My family and I have been wrestling with a bad drain for a year and a half now. Drain cleaner only prevented the clog from stopping it completely up but it would still have drain issues. Now, I find a simple, concise, four minute video that fixed the drain 100% for the first time since we moved into our house. Thank you sir; I shall write songs about you.

YOU are my new best friend! I've been trying to figure this drain plug out for 2.5 years. The apartment complex maintenance man said all you do is untwist it and pull it up... leaving out the important detail of using a screwdriver! Very helpful!!!

Thank you so much for this video. I am 66 years old and this was my first attempt to unclog my tub. I had a problem trying to locate a video for my kind of stopper and ran across this. My stopper did not have a screw in the top so I got very frustrated but when I realized I could unscrew the little round thing in the center it came out just fine. I went from phillips head to regular screw driver and neither one worked so I tried turning the round piece in the center and it came out. I could not believe all that junk I got out and thanks to this video I saved a ton on money on a plumper and my tub is flowing again. Thanks you did a great job and thanks for sharing this.

After searching for a year and having a clogged shower drain, I now am clog-free. Thank you Vibrant Journey man! My drain assembly did not have a "screwdriver" slot on the center shaft thingy which confused me as to how to remove it; just took a pliers and unscrewed it and once removed there was a one-inch thick mat of solidified hair blocking the drain. Thanks!

Thank you for posting this... A plumber was out about a year ago to fix a problem with a toilet (about 8' of roots in the drain, just out of reach of an auger. He took a look at a slow shower too. He just ran a zip strip thing (plastic strip with catches along it) down it, and pulled out a lot of hair.

Getting hair out of my shower drain is one of the worst chores ever. I have a strange phobia where I get grossed out when I see wet hairs lying around, let alone clumps of it. But thanks for making the process just a bit easier for me! Now I don't have to fish it out with a stick between the narrow opening. Even if I do that, it often doesn't make it completely unclogged!

Super helpful video! Thanks for sharing. My boyfriend and I just moved in to an apartment and we noticed the tub drained slowly. The maintenance crew was booked for a few weeks so I decided to take it on myself. Those dang drain stoppers had us confused so I took to the internet and found this video. I thought it looked doable and didn't think your drain looked too nasty but when I took ours out it was disgusting! There was aquarium gravel and shaving razor caps entangled in the hair! And there was so much of it! Gross! Whoever lived here before must have never cleaned it. Now our drain runs fine and we can shower without the puddles! Thanks again for sharing!

thanks for this! a lot of people have videos on how to unclog the drain, but don't show you how to take out the stopper. that's kind of an important step :-)

Yeah, a very important step with these stoppers. They can be mysterious.

Thanks so much. I had no idea how to remove the stopper...I had been buying a little plastic tool to stick down the drain. Now no need to buy those...I can just use the tools I already had. I just did it and it took only a few minutes for this mom!

Very simple to do. A shop vacuum set on vacuuming up water helped get the hair and debris up to the top so that the needle nosed pliers could grab it. I had the type that was smooth across the top so just used some pliers (instead of a screwdriver) to unscrew the middle shaft to remove. Thanks for the video!
