The charger went down in 6 railgun shots, not 11. 4 bounced off because it was in unsafe mode and 1 missed
And when he showed the second test, it was 4 shots not 3 to take it down.

I have taken out a regular charger leg in 2 shots with unsafe on, in the video the charger that was shown was a "berserker" charger because its armor was shaped like a axe, those spawn rarely and i assume have tougher armor which would take more shots.
@heavylegs5686 They arent . People did the test (on youtube) and they have exact same armor as the base variant . You just need to charge the gun almost to max now to get a two shot armor strip . Not sure its worth it when you are in a pinch . New best way seems to be the flamethrower(until they nerf it back I quess) . It kills the charger in a few seconds if you shoot the leg . Also , seems to be a weird glich? where you can shoot both his front and back leg same time if you stand close - and it just melts
@@shadowkhan422 so the armor strips off in unsafe mode in two shots like I said they did. The problem people seem to have is that now you have to charge it up longer. Seems like a skill issue lol.

Yo, the "Joel spots you completing too many missions without dying" hit a spot. When I am running missions like a boss, I will run into one where things are beyond wild. Had 5 bile titans sitting in a medium nest all clipped inside each other. When it turned and 4 legs tuned into 20 as they all slowly turned to face me I died laughing as I dropped dmy rail gun and 500kg and seaf artillery and prayed to Democracy!
When having to square up to madness like that, that's all you can do.
Arrowhead : if you want mech, then you have to get it. But you already knew that.

04:20 ok bit of a correction here; the first 5 shot are in Safe mode and they all ricochet so those don’t count. You need to put the railgun into Unsafe to be able to penetrate heavier armor enemies; so the exact shot to put down a Charger is 6 Unsafe shot
Or 4 unsafe in the paw and a machine gun guy firing in it for a sec will get it down. Its what we do in our group, even if it was two before patch and frankly, it was way to easy to take them out even in lvl 9. Happy they nerfed this because i was kinda frustrated to not feel treatened by them.
I would add to not forget that devs actively said that Helldiver is meant to be a coop game where you actually need to play coop. So a solo helldiver shouldn't be able to fast kill a charger like nothing.
@@madeizo Debatable . Did the Railgun deserve some kind of balance patch ? Yes. Is it possible to do a level 8 with randoms now ? A lot less then before , thats for sure . Not everyone has a team of friends they can play with .The other options are Flamethrower (kills you , kills your team , already heard the devs want to nerf it back ) , And a bunch of weapons that can deal with 1-2 chargers and then you have a long reload (so not great for solo play . Or for playing with randos that, at times, suck )
@@shadowkhan422there is EAT, spear, recoiless to deal with big enemy. Even EAT CD only 70 sec

I do play with random and i never use railgun or Shield and do fine in diff 7 to 9

Yeah I’ve been wearing the armor of the people (the armor with the passive that is a 50% chance to save you from death) it comes in handy with those automaton missiles just mind the fall lol

7:51, I've encountered this automaton invisibility. It's not fun to encounter...EVER!
Played with a group where we were finishing a level 8, we had 30 rare samples, around 40 commons and all 5 super samples. They were being carried by one guy for the convenience and a guy threw a 500 kg for the style points. He neglected to think that the person with all the samples had yet to get on and promptly became many pieces. I’ve never heard 3 people including myself go off so hard on one guy in voice chat in my life.
RIP. We had something similar where the Shuttle straight up didnt register when we got onboard . So we spent remaining time trying to make in unglitch by throwing stratagems at the stupid thing (with no success)

Have to say , they seem to have somewhat broken Shuttles with this upgrade . From not allowing you to get in (due to weird hitboxes) , to getting killed by meteors , to straight up not registering when you do come on board. WTH lol
The slugger was always an s tier weapon... One hit kills everything small. Medium goes down maximum in 2 headshots. You can even open up the closed container doors with it. I use it since I ulocked it. Absolute beast.
Handles like a truck though

So at 5:36. It looks like the one guy was about to call in something. I had someone call in an attack right on the ship, and it killed everyone inside making us drop all samples. So I can kinda understand trying to stop that.
Or he was just trying to call in something to just get a few more kills at the end which btw I do all the time

I heard rumors one of the devs called it " overtuned" after the patch . Not sure if its true but nerfs to FT wont surprise me (unfortunatly)
3:30, the charger healthpool is a bit high, but you don't need to kill it the railgun. Break the leg armor and dump your primary into the weak spot.

idont know why they had to nerve the railgun against charges .. it was never op against them, cause those fuckers can just zoom at you and to 90 turns without any inertia... especially when you get charged by 3-4 of them ..

