Engineers: What if the panels moved when it booted?
Execution: *annoying high pitch motors*
That's gonna be the cheap plastic gearboxes rather than the motors.
You guys should do an updated lighting tutorial. Your lighting in every single video is just absolutely incredible!
He does explain how he manages in such a small room in an earlier video. Including tips on how he does lighting and shots.
Nick Schafer Yeah I saw that! Really enjoyed it. But a dedicated updated lighting tutorial would be sick!
As pretty as that is, as time goes on, I just keep going for smaller and smaller cases D:
On the contrary my cases keep getting bigger and bigger. Radiators need space though.
No-name mATX case -> CM Elite 333 -> NZXT H440 -> Define R5 -> Enthoo Luxe -> Dark Base Pro 900
my cases keep getting larger as well. just picked up the view 71. was tempted to save up a little more for the view 91 though.
It's a space problem for me D: This office/studio has no room for anything that won't fit on the desk T_T
mine getting bigger to, No-name ACER mATX case ->Thermaltake core v1 -> NZXT h200i -> h400i -> h700i. DONT ASK ME WHY I BOUGHT ALL NZXT H SERIES CASES
i can understand that. my current desk is 6 feet by 4 feet. so i have little space after the 6 screens and enormous case.
I would give it a “Dam Innovative Award” when DeepCool makes this into a Micro or a Mini version!!
I would actually really like for them to have made something like that has a built in 360, like the genome did.
then get yourself the Tristellar. Basically this but only 3 sectors and it only supports Mini ITX
The tristellar is what you're looking for.
@@CallanElliott except the tristellar looks ugly compared to this
Maybe I'm just too vanilla but I much prefer the standard atx layout and the value of a simpler assembly.
Dingus I agree with u bro
My Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ATX TG Flow Edition looks cool enough for me, but I get what you mean, friend.
Michael Gusevsky, "beck and call", not "back and call". And no, even if I was rich, I wouldn't get this. It's ugly, and would take up most of my desk. I wouldn't have room for the 3 monitors I have, just one little 19".
Dingus i agree
🙂 yup, a big cheap old boring open tower case for a Full ATX motherboard, front mesh, dvd drive, front and rear generic case fans, yay! 🐢😍
I actually own one of these and it has been probably the best case I have ever owned. It actually does support a 360mm radiator, you just have to remove the metal panel the front fans are mounted on. However, I use a 240mm because I don't need something that big for my Ryzen 9 3950X.
It has a lot of space inside for custom loops too and airflow is perfect. I have only had the front panels open once or twice due to heat but it was a very hot day and I was pushing the GPUs I have inside the case.
The RGB display on the CPU and RAM is all about placement. How you angle the case. The case has to be to your side, you can't have it straight on if you want to see anything.
Also if you think far enough ahead when connecting your cables, you would really have fully populated all the SATA ports on your motherboard with cables and fed them through to the drive bays. This is the point of this case to add additional drives, and I have 6 installed, you should only have to remove the drive bay panel and connect to the cables you have already installed. I have only had to remove the GPU compartment when initially setting up the PC and when I added a second raiser to connect my BlackMagic capture card.
You also don't have to remove the GPU paneling to get to the 240mm AIO CPU cooler or to access your RAM. I have upgraded from 32GB to 64GB on my X570 MB by simply removing the glass panel. There is enough space to get things in and out. The only time I will probably have to open things up again is when I get a PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD, but will probably only need to access the CPU compartment.
You still own this case?
Deepcool
One of most Underrated brand
They have pretty good stuff yknaw
I love how he is not totally hyped about the design and is really practical in the review approach.
We really don't
We do, maybe not like this one, but we need new original unique and innovative Case designs other than the minimalistic black square with a window on the side
The title seems deliberately tongue in cheek...
True regarding the title, but as we know, most on YT will fail to understand that :D
😂😂
You must be one of those who own a generic basic rectangle case.
The filters in the front are accessed after the machine is on. Using the wifi app on your mobile device, you select “open” for the front panels, allowing access to the magnetic mounted filters.
I’ve been living with this case as a daily machine for about a month now. To be honest. I’m loving it. I was really nervous about temps to start with. Always monitoring the internal temps through both the mobile app on my iPad, and via the Corsair link software on the desktop. It runs near dead silent, with the only source of noise or humming being from the Corsair ram cooler that came with the vengeance lpx kit, and an old hard drive that I tried using as extra storage, failing miserably.
