pretty good one too (coincidentally she also had a not great switch ring lolol).

    • @yuchenliu2097
      @yuchenliu2097 8 лет назад

      ***** Yeah, you can see in London how well she performed in AA and TF, hit everything. It's literally risky to perform E+ acro elements (in her case, front pike and the back tuck 1/1) on beam anyway. I don't think she will get her 6.6 since the two D+As are unlikely to receive credit in this quad, although it's in the code lol. But adding a full spin after the full with leg at horizontal and making it a 6.4 is definitely within reach.
      Chinese girls produce some best SRs in the world but other than that, I think the American's and Russian‘s are all a little bit messy.
      Mustafina does have one of the best switch half in the world. High and sufficient split and she connects onodi after that. Plus her beautiful double spin on beam is impressive
