So sorry for the late response! All of our babies use puppy pads. They weren't trained per se. I have figured out what they like to "go" and set down the pads accordingly. Other people use litter boxes lightly filled with water as opossums naturally relieve themselves in streams so it mimics their habitat.
Hello, thank you for watching. Opossums in the wild aren't dangerous. They are incredibly docile creatures but just like any other wild animal, they should be left alone and not instigated. That is when most animals become aggressive as they feel threatened. That being said, the opossum is more likely to "play dead" before biting anyone/thing. Also, you do not have to worry about rabies. Their body temperature is too low to carry the disease. While it is not impossible for them to contract it, it is highly unlikely.
