Splendid gift! The Avatar UR is a smartly designed pen. Sleek, basic. I have it in "shiny black" with gold trim, and a 14k iperflex nib. It is an astounding writer, a modern flex nib that works!
Thanks for showcasing this Pineider pen with the feather-like clip which goes well with Noodler's Raven Black, one of my top 3 inks. So far, I have it paired with a Noodler's Raven Ahab. Gifted my sister with a bottle of Raven's Black, hope to have it grow on her with time as I have.
A beautiful pen . Reminds me of my Esterbrook Raven. Shame that ink isn’t in production anymore. I’m a big fan of tomoe river paper but I haven’t heard of onion paper before. Tomoe River paper is terrific but it’s very hard to find.
That certainly looks like a well designed and machined piece of kit. Love the matte finish, and a shout out for using a Noodler's Canadian exclusive black ink. (Spoliers: I am Canadian). 😇
1. So you don't object to the step-up from section to barrel while drawing? 2. Does it post? Magnetically, by any chance? 3. Pretty pen, thanks for the review.
That's a good question! There are usually "threads" at the end of a screw in converter where it should rotate. A push in converter will have a smooth end.
Wow, that is a very good-looking pen.
Sort of reminds me of a Visconti.
The guy who designed Visconti's made this company after he left Visconti. Good observation!!

That sounds like a gorgeous pen!
Love the sound while screwing it. 😁
It is a very satisfying sound.

Very nice!
Good review, glad you like your new pen. Happy New Year!
Thanks! Happy New Year to you!

It is a lovely pen. It was quite special to me.
Very handsome pen ... love its "stealthiness"! Looks like a pretty amazing writer, too ... enjoy!
It is such a great writer! Thanks!
I have an Avatar demonstrator. Love it. Light, sturdy.
👏

Beautiful pen!
😄
Awesome pen!! Love the clip. It's unique for sure!
I'm really enjoying it!
@@curatedavalon Does the nib flex any or is it bouncy?

The step-up doesn't bother me. It might be the way I hold the pen. It does post but not magnetically.
This is a rookie question: how do you know if a converter is just a push in instead of a twist in?
