Great actor and Riz has always come across as a nice guy. Complex and humble.
    Superb interview, as always.

What a thoughtful, reflective & smart human. He even got Janielle to be less annoying and almost seem more grounded. Her recycled questions actually made sense and her awkwardness didn't distract from Riz and the interview. I also appreciated his artistry and willingness to share his thoughts, feelings & process. There is something so accessible about him and yet with a class or dignity that feels royal. He is like a quiet storm. I wonder how much of his Muslim faith makes him so clear and powerful. He commands attention and strength. People talk about differences between American actors and Europeans & I think we just experienced it through his British actor, rapper, activist and Pakistani culture vibe. I'm at a loss to compare an American actor in his late 30's that shares his depth. Uh John David Washington? Rami Malek? Nnamdi Asomugha? Thank you for this interview. Sound of Metal is an extraordinary movie. It states that it is not based on a true story. But, it feels real. Opening a window into a world of deafness, addiction & heavy metal. There is grief & pain throughout instigated by loss, but weirdly these characters discover or expose a deep acceptance or dare I say it kindness to each other through a myriad of crisis. Wow. In the current covid-19 reality & the last 4 years, this film seems like a refreshing glimpse into hope & it doesn't have to be so destructive or inhuman even. And Paul Raci is brilliant. No other words. He has a gentle patience and just enough motivating push for Riz' s characters struggle with learning to be deaf and adapt to his new community. By far, for me, Paul should be nominated for best supporting actor & should win. And, a request, can this actor finally begin his movie career? -he is a national treasure! Offer him roles Hollywood... he's amazing. Riz's work also feels like what sandy ( Meisner) use to call the definition of acting- the ability to live truthfully under imaginary circumstances. Look, in the beginning of the film- he was so real- I wasn't sure I liked him- I don't like heavy metal- but it didn't matter- I learned just as much about myself, as I did about him through his work, in this profound film. The writing and directing are untouchable. It is realized & complete. Bravo. And thank you to the cast. Well done.

      Well..
*My two-cents thus far is that:* Ms Janelle Riley of Churnalist PMC® is actually a go-to favourite for SAG-AFTRA®.
It helps that both of them are already familiar, so there's the question of experience.

he sorta looks like my dad and my cousin when they were younger, even though we're eastern Asians, he's southern Asian.
the problem to tenderize yourself is that, even though your mind had realized how it would work, but the more you tell yourself to do that, the more you might end up even more intense.. just like you can tell yourself as much as you can to have the faith, to take the leap, but the reason you try to tell yourself that, is that subconsciously, you know you're actually lack of it.. like people tend to prove harder how perfect their relationship with their partners is, when they actually already sensed the hint that there are some unsolvable problems between them and their relationship is going down.
hahhaha "we thought it's an acting face.." 😂 i guess people might have certain kind of face while learning drums. i remember the drummer in my school band had a "math" face while he drumming, his face always looked like he was doing complicated math in his head. it actually looked quite funny. we asked him, you look distracted, what's going on in your mind? he said, I was just counting beats...

I actually sleep with a fan, It helps me fall asleep. I don't like complete silence. I need some sort of background noise.
