    I used to think people were wealthy if they ate meat and chicken for dinner and lunch. The 2-story house, having a car, people who traveled abroad.

    Hi Carlos, thank you for this video. I guess used to have the same indicators of wealthy like any average kid at a young age. You know, having a car, a beautiful house, I always wanted a Rec room like the American houses and all of those stuff that a kid thinks he needs. But when I grew up, I realized that I didn't even need a lot of things at all and now I'm just focused on having necessary things to live well in material terms. You know what I mean, we're fulling the earth with trash and killing nature, we need to change our mindset and productive system. What type of world are we gonna give our children and grandkids? Now if we talked about wealthy from other meaning, I'd say I'm rich since I have my family and healthy. Have a successful day, Carlos.

      In my experience, I've changed dramatically when it comes to things that I would need if I'm rich. No swimming pool, just one or two not too fancy cars. Less traveling (for me, the world is not as amazing as many people say it is). I eat less now, and I would keep eating the same amount if I were rich. Just a small, nice house with a big TV and cozy living room. Just one house. No wife, no pets.

      @@erickchavez7681 Especially now that I'm getting older! no more nagging from anyone, pets are kind of like small children; they're cute, but you have to take care of them, their washing, their pooping, you have to feed them (and this coming from a cat lover). If I get bored, well, I still can join any club or volunteer at any center. But I know myself. I always can come up with a project or something to keep me busy. I'm not a guy who watches TV all day (I can't even get through a whole movie!)

    • @erickchavez7681
      @erickchavez7681 11 месяцев назад

      Absolutely, having pets is basically having another son to take care of. Now, bringing up projects or things that would keep you busy, have you thought about running an English school or any other business? or maybe something even more interesting? It's curious, I know you enjoy being alone so wonder what I would do if I were on your shoes. Perhaps I would be thinking of doing a bunches of new things after having played your role of son, husband, father, etc. Where do you find happiness and joy?@@EnSimplesPalabras

      @@erickchavez7681 This is the way I see it. I have no problem having a family, having a wife, kids. The problem I see is that people put little effort into being good fathers, mothers, partners, obedient children. No wonder we have way too many dysfunctional families everywhere. I'm not saying that I'm the perfect partner or father and everybody else is to blame (I myself have my own shortcomings), but it's not easy living with other human beings. It's not even easy living with me.
      And since all I want now is peace and quiet, I'd rather live on my own. Now I find happiness when I'm the captain of my own ship. When I pour myself into my own little projects that a woman probably would find useless and uninteresting (and would probably start telling me that I'm wasting my time instead of doing things for her). To me FREEDOM is happiness. It's not money, family or friends. I can talk to them once in a while, but then I need to go back to my cave, to have control of my life. Right now I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life. We'll see what the future holds for me.

    Hi profe how you doin' ?.
    Great video profe, different ways to say "golpear" in English, I didn't know that expression profe, I mean, "coup", it seems to me like french, I know the expression "military takeover" but I don't know if it conveys the same idea, thanks for the video profe 👍.

    • @janetleeconn5358
      @janetleeconn5358 11 месяцев назад

      "Coup" en francés significa "golpe" en español. En este caso, "coup" en inglés es la abreviatura de "coup d'état", que significa "golpe de estado". Para ser más específico, puedes añadir la palabra "military", es decir, "a military coup". "A military takeover" significa lo mismo. "Takeover" significa "toma del poder".
      "Coup" es más elegante que "takeover". (Usar palabras francesas siempre se considera más elegante en inglés.) En cuanto a qué palabra se usa más coloquialmente hoy en día ("coup" o "takeover"), necesitamos al profe.
