it's scarier then it looks lol. i was forced to get on because all my family got on. i literally saw my soul jump out my body lol. an my stomach lining felt like it fell completely out lol. good luck to whoever ride this
Freefall at SFMM was so thrilling when it was new. I was near the front of the line when Michael Jackson and his entourage were escorted to the boarding platform. Jackson watched a car drop, then turned around and walked away.
I didn't even know these still operated. I miss it. They had one at Six Flags Great Adventure, very intense and fun! Right at the point where you feel you are going to crash into the ground if curves.
WoW!! I haven't been on a ride like this one since I was a kid with my dad in the 1980s. It was at Six Flags Great America. It was called The Edge. It was unfortunately removed after only 2 seasons at the park in 1985 and I haven't seen one since. I thought these rides were truly all gone. I'd really love to ride one again as an adult with my sons.
When the Demon Drop was at Cedar Point , The speed it took you up was twice as fast than what you're seeing now and it there's more of a wait for it to drop once the car locks in at the top
I rode DEMON DROP in the late 1980s, at Cedar Point. At the end of my ride, the DEMON did NOT stop! Me and my fellow riders were shot over the entrance gate and into the parking lot! We were denied re- entry because we failed to have our HANDS STAMPED before leaving the park! WOW!
It's good to see these 1st Gen Freefalls in operation. Not many of them in the USA anymore. They took down the wildcatter in Six Flags Over Texas for a stupid Tony Hawk Ride which i'll admit was fun, but wasn't necessary to take it down.
Nathan Meeks yea we have the power tower, but i just miss the demon drop for the nostalgia aspect.. its been there since i was a kid and im 30 now and they took it out of the park a few yrs ago... i just liked the "carnival ride" feeling it gave.. more of a thrill when it feels like it could break at any point hahah
Didn't Six Flags in Dallas have something exactly similar to this exact ride? I'm pretty sure I rode something like this in the late 80's or early 90's and it was in Dallas. It was designed just like this ride. Not one of those drop rides where your feet dangle. Anyone know?
@@adriannasanchez I'm not sure. I just remember there was a ride there in Dallas that was similar to this ride. I was too young to remember the name of it.
These coasters had really rough (as well as bad) breaking systems. They would always wear down faster than most. When the ride stops, it actually hurts your back.
I rode the Free Fall ride at Magic Mountain back in the day when it first opened. I waited 2 hrs and I loved it too. Sorry to see it has moved on since. Cool video too.
Randy West Rode Demon Drop EST. 1983-2009 at Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio USA 🇺🇲 Moved From Cedar Point to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇲 Demon Drop EST. 2010 at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, Pennsylvania USA 🇺🇲.
I still miss this ride from Cedar Point. Such a fun Adrenalin Spike. now is it just me or did the cart go up the tower faster when it was at Cedar Point?
I really want to go on dominator and steel force. I went on this and totally hated it, I felt like my soul left my body. But i do LOVE rides like Hydra and Talon. So for all of y’all who have went on dominator and steel force, does this ride feel similar? Are the other rides easier then this one? Please reply ASAP!
Yep, that's definitely it, that's the one I went on with my mom when I was little. Right when we "dropped" I yelled oh shit the whole way down. Apparently my brother and pop were dying of "laughter" because they were standing in line and them/everybody else could hear me. 😬 Good times! 🙄
Really miss this ride....it was a first on and last ride when going to cedar point....I really miss seeing it right inside the gates...the sound the screams, everybody inline counting to 3 to time the drops...short ride but awsome non the less
The thing I miss about the current crop of drop rides is that shuffle at the top. You slowly move forward, building up tension. Then the click, down you go, and come to rest on your back. Nowadays it is just up and down. Yawn
If only they added a loop at the end. :( Can't wait to go this year XD! I already went to Cedar Point sad to ehar it got moved to Dorney but were close so ha but uuu Cedar Also owns Dorney, strange far away. O well. That's where they got steel force from, the other red tall rollercoaster at Cedar Point. Cool
Ahahah just went on it now for the comment. This ride is soooooooooo sketchy because of how old it is. You only have a sholder harness like it showed, no seat belt or no strap connecting to the harners and no shiny bars to hold which makes it really old and sketchy. Plus you go backwards for the start so it's like okay guess were going backwards which is still a strange feeling. Then you go up and it's weird seeing the track your going to ride in front of you. Then you get to the top, the view is awesome as always then you see a tire and your like wtf does that thing do, Then you see it starting to spin and your like ooo that brings ous forward for the drop. Then it takes a while to connect the cart to the track like a 1m or 2m. Than you drop. You don't get that much airtime like other drop down rides because of the friction im assuming but it's still fun. Than you slowly move on your back. The stop isn't as painful as it seems. Then you go almost upside down into the staion but the cart fixes upright. Then another cart in front of you comes in and your like o no don't hit us but of course it's designed not to but it feels like that because it gets so close. Then its seems longer to get off then the actual ride. Still it's worth every Penny! very Unique. Wish it was still at Cedar Point because i think it just needs a better destination for a ride like that. :)
I remember I was at Dorney I saw this ride (I was like 5 at the time) I looked at this ride and heard people screaming and looked at the height I was actually terrified

