Really awesome video man. Very informative. Nice work. Just waiting for my carb to come in. And yes I hit my head on the hood latch. Twice now. Lol. Thanks
I’ve done Weber swap on standard raider before few years back doing automatic. Will let you know how I hook up trans kickdown linkage. Post how you do it for others to know about it pease and thank you.
came to learn this swap for my 1982 Chrysler LeBaron with this weird neat little engine, subscribed for the blatant farting on camera because fart humor IS HILARIOUS
I got here through your Facebook link. Good video. I wonder how well the Mikuni carb would have worked had each of the vacuum lines been replaced with new ones, one by one. It's a really good set-up when it works. I'd probably look for a way to connect that line off your charcoal canister marked "a/c." That's air cleaner. It'll evacuate the canister when the gas tank fills it up with fumes. Otherwise, you may smell gas fumes at weird times and in strange places. I most recently used a Holley self-regulating 2.5 - 4 lb pump that I strapped onto the cross member directly in front of the gas tank, with a clear 5/16" in/out filter in front of the flow. All those external pumps are noisy, so it's just part of the game, I guess. Webers can be funny in a Raider/Montero. See how much you like it off road, particularly when pointing the truck up a steep incline or decline. Thanks for putting the video together!
Yea I know the mikuni is the ideal if you can get it running right, I just didn't want to deal with that headache. And yea I'm sure the weber bowl would cause issues going up or down, but I'm just going to cruise this thing. Not really planning on going off road with it. Glad you stopped by the video!
...the timing chain has a bit of slack, about 1/2" or so, on the driver's side ... passenger side is tight, the side where the tensioner is installed ...the chain, sprockets, all look good & shinny, no sign of damage as far as the eye can see ... should this be a concern ? I done this carb swap on my 88 raider but didn’t put in the new fuel pump and now it starts and runs but is very very sluggish and not near the power it had before. Any suggestions?
Sir good day can I ask question? what is the brand or kind of mechanical fuilpump is your pajero coz we have the same unit or car i wont to change my electronic fuilpump to mechanical. the only problem is I dont know what kind of fuilpump to use for
I've only driven it a mile or two out from home base so far. Still haven't got it hooked up and haven't had to drop a gear to pass anybody or anything. I'm waiting on fixing my temp sensor before I venture too far out. Then I will get the kick down cable fixed
Fantastic video. Wealth of information. I'll be able to make the Webber swap out now.
glad i could be helpful!!
You crushed it. About to do this and was super helpful

So glad I could be of help!!! I remember being so confused about it all before I started the swap
This is pretty amazing!! Good job, where did you end up connecting the brakebooster vacuum line

Any chance you know where to find the engine manual? I have a mazda b2600 with the same engine
Very helpful TY.
what did you end up doing with the kickdown cable?
I done this carb swap on my 88 raider but didn’t put in the new fuel pump and now it starts and runs but is very very sluggish and not near the power it had before. Any suggestions?
Did anybody ever figure out how to do the kickdown cable?
how did you handle the kickdown?
Great video!! Very helpfull,, any updates??
on the 2.6L G54B engine, does the Mikuni carb need to come out, before the fuel pump can be replaced ?

I linked it in the description. It is a carter fuel pump
Put a webber 38dgas twin throttle openings of a ford capri v6 3.0l amazing perforemance
What connectors did you use to connect the fuel pump/carb to the 12v wires?
Also thank you so much for the video so helpful!!
they're called posi-tap connectors
Are parts hard to get for your raider?
Does it make the car full consumption economical???
I don't know if it makes it more economical, but it makes it less complicated
@ 14:10 Do you just manually downshift without the kickdown cable connected?

Can the motor be swapped fairly easily for a v8?
man...that might be a task
@@beardedreviews yeah, I saw one for sale but it didn’t run and I’d rather have a v8 anyways but I’m not sure..
just ignored the kickdown?
you just gotta pretend like it's not there, and it doesn't even matter :)
Can i keep my mechanical fuel pump with this carb?
I've seen mixed opinions on that. There are alot of forum posts about it. I decided to go aftermarket, and the one I used is the best one for the job
I wonder if anyone swapped this motor on to a 60s dodge dart
Were did you purchase the carburetor?
