#WeirdAssWiggleStickWednESday #1965GibsonES175D 1)Wicked Game/Chris Isaak 2)Summertime Blues/Eddie Cochran 3)Rock This Town/Stray Cats stunning rock and roll machine🔥🔥🔥 Bye Bye 🇩🇪⚽️ great demo @markagnesi wassup Jen 🎥🎸
I have a 'friend of a friend' whose elderly dad has a '49 ES-175 and an older Les Paul Black Beauty, but I don't remember the year. I got to play the ES. Had a single P-90 and a real hollowbody. You couldn't go near the amp or you'd get feedback. All original. He said he bought it in 1958 or so in a pawn shop. He's kept that one and a few other "old guitars" as he called them. He was a bass player and he had a '56 P-Bass with the single coil and all maple neck and board which I also got to play. I have another friend who has a '52 Nocaster I get to play from time to time. Meanwhile, half my guitars are Squiers...
I really like these ES guitars ,all of them , I'm not really a jazz guy but , as demonstrated , they rock out pretty well too , I mean those classic numbers cry out for that hollow body sound , as does rockabilly , and who doesn't love a little wiggle stick. anyway , very pretty guitar , and it sounds great , as always some great info , thanks Mark and Jen.
10 seconds in and its like Holy crap!!! A Bigsby and TAGS??. Not an expert by any stretch but a 175 with a Bigsby somehow lights me up. Must be the 'burst finish. What a gem!!
Hey I managed to get a better look at who I’m assuming is Jen, whom we often hear, but don’t see enough, by watching the Chris Klafford video here on RUclips, who was the winner of Swedish Idol, and featured on one of Norman’s Rare Guitar videos, doing an amazing job. Now his own video shows him attending the store, and shows Jen filming .
I have a '64. Mine has no wiggle stick and is a DN (dual pickup, natural finish). The biggest difference is that I played the dickens out of mine, so it's only in excellent condition. My childhood guitar teacher was a jazz player and one of his other students was quitting and giving up guitar, so he suggested we buy it together with a Swedish Goya 000 size acoustic -- $300 for both! Best purchase ever in my life! I assume with the hangtags on that thing, and mint condition, it means it wasn't played, or not much. That's a sin!
"Well, my mom and pop told me 'bout a way to make some money. They said go and play me some guitar at their church every Sunday. Well, I didn't go to work, told my mom I was sick. She said: "Now you can't play guitar 'cause you didn't play a lick." Sometimes I wonder, what I'm a'goin' to do... 'Cause there ain't no cure for the summertime blues."
Forget PAFs, if you want sustain, get a Jen. I may be totally wrong, but I think Eddie Cochran may have used a Martin flat top for the rhythm parts on his records.
"Alec Eiffel" from the Pixies would have been a well-suited cover since Charles played it on an ES-295 reissue (with the P-100 pickups pretty comparable with these ones).

3. Rock This Town - Stray Cats
nbmike65 nicely done!
nbmike65 the version mark played was Brian setzer 's version
Trevor Thomason Brian Setzers band in the 80s was the Stray Cats.
I know but that was the version mark was play in on this guitar

WOW! Was that guitar bought then just locked up for 53 years? Thats got to go in 24 hours. What an amazing sound.👍
If he only would play jazz on it.....
Its amazing how new that thing looks for being a 65' model. Who wouldve bought it just to play it so little?

What a wicked game you played to make me feel this way
That 175-D sounds awesome! Great playing Mark. One of the best set lists in a while!
Just wow, all day long. Stunning instrument, stellar playing. Well, done Mark. What a sound. This is the real first day of summer!🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼
John JohnnyArt Pavlou...or winter, as it is down here in the southern hemisphere.
enjoy your summer, mate (".)
Howard Grüffüdd, many thanks! 🌞🌞🌞
That instrumental of Wicked Game was off the charts! what a sound, that was hypnotic ..great great job
Happy weird-ass WednESday
everyone! Sorry Mark, when I hear
the Stray Cats I always think of
Gretsch.
Same goes for Eddie Cochran.
Chris Isacks guitar player used a Strat, the ES 175 just will never be a "rock & roll" guitar, and Steve Howe isn't a rock & roll guitarist.
what about Izzy Stradlin using one for all of Appetite For Destruction?
Yeah, Izzy played some killer riffs with 175.
Wicked Game..Chris Isaak..Summertime Blues.Eddie Cochran...Rock this town..Stray Cats.
Wow! What a beautiful guitar. Great show Mark and Jennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
Gorgeous and The Playing as Well!!! Good Job Mark🙌🏼🙏🎶
10 seconds in and its like Holy crap!!! A Bigsby and TAGS??. Not an expert by any stretch but a 175 with a Bigsby somehow lights me up. Must be the 'burst finish. What a gem!!
I can tell that you and Jenn really enjoyed this one......👍👍👍👍
Man that 175 is so perfect.
This is the best sounding guitar you've had in a while!!
That's definitely a sweet guitar......someone has probably already bought it.....sounds great.....new owner won't be disappointed......so clean.....
What a gorgeous little baby that ES-175 is. I think I need some alone time...
Great to hear how good these sound for music other than jazz. We already know that it sounds fantastic for jazz.
Gorgeous guitar! Awesomely sounding too. And Jen, the D stands for U.
Man .. If I didn't have to buy a car, pay rent, utilities, eat, etc., I would buy that.
Fasting is a virtue ,right? .
Very underrated and awesome guitar. Love it!
That guitar is AMAZBAWS!
I'm with ya' Mark!

What is the make and model of this Bigsby...was it necessary to pierce the top of the Gibson 175-D to install the Bigsby? thanks !
Hey guys! You guys are the best!
Freeow, that is clean!
Pure Entertainment Mark you are a legend
Very nice guitar, I would never be able to keep it in tune though

My buddy's still really bummed out about there not being a tele for yesterday...
Beautiful sound on this beauty, though!

That model is actually the Gibson ES-175DBW. The D = Dual Pickups, and the BW = Bigsby Wigglestick. Now you know.
It's beautiful✌
Wow, I never realized Eddie Cochran incorporated a Duane Eddy bass riff. Tuff stuff!

Beautiful guitar. Has that Steve Howe sound.
Forget PAFs, if you want sustain, get a Jen. I may be totally wrong, but I think Eddie Cochran may have used a Martin flat top for the rhythm parts on his records.