Without a friend this tome lol
I was there right with my cousin squad and I was like nah not scary then IL when. They was about to put us up I was screaming saying put me my brother becuz I scream FUCKKK or HOLY FUCKING SHIIIIIT
😡 Ive been on this ride twice two seperate trips there and each time I got an instant headache when it goes around that curve your head hits the back of the seat pretty hard. dont get on it unless you're done with everything else because you will be walking around with a headache for the rest of the day. trust me I learned the hard way. never again
rip: First generation drop towers ;-;. These rides pack a huge punch and are honestly horrifying, which is what i love about them
0:49 I WANNA GET OFF!
Hailey Coggs lol
I heard those words on another video with the same coaster 😂
I screamed that
Hailey Coggs lmfao
Never go by your self that’s what I did
it's scarier then it looks lol. i was forced to get on because all my family got on. i literally saw my soul jump out my body lol. an my stomach lining felt like it fell completely out lol. good luck to whoever ride this
Donisha Whitfield I find these scarier than Power Tower rides for some reason.
My cousin made me get on. I thought I was gonna die.
I loved it
Donisha Whitfield I’m thinking on going on it lol I went on the talon :P
Seriously? I was actually hoping for more. It was over too quickly.
The mechanics and track-work of this ride has always bewildered and fascinated me.

I bet he thought it was ignorant
Docktor Jim ijj
Free fall was was dope as a kid. It use to scare me but I always got on it. I miss that drop tower.
He turned around to walk away? No moon walk damn
My Heart was in my mouth by the end of this ride
Terria Scott mines to
MINE TOO OML
One kid scream I want to get off lol
was a great ride , rode it many times over the years at cedar point , glad to see it has a new home and not just trashed.
looks kinda fun but the track switching looks terrifying
Cool drop tower ride! Sad that it's not at Cedar Point anymore... 😀😀😀😀😯😯😯
U everywhere
Yeah I see you literally EVERYWHERE are you some kind of RUclips god that's on every single video?:)
Uriel Galindo I may be one of them.

there was one in my "home park" beto carrero world but it was moved to parque does elefantes in sao paulo
i have no reason why it was moved to there
It looks like fun but I'd probably freak out when it lays down
Me to
This ride is under rated! I rode it like 3 times when I went to Dorney last summer!

@Furber Weber You probably mean Giant Drop. But I think The Edge was were X-Flight currently sits actually. Man oh man the memories though!
Then head on down to Allentown Pennsylvania my friend...

Rode both many times, Demon Drop felt much more intense

@@brandonsavitski that’s ok. I also have memories of rides that I did but forget the names🤣
I remember 'Stuntman's Freefall' at Six Flags Great Adventure.
That was an awesome ride. Miss those days lol
Amen.
Where is the ride now ?? Their Scwartskopt Enterprise is in Florida now
Love this ride. Wish they still had it at Great Adventure.
Wait I thought it was originally at Cedar point?
@@Mooseguy15 Cedar Point might’ve had it 🤷🏼♂️. Just remember it at GA throughout my childhood in the 90s.
On 0:48, the girl says, "I want to get off!" 😄

These coasters had really rough (as well as bad) breaking systems. They would always wear down faster than most. When the ride stops, it actually hurts your back.
Thank you!!! My back still hurts from riding this like 10 years ago lol
It was called Freefall at Great Adventure in NJ. Awesome ride!
No this exact ride was at cedar point and was relocated here. The one in NJ was similar
This used to be at cedar point😂😂 my mom loved this ride
Great America in Santa Clara, California used to have this ride, too!
mightyhero It was called The Edge. They Got rid of it in the 1990s and replaced it with taller second gen free fall ride, Drop Zone.
I was there the day this was uploaded.
This ride hurts soooooooo FREAKIN much
hurts how

This is by far an experience you will only get here I'm dead serious I can't explain the fear you will get off this ride a different person
I've been on a tried so many times it's either point I wonder if that's the same one from Cedar Point when did Dorney Park acquire

Bringing back memories of Freefall at Magic Mountain!
I haven't ridden this ride in a looooong time.
I was like "This isn't new? Does it have a loop at the end now?" lol
Love this ride! I'm a bit biased though, since I'm a team leader there.
Sky screamer at sixflags astroworld. We used to put a penny on our knee and watch it float as we dropped.
Intamin needs to re-create these type of rides.
I think manafctuers need to start making their old rides again, or a company starts making old school type of rides like this.
+Tommy Carr I love Intamin drop Rides acquired taste
Tommy Carr technology is to advanced there rides are not accepted by today's standards
I find it so fascinating how it operates!
I remember when this model was at SFOT, it was my favorite ride. :/

I have never seen a ride like this before:O
My first old school drop ride was at great adventures when they had the batman and robin ride sitting across from it
At the top of the ride when it pushes you onto the track that drops you it feel like the carts just gonna fall forward.
I've never been on this ride and ive been going to Dorney Park for The Last 5 Years wow
New icp album triggered my memory of this ride
U go on your back? Sounds fun if u ask me
We miss this at cedar point. So sad it's gone.
Rian Harper This is the same ride, Cedar Fair moved it to another park.
I went on it and my brother was screaming he was going to pee his pants and I was laughing. I love Dorney.
But what is the reason?
Is this the same ride that used to be at cedar point...was it shipped to this Park from there?

Loved this ride at CP.
I was only freaked out by the line from suspense or the height but the thing that did it the most was the pistons releasing