Yes, I had to remove the front fan to fit my Corsair h150i pro aio rad in, because I have a Titan Xp up top. I did find the lack of any extra pci-e risers annoying, as I’d like to have had the elgato up there too.
Another little annoyance, is the led lead that goes from the arduino to the hdd cage. After the system is built, adding any extra drives requires more work than you’d think. Because the lead for that led on the SSD mount, is short. It has to be unplugged from the arduino before you can actually remove the cage to give full access to everything. I was also unable to use any standard sata power cable with that particular ssd Mount, from my Corsair rm1000i PSU.
Internal temps are stable, not to mention ridiculously low, air flow is impressive, noise is a non issue, it hasn’t come close to internal temperatures requiring the automatic activation of the front flaps and ramping up of the fans. So it just lives on standard fan speeds, with the rear set to silent, to create slight positive pressure.
All in all, I’m very satisfied with it. Though, the glass panels terrify me. When they snap back, it’s like they’re either going to crush a finger, or shatter. But they don’t.
No we don't
right
Yes we do
agree.looks crap....
It's a niche case and theres a market for it. People who don't like it should stop pretending like everyone wants the same shit.
We do, to move away from the traditional square box. The Quadstellar is loaded with structural and user XP disappointments but at least it's style is refreshing.
-D.
Make the case larger, and put the CPU socket behind the middle button of the case, and have cooling behind it, also make air flow go in in all 4 direction flows of the front spring panels. Allow 2 motherboards, 4 SSD displays, 8 RGB 1080ti's, and Liquid Cooling, and revise from there in our opinion. Also wireless charging stand to mount underneath the case, instead of the case being table bound.
yeah we totally need more 400 dollar cases.
LRK007 100%
Yeah especially with plastic in parts that we think are glass and fingerprint magnet material
For 400$ I would get an awsome LEGO PC Case with cool lighning and Lego Mindstorm functions
LRK007 if other manufacturers will make more cases like this, maybe it'll go down in price. Pricing aside, I really love the aesthetics of this case. Not really a fan of the layout tho. Perhaps a gullwing solution would be better? That said. Im gonna stick with the phanteks evolv
Hey so those dust filters behind the flaps are just held by magnets they are removable. You might need the leverage of a small standard screw driver.
Eyes up Guardian!
Most thorough review on this case. You seem to be the only one who knew the glass comes off, and the app works on 2.5 Ghz band. Good Job!
It reminds me of the omen x case
wait so what you pointed out was to see the temp differences, however there was no comparison or showcase of it.
What I as a pc user/builder am concerned about isn't how difficult it is to mount and to populate the case, however how air efficient it is even with those issues aforementioned.
So what about the temperatures? Open vents vs closed? You already built the system in there. Why not run it through a couple tests?
As weird as it is, I'm glad to see at least one company trying to be different. I think it has potential (I wouldn't buy it personally, but I feel like somebody might). Things I would want:
360 rad support in the mobo and GPU chamber (as you mentioned)
Dual tempered glass on each chamber (maybe except the bottom two panels) so you can see things from more angles.
Magnetic dust filters (as you hinted at)
Perhaps a chamber for a reservoir? Thinking about it it would probably end up either next to the motherboard (only partly visible at best) or the GPU chamber, meaning the GPUs would have to be back in the main chamber.
Perhaps the power supply could be moved to the drive chamber, I think that for as limited of a market as this is, not many people are going to have more than 3 3.5" drives. That, or move some of those drive bays to the current PSU chamber and make space for a res.
I do like that all the screws are removable (from Paul's review).
I would love to see a cuboid modular case with air flow separation that you can assemble like Lego to meet your needs.
This shape looks inefficient, and the price must be high because of that 400$....
It's again style vs usability...
Where the usability, and function is secondary.
To me it seems a case you'd spend time building a larger SLI system in with a lot of storage, one that you don't plan to upgrade anytime soon as is my case whenever I build. I'm a bit of a modder too so case issues like the mentioned PSU chamber features don't bother me at all as I'm a fabricator so I'd be happy to just make panels and brackets anyway. I would personally use this case but I just did my new build in the Thermaltake View 71.
