🎶 District Music Festival in Sillian, Tyrol 2024: 100 Years of the Pustertal-Oberland Music District

- Every year, the Oberland District Music Festival attracts numerous music enthusiasts from near and far to East Tyrol, and the tradition was upheld in 2024 as well. This year, on the weekend of July 27th and 28th, 2024, the 100th anniversary of the Pustertal-Oberland Music District was celebrated with a grand festival in Sillian.
On Saturday, the music festival was officially opened with the march-in of the Sillian brass band and the subsequent tapping of the beer keg by district chairman Otto Trauner and district bandmaster Martin Bodner. Following a concert by the Sillian brass band, there was dancing and entertainment provided by the "Goldrieder" group.
On Sunday, we captured the grand parade with our camera, in which 13 brass bands and 10 festival wagons participated. Following the parade, the official ceremony was held at the marketplace. Around 700 musicians played several marches together, creating an incredible soundscape over the Pustertal. As part of the music festival, long-serving musicians and young musicians who achieved a performance badge this year were honored. The festival weekend concluded on Sunday with solo performances by guest bands from Tesido/Taisten (Pustertal/South Tyrol Music District) and Thurn (Lienz Valley Music District), as well as the group "Moritz & CO" from Burgenland.

Vor einigen Jahren haben wir auf der Durchreise beim Strasserwirt Station gemacht und das Bezirksmusikfest in Innervillgraten besucht.
Trotz sengender Hitze sind alle Musikkapellen zum Festgottesdienst in Volltracht einmarschiert und stehengeblieben.

Das ist Osttirol, Südtirol, Nordtirol super Umzüge und sehr gute Musikkapellen und super Märsche und sehr gute Stimmung ❤❤❤❤❤
Immer wieder herrlich zu erleben für einen "Auslandsosttiroler" (im Zillertal), mit welcher Leidenschaft und "Glut" unsere Feste ("meine" als geb. Lienzer und mit Sillganer Elternbluat imprägniert) gestaltet werden. Beispielhaft! In Nordtirol erlebt man eher "Coolness" trotz aller Bemühungen. In ganz vielen Orten eben für die Touristen. In Osttirol fehlen die großteils. Es wäre so wichtig, dass wir auch "unter uns" bleiben. Ich hätte mir nur gewünscht, dass man sich die Märsche abspricht und nicht xmal die selben hört. ABER: ich vergesse meine Heimat nicht und schätze und liebe sie. Der Film hat mich beschenkt. Danke.
