The DOC opened up the interview with an apology... Now THAT'S what REAL men do... 👊🏾 This bro is truly legendary... 🙌🏾
So true!

That is missing from today’s society in general. Being respectful and honorable is now looked at as being a bitch

I'm 47 yrs old I will never forget when the formula came on and my ear has never been right since thanks D.O.C for all you gave us and still to give us sir 🙏
Born March 77 I feel exactly what u saying!!
I’m 46 and I’m right there with you man
Mmmhmmm I recall that day as well hearing The Formula.. Loved being able to grow up to NWA/Eazy E and then hearing Dre do Michelle, JJ Fad, Jimmy Z and DOC….No One Can Do It Better is definitely my favorite produced album by Dre.

When NORE is sober and asking poignant questions. And listening and pausing at the right times. Hits different.
Definitely 1 of the dopest interviews and has a lot to do with N.O.R.E not being 2 twisted !!!!!
They had to clean up now that diddy sold Revolt 🙃
This one of his elders he usually different with them than the peers that's dope of him

Not going to Lie BUT seeing The D.O.C receive this flowers has made me Happier than ALL the other numerous guests, I have seen on Drink Champs over the years! His story is pivotal regarding my own interest in Hip-hop & just witnessing his expression to me was priceless!

The biggest WHAT IF story in hip hop!
Have to agree. 💯
Dre is the Engineer...

It's the Diggy, Diggy, Doc Y'all...🙏🏾

That was one of the HEAVIEST STATEMENTS in MF HIP HOP! ..."Dre is the engineer... AND I'M THE DRUM!! DAMN!
If anyone deserves their masters and publishing , its the DOC.
"No one can do it better" is one of the best hip hop albums of all time! ..... Timeless classic
True
The D.O.C.!!! No One Can Do It Better was one of the CD's that every song was a banger! Especially The Grand Finale. ❤❤❤💯💯💯
WTFSB??? Portrait of A Masterpiece and Let The Bass Go are a billion times better than Grand Finale.
The song alone NO ONE CAN DO IT BETTER IS HARDER THAN MAJORITY OF TODAY'S MUSIC OUT THE BEAT DRE DID IS CRAZY STILL TILL THIS DAY.......
"When I hear a bass...."

D.o.c. been around for the best era of hip hop 3x....ruthless records, death row records, aftermath records! Damn!
D.O.C and Rakim are the only two I know who said the illest verses without curses.
They ARE the Mt Rushmore of Rap.
And as much as I'd like to include Paris on that, I already got Rakim once...
I have to constantly remind people of this when we are discussing GODS OF RAP/ HIP HOP
True. No One Can Do It Better & Let The Rhythm Hit ‘Em. Two absolute gems within one year. Unparalleled.
Thank U for that comp mane, hella thanks!
I'm 53 years young. And 8 drink champ fan!!! The D.O.C. was everything to me as a young girl in Detroit!!!! You made me feel like I can so anything with my favorite Rap song of all time "Funky Enough"!!! You look good Bro!!!!!!

P.A. DOWN!! WHATUP DOE!! I remember riding my bike around the hood with the D.O.C. on a cassette tape I stole from older sister playing loud as possible 9-10 years old on a walkman. Funky enough, the formula, the grand finale, the whole album was fire...
The Smokey Robinson of hiphop. One of the best writers in hiphop period.
Dam thats facts!
Damn that's hard. Never thought of it. That way
Real talk
Facts 💯 ironically DOC called Death Row "the Motown of the 90's!"
Great analogy bro. He is the Smokie Robinson of Hip Hop.
Met the DOC in 2012, and i must say, not only was i star struck, i was truly enamored with his humble down to earth demeanor. Such a truly respectful person.
I'm jealous!
It would be fly if D.O.C could use AI to his orginal voice and just drop albums. This man is a legend and has written so much and done so much. This is Drink Champs biggest moment bringing this man here and hearing his story. What a true legend and humble. 👊🏾
He already is
Already in the works the new world order is here..
That would be sooooo DOPE!!!!
I'll never forget 1989 and begging my mom to take me to the mall to get the D.O.C cassette. I'm proud to see him grown and doing his thing. Thank you, DOC! Can't wait for the documentary
I seen NWA at the Saginaw Civic Center in 87’ and D.O.C. OPENED for NWA, Too Short, & J J Fade and I went back and told my friends be on the look out for D.O.C.
I remember that tour vividly! I was in Tx. Mannnn!
Uhh JJFad😂
In an alternate universe, The D.O.C is the undisputed goat 🐐
Well said
It’s no GOAT conversation without him
🔥
Well dang it looks like I’m from that universe
You were talking about a 50 yo white guy from Louisiana or something, well, I'm a 50 yo white guy from Europe that heard the name DOC before I even knew the face or the music, when I got into hiphop in 1991 due to the props DOC got. After that, heard his music, learned about his influence and understood he was of major importance. I also got his Helter Skelter album later on. To now see him and listen to him on your podcast is seriously dope! Thank you and thank you D.O.C. for everything!
If DOC didn’t have that car accident he would be arguably top 5 emcee
I agree 1000%