This case will allow me to build a PC that will handle 2 people gaming simultaneously. I am unsure however if I will be able to fit a 480mm rad, but I will try with doing a bit of modifications... I'd definitely sacrifice simplicity of building for aesthetics. In the end of the day, it catches the eye and if I was to go on a LAN Party with this (will be a bit of a challenge!), some people will be shocked to see the front panels open.
Always a fan of your photography and editing. Keep up the great work on your beautiful videos!
Nice case despite installation shortcomings. However, how often will the average user be swapping parts after a high-end initial build? The case can be improved for accessibility but remember it's not a work bench ☺️.
As a general style guideline, a half version would have been really awesome (a mid/full tower that has 2 of those leaves vertically would be pretty cool and it would have a pretty standard interior for less stress during installation),
It's amazing, but it's a huge pain to build or change. Stripping it down every time took way to long. The motors on the front are really loud too. It has good support for custom water cooling, but not so much closed loop. I still fit both in though.
Nice review Starlord
With the modularity of the case (the fact you can completely tear it down) will probably get some modders interested in making it "compatible" with 360mm rads. I'd love to build a threadripper system in this bad boy!
I have always preferred ITX cases. One day I will splash out and get a case like this but while I still do a lot of traveling and don't have a permanent place of residence then I will keep with the small form factor. It is certainly a unique case and I hope it promotes innovation in the chassis industry.
I am addicted to open cases these days. Love the easy access and air flows. This does look cool tho
You NEED to review the Enermax RGB fans. Something as simple as a compare of thermals vs other RBG fans would be incredible.
I would've preferred the front panels to be dark tinted tempered glass with options for installing lighting elements or LCD's behind them. To give room for creativity with our builds. And definitely would want the panel motors to be silent. Those sound like the cheap motors you would find in toys back in the 80's. It's great to have a unique case, but you still need to leave room for buyers to add their own unique creative touches. That case is most definitely innovative, but it doesn't leave any room for creativity by the user, which would probably be a deal breaker for me.
Alienware had that sort of mechanical chassis boot flare on startup as well (fins at the top flared up twice). The motor was way quieter than the one on this case
It looks great on the outside and it's nice that they are thinking outside the box with the design, but it just seems too hard to work with. What about their Tri Stellar case.. doesn't that fit a whole ITX board in 1 segment? Seems like an easier approach, I think I'd rather see them update that
Kind of reminds me of Dog from Half-Life 2
i dont know about other brands but msi has an app too and its actually pretty good! yea ok is not a case manufacturer but u get my point! i was expecting more from a case like that! dust filters look awful >< i mean come on its 2018 magnetic dust filters are a must i believe! otherwise non will disagree its a unique case and we pay for it plus the moving front temp thingies!
That is SERIOUSLY Kick Ass looking!
So where's the performance test? Was interested if the motorized panels gave additional ventilation or just for looks. Was also interested if compartmentalized cooling has pros or cons.
honestly, i like the case lol. maybe with like clean mirror panel not smoked ones it would be better..you could see the inside if you set it up on the left side of your desk. i am all in on this case tho. haha but i was wondering what is that AIO cooler ..it looks cool.
the case is interesting, but not practical for people that value functionality above style. for modders this can be a nice challenging canvas.
a lot of people hate this case but it still has a lot of potential, drill some holes for watercooling, cut some panels open, make custom glass with glued magnets, well just let your imagination run wild
What AIO is in that thing? it **looks** amazing.
yes, 100% agree. It look very extraordinary, among an ocean of box-liked case
i love the hard drive area... shame its not glass in the front to show off with more RGB... and just making it slightly bigger would have allowed for nice triple liquid cooling radiators on each fin.... soo much potential... yet not exploited.
I'd love to see some OLD-style designs revived and modernised, like the more expensive SGI cases (adjusted sizes, of course). BTW, are there templates to model a case of my own design?
1 000 000 subscribers coming soon🔥🔥🔥 well deserved Dmitry :)
With watercooling being so prevalent nowadays, you would thing that more than a 240mm would be a thing here since the case is so large. Price point here is absurd. But it is innovative and has potential if they "Fix" the things you reviewed and mad at least 360 rad support. I mean there are huge cube cases out there that support 480 rads in multiple. Still I like the design of it.