Need to make helldiver armor out of whatever those drop ships are made out of neigh indestructible.
You can take the charger down in 2-3 rail gun shots unsafe mode to the leg following a few primary shots. Still really good. Tip, dont use another railgun shot to finish it off while there is alot of them, use primary or secondary
2-3 unsafe shots take twice the time it did before to shoot twice on a safe mod though . Also , can kill you and destroy the gun (if you are distracted by the rest of the mob) .So the nerf is pretty huge . Still usable , just not very reliable anymore
@@shadowkhan422 but now it's balanced, that's the whole point. It's still very usable. But yes its alot harder now and they should do a couple things to make it a little easier

Btw you can throw allies grenades back too….provided you have the time left and its not a impact grenade

the grenade in the door of a bot factory doesn't always work. threw in 3 and it still didn't destroy it
4:45 throwing grenades dow the vents isn't hard...but I use impact grenade's so I was happy when I wound this out last week because otherwise I'm not destroying any facilities
You want to know what's insane? They're going to reduce the enemy spawn and on top of that, Lower their hp, so chargers will die even more fast with the flamethrower.

Ok so guys, i believe i found the next meta for dealing with chargers! Its using the expendable launcher, one single shot already strips all the armor on the leg of chargers, and then just shot the flesh with anything else and he will be down in seconds!
Its good tacktick but the moment you get 3 charges its gg . What ive seen people do , is run flamethrower(fire in leg kills it fast, dont shoot up a slope while crouching - will kill yourself) or autocannon((shoot in the a** , wait for it to bleed out once its exploded) ) for charges, and Expendable for titans . Both rockets in the face usually kill the thing (enough that it bleeds out anyway)

Ive died sooo many times to meteors. And once to a metor setting off a nuke....sucks cause no way to safe gaurd yourself. On the flip side, it did finish a few objectives for me.

Voted down for the bad railgun clip where he clearly swaps to unsafe mode AFTER 5-6 shots.
In higher difficulty having different loadout to balance the team is important instead of all 4 bring railgun

Flamers always should have been this strong against chargers imo. Instead of ruining the only good anti-armor we had(railgun), they should have buffed all weapons to the current flamers level.

you can throw it in the wide open vents on top instead of waiting for the door to open
after the patch, my game broke and i cant play without crashing every 5 mins.
You could also destroy those bot bases by throwing a grenade in one of the vents above the door

I think that is a genius move with the rail gun
All they did was swapped the meta from railguns to flamethrowers against bugs… I’ll just play against the bots since I can show off my skills aiming for their weak spots… Bug is still a meta issue/running simulator, not skill.
Yet the so called hot fix may revert it all back ?
I love the meteor showers they look awesome but every time kts happened it started during extraction

I am enjoying the patch I dont see the problem. The only people who seem to be crying are the ones who just ran with one weapon since day one saying "You cant take chargers down" I have been doing that with the most lame weapons chill.
Railgun testing was not really accurate as the first few shots weren't even charged near full. It should be roughly 5-7 shots at near full charge to down a charger on its own. The player was only charging to roughly 80% it looks like. That's the risk of using a Railgun, it's a high risk, high reward weapon. The un-nerfed version of the Railgun was overpowered.
And didnt use unsafe Mode.
I agree with the unnerfed being OP, as a weapon that didn’t require a backpack, had 20 shots, and was far more powerful and versatile than any other support weapon, it was way overturned. However i feel like the nerf is a bit harsh. As now, im not sure if it’s even worth running (note i have only used the new version while solo or as a duo). Im not sure what else they could do, maybe making the gun itself do practically no damage and its only purpose becomes removing armour? Idk
@@deathvai364 The meta load out is still viable only that it's more harder to pull off in higher difficulties. I think a simple fix is just adjust the spawn of enemies in higher difficulties to compensate the lack of variety in the equipment we have currently. Once we get better gear they can up the spawns to see fit.

Beware: Chargers take alot longer to kill on higher difficulty. As shown at 0:42 this is Lvl 3.
Same health regardless of difficulty
Higher difficulties have 0 effect on enemy hit points. It increases their numbers and how many heavier armored units spawn.