Big respects to Drink Champs ...... When are we getting that Slick Rick interview ?
The D.O.C. is legendary even after his accident. I can only imagine what happened to him if he kept his voice. This man starting the interview with apologizing to Nore shows how down to Earth he is.
I truly believe there wouldn’t be an Eminem if this man hadn’t lost his voice. Dre would’ve went a different way. Things would be totally different
He says he doesn't have the money to do what he wants to in Dallas. But "his guy" (Dr.Dre) has made a BILLION DOLLARS. He should have at least 50 million.
He said Eazy widow own his publishing

people usually only give big money when they're legally obligated to 🤷🏿♂️
Thats nuts. He definitely shouldn't have money issues
It's getting funky enough....D.O.C. STR8 OG 💯

This man's skill was second to none!!! Only Snoop was more impactful as a rookie debuting.. crazy because their styles are very similar too . They could literally do it ALL . RESPECT to the DOC🙏💯💯
That's because he molded snoop and wrote some songs 💯
The DOC a real one. Held his own in the era called gangsta rap. And still to this day he's scribbling poetry that generates plaques & profit. Keep doing it o'so correctly kinfolks. 💪🏿💙
The Formula: Dre's greatest beat imo!

¹No One Can Do It Better
²Me Against the World
I CANNOT stop watching this interview. It's such a living commentary of people undoing the tendency of 'The Truth' often being buried under mounds of undeserving rubble. D.O.C. has always been that truth; and to see him being fully appreciated and acknowledged by the culture in a way he deserves feels amazing.
The opening of this interview is good for all of us to watch. DOC was trying to speak his truth on the apology, and NORE didn't want him to worry about it, but I would suggest you can tell him it's not necessary but acknowledge it, and tell him it's all love and you never took it personal. He needs to heal.
For all of us, when someone approaches you as a man or woman and is coming from a place of love, looking to heal, to show love back, acknowledge it in the moment and give them that peace. ❤️🙏
To me, in my opinion, he's on the same level lyrically as Rakim. I would have loved that versus
I don't think he is on the same level as Rakim lyrically. No one really is in my opinion, because he is the originator of that type of bars. But with that being said, D.O.C can easily surpass someone like Phife or Ludacris or Method Man. I would say D.O.C. being equal lyrically to Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap and Masta Ace, and that is a huge honor to be.
@@oraclejmt I agree to disagree with you. Have a great weekend.
@@oaklandsoldier8520 No arguments? I thought you would point out why you have that opinion. Or maybe it's just a matter of taste for you. Then fair enough. And have a nice weekend too.

I had to save this to watch later. I don't have 4hrs right now. I'm looking forward to this. Nobody Can Do it Better is such a good album. Out of all the hip-hop albums released in the 80s that I have heard, it's only behind PEs It Takes A Nation for me. I was born in 81, so I more grew up on 90s hiphop but it's an 80s gem.

The greatest thing about this Drink Champs interview is that it allows how his voice is today to be normalized. I thought it was sad because it thought when he spoke he may have been in pain but if he’s fine talking this way, he doesn’t need AI to do another album. Great insightful interview!!