That thumbnail is gorgeous
Good to see E.T.’s space engine found its way to your review table.
I'm thinking of going DIY so am one of the few who actually really found this video useful. Some great ideas here!
Well honestly, being the nomad I am, I prefer compact cases.
I've build my system on a Phanteks Evolv ITX which is amazing but makes me feel it's too bulky for the life I live moving from place to place.
I think manufacturers should focus more on compact cases like that amazing Node 202 or The Sentry :D
I understand what you're thinking. "Hopefully, something that looks this cool at a glance will encourage other case makers to spice things up a bit!" But if this $400 monstrosity can only be called an "innovative disappointment", then I don't think it's going to do that. What we NEED are cases that are not only aesthetically innovative, but are designed well enough to show everybody that you can have something that will turn heads without making major sacrifices in basic functionality.
The only reason I would buy that is the absolutely incredible amount of storage space. Like seriously, that's like half the size of a normal case only for hard drives.
I mean HP had a good case like this called the Omen X Chassis. Not sure if you can get a new one anymore though. I wish i did while I could of.
Hey, Chris Pratt.
Did this case remind you of your movie, "Passengers"?
😂👌
We do not need more gloss or plastic or huge cases, but we do need more variance in the appearance of computer cases. That I do agree with.
i was hoping for some input on cablemanagement since I just built one myself. now I'm thinking about how to manage all the cables. but I see you didn't bother at all ^^
What a gorgeous case! Aluminium frontpanels, little larger glass panels (or smaller frames) and mounting holes for 360 rads (holes! slots are ugly!) and it would be an absolute overkill case. (Okay and some minor stuff like the dust mesh) But still! The look!
Von Neumann Machine there’s a special edition version of this case. Limited build. Look it up. It’s pretty wild.
Yep, looks awesome! But I guess its even more expensive...
I was really expecting some "intelligence" from the app, for example adjusting fan speeds or opening the inlets when the temperatures reach a certain threshold. Was this just not mentioned, or does it not have that functionality?
There is a lot of hate in here for this case. I own this case and would like to throw my two cents in. Its an amazingly spacious case, even with the huge glaring flaws of the 240 limitations. Separating the GPU into its own blade does amazing things for temps. The front blades are gimmicky, but its a not for everyone case. I loved it, preordered it. Its not like any other case I've ever worked in, owned, or even seen. This case is for the people who want to be different and not have to work too hard for it. Now for the real downsides that he didn't touch on, or he may not have encountered is the QA on the parts inside. My first one, the controller board for the RGB and fins died. The RMA, the PCI extension cable doesn't work. So in conclusion, if you love it, you are going to love it. If you don't, you won't. Just like a car. Some people buy a car to get to point a to b. Some of us choose and mod our vehicles to be extensions of ourselves.
Are you able to do a review of the tesoro gram xs now that you've been sponsored by them? It's been out for a while and still not many decent reviews are out.
To me, it's a very niche use case. Not many people are going to shell out that much on a case. The radiator mounting should have had slots instead of holes for more flexibility. I think they concentrated too much on wow and not enough on how.
I wonder if HWC is willing to delve into cases made by individuals. If there is a youtube channel that highlights scratch builds, I haven't heard of it. Kinda odd since I've seen some cool things happening in that sphere.
Perfect for a stylish ITX build
I love this case. I would probably never buy it, but I absolutely welcome companies to do something crazy like this with a case. I'm so bored of the standard plastic box with flat front panels and TG side panels. I fee like 90% of cases these days, if you removed the badges, people wouldn't be able to tell them apart.
I kinda wish it had more of an airflow focus for the individual compartments.
i do really want to see more cases like this. It is a wonderful idea that is a great starter that could use some improvements. i think the price is very steep for what it is, however if it showed off all of my motherboard area with panels on i would probably get it.
I'm just wondering when cases are going to start offering wall mountable options. A VESA mount case or something. I'd also like to see cases as furniture, meaning they blend in and compliment your decor instead of a big black blinking time machine. Anything, just something different...but not a space ship lol. But kudos to Deepcool on thinking outside the box.
Pando Lian Li already has a wall mountable case.
