The question of any one lucky enough to come in contact with Thomas Sowell's video's on this great channel is "What would Thomas Sowell do?". Political debate can end there. That is why I don't watch or read main stream (and yes, that means fox news too) anymore. I simply ask What would Thomas Sowell do?
Add Hayek and Bastiat onto Burke and Keynes and Marx onto Paine and it all makes sense today. The NEW vision forward is Burke and Hayek. BTW, like Milton Friedman said, we're not really an individual society but a family society.
So would Milton Friedman be the kind of person to tout that "radical conservative" rhetoric that Levin is arguing against at the end? If anyone came up with radical alternatives, from School vouchers to the negative income tax, it was Friedman. He even called himself a radical, and just watch his clip on UncommonKnowledge: "abolish, abolish, abolish". Seems to me there is place in the middle between Paine and Burke.