Wes I should have known they'd do it. I'll have to check it out. Thanks.
I found a $600(U.S) Omen X case at the dump the other day. I love the look of this case but think I prefer everything about my new Omen X more :)
Dang, you know I like the Conquer 2 cause it's unique. But it doesn't support big air coolers like the Noctua NH-D15. And I like this case for the reason, but it has even LESS room for a cooler. I am very sad. :(
Review more wall cases..i want one, specially if it isnt HUGE but many sucks (for example, i know i cant manage to have an open one..too much dust i wont clean)
Deepcool: the name says it all, because this is the tacticool of computer accessories.
Amazing how something you don't NEED to buy still brings out the fucking complainers.
Josh Was just thinking that. Why is everybody so mad?
idk I like the inovative desigh, but not the price and some of the low build quality. Of cource it is not the perfect test rig to work with, but it is not meant to be one. It is a premium case for people who can afford it and most of them actually don't know what they have in their PCs when they purchase them, they just want to have a cool case with the best hardware. And I have to say it...the opinion of Dimitrii about the case is obviously mirrored in the comment section. This is very common thing among youtubers and their followers so I am not surpriced about people's reaction.
It's because they think everything has to be designed to please them and when it doesn't they bitch Haven forbid someone might have different taste in cases
Josh
Case and fan reviews are so lame, why is he doing them?
Way to personal, why do promoted video's about personal shit? He can better do a Yoga channel then this!
I'm not sure what you're trying to get at but i'm guessing you are confused.
Nice case! I like to see different ideas in case designs personally, too many PC cases are just bland boxes now. Thats fine for the main stream, and for function based systems, but something like this that is more interesting will allways have a niche market. That's what people need to keep in mind though it's a niche enthusiast case! For people who want something different. I doubt deepcool are expecting this to be a huge volume selling case. (Its a halo product)!
I love it .....But make it smaller could be kick ass if it was mini itx and smaller
good for you the Tristellar is this but Mini ITX and only has 3 sectors. However beware to pay a hefty $500 price tag
Yes and Yes. I love it. It would look so great on my desk. Nice vid, thx.
What liquid cooler is that? Awesome videos btw.
If i gonna spend $3000 on a computer youre damn right i want to get a case like this, looks beautiful, the boring minimalistic square pc case trend full of glass needs to stop, i have a lot of space on my desk to showcase some piece of art like this, nice video
We need more CaseLabs cases!!
once you have hit 400 you may as well go 500 or 550 and fix and add things like better motors/cooling/riser cabels etc. because the people with that kinda money to drop on a case probably have more to drop so...
Your videos are as always, incredible.
This is one of those PC cases that in 10 years we're gonna look back and say: "What the fuck were they thinking?"
I think it’s awesome. I also want my computer to stick out though. Why not when you spend so much money on it?
Think the case is quite interesting . Shame it doesn't really allow for adequate cooling though.
I would like more 90° cases. With vertical GPUs and top IO. These are way to scarce.
I want a case made of dust filters. With separate compartments to make it as small as possible.
Whats the name of the track you used at the beginning of the vid? Sounds awesome!
bump
Geez that thing is a beast. Your entire setup would need to be centered around the style of the case. Cable management would be a labyrinth. $400 bucks!? OAN Hi Dimitry
1:10 "all right so the quad sailorman"
Love the vids Dimitry ur the best.
I really want to see you building or designing a case and teach a thing or two for all case brands out there.
Can you please do a review on that CPU cooler.
I have the Tristellar and love it!
Can you please review the Azza Thor 320 case? i just got it and i love it
Your B roll is lit, cant say it enough!
if you have a huge desk i think its pretty cool
Make this your new personal case!
The dust filter in the front in removable they are magnetic
Love the concept, shame about the execution. You are right, it is great to see case manufacturers experimenting with designs because over the last few years the only major "innovations" have been moving the PSU from top to bottom and then including a PSU shroud (having tempered glass rather than acrylic is not an innovation and please do not get me started on RGBitis)
The idea of having the GPU in a separate chamber is interesting, I rather like it and would like to see other manufacturers trying it
AAAhhhhh glorious B roll......
I'd love a small version of this, maybe itx to micro atx.
the Tristellar did nothing for the market, doubt this will either
