Watching these again in 2024 sure is a blast from the past. "As a rule, I never like to spend more than $3 on NES games." You can't get ANY NES game for that price today.
There's a flea market near my house that has a bunch of old stuff I'm talking, Atari, NES, PlayStation, Xbox. They have a bunch of old games. I got a GameBoy color for 25 dollars there.
johnhasaguitar duh?? because what the guy said didnt make any sense.. if he wanted to make sense he would have said buy 2 get 1 free.. you dont say 5 each and 3 for 10... it doesnt make any sense at all.. geez.. LOL way to state the obvious
i watch the old ones now because i used to go to our flea market in austria every week but you cant find anything there anymore except of 2 or 3 resellers with ebay or worst than ebay prices. If i want ebay prices i buy online and let it be delivered home. Since i dont go anymore i have this videos to watch and remember the good old times.
I love re watching these early episodes. Pat man you should totally go to some new flea markets or just go to yard sales. This way you don't get recognized and we can enjoy fresh content of you finding great deals again.
Dear Pat. i feel i need to brag about this. a few years ago, i was hunting Garage sales in my town. and i came across one i didn't expect. First i saw a boxed "Bubsy" for Snes. then the nice lady came up to me and said, "we have a Snes inside if you'd like?" i agreed, and she comes out a few minutes later with a Snes in the box, with the foam, system, controllers, and hook-ups. and even some posters. she asked for $4 for the game and the system! :D although the system didn't work, it was nice
Damn, whenever I watch these videos, something catches my eye. Whether it be a record, a piece of film equipment or Shriner memorabilia, something always passes them by.
His name is Pat, and he buys crap and me.. Frank. I like his pic pops up like the guy in Mortal Kombat. That hispanic chic almost looks like she was in love haha for the pac man glass.
YO PAT! Gotta thank you for these videos. They have inspired me to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn and drive down to my local flea market. Wasn't as nice as the one you went to, but I never knew just how good it feels to pay dirt cheap for something thats 10 times as expensive online. The advice you gave here helped immensely too. Thanks a lot!
i think that being inmexico i have the best luck, just yesterday iwent to a 2nd hand shop and bought a nes for like 200 pesos/$16.66 dollars, and the store manager was so nice that he gave me an n64 for fre!!! its awesome what you can find in these places
Sure, there are always good deals to be had - I got an NES, SNES, N64 all with controllers and good games for $23 at a goodwill in Sydney - it's just annoying that unless you want to pay an exorbitant price, it's often hard to get the exact thing you want or even have a regular supply of games.
RenderSlam Lets be fair though, and this isn't anything against you or Australia necessarily but Australia truly is the worst country on the planet for video gaming.
mechanoid2k You can do a lot worse, actually. At least Australia has gotten all of the major consoles the US have these past few decades (and a few that they didn't, like the Sega SG-1000)
I don't live in australia but anything video game related is at least 2x the cost as it is in the US and yeah you get all the consoles but only like 25% of the games. Also I've heard australia is very heavy on censoring games.
I remember a stall at our flea market once that had a stack of about FIFTEEN Turbografix 16 systems and another pile of TGFX16 games, plus they had one hooked up to a TV for demo (flea market also had power outlet system built into ground pavement around the lots). Most of all, they were trying to liquidate them so you could get a large bundle of TGFX16 stuff for cheap.
I found Skys of Arcadia for 5$ a few days ago at a pawn shop. I bought every dreamcast game they had just so they didnt look up the value of the only one I wanted.
I mean even if you don't figure out that it's buy 2 get 1, it's still obviously a discount for buying more. Pretty standard operating procedure I would think.
Cool to see another NJ native. Not sure why you'd move to the pacific, but always love hearing NJ people get big on youtube, even if they are from the northern part of NJ :)
A lot of people seem to follow the $5 or 3 for $10. I've seen it a few times in my local NJ flea market. I like it generally. You won't get any crazy, but often you can get some unique items for a slight discount. Good way to fill out some collections you might not have. Local reseller had one of those and actually a pretty nice guy. Solid inventory, good prices, friendly attitude. So the way it was setup was there was obviously a lot of individually priced games, and then like 3 bins of random games at 3 for 10. I ended up getting RBI Baseball (Cart only), Sponge bob for ps1 (CIB), and Desert strike (CIB) all for $10. All together they are like $30, so I made out pretty well, and I got them because they were games I wanted in my collection.
I live in the middle of know where in Minnesota but am thinking about selling and going south so Im looking forward to seeing a Market like this!!! I have to drive over 75 miles to get to a Goodwill LOL!!
***** Yeah I just got a second job working at an electronics store and they only buy the last gen 360. Same for the PS3. They only buy the grill version with the ugly sliding top.
I would have less difficulty getting up at 6:30 to go to the flea market to shop than to wake up at the exact same time for work or school. Sad really.
Yes i'm painfully aware of that (Living in Sweden myself) Thats why i bought an american nes and most of my games on Ebay. I have som PAL games but most are NTSC
is this filmed on some kind of spycam? or perhaps a smartphone in the shirt pocket? and is it cuz of weirdos like the guy in the last vid all like 'i hope your not filming' and any other unwanted attention / or maybe just the hands free convience?
The seller in the last video wasn't a weirdo. Pat is the weirdo, running around recording video of people's booths and getting upset at anyone who is there to make money instead of give him items for peanuts. Why is that guy a weirdo anyway? Because he asked him not to videotape, or because Pat said that he annoyed the hell out of him? This is how we are programmed so easily. Nobody comes to their own conclusions, uses their own head. They let others make up their mind for them. The guy said nothing in he video for you to make any sort of judgement about what kind of person he is. Maybe he was annoying, maybe he everything Pat said, but the point is, you have nothing to judge him on, so know your place, focus on yourself, and come to your own conclusions about people. You have a brain, use it. You don't need other people telling you how or what to think.
most xbox 360s can be fixed by my replacing the thermal gel on the GPU - enough for two 360s is maybe 5 dollars. taking them apart is a little tricky, but that is what google is for. i buy broken ones, fix and update them, then trade them into gamestop for store credit
I just sold a Mario Kart 64 I bought at a garage sale on Ebay for almost 60 bucks. It cost me a quarter at the garage sale. I'm not bragging on my profit, but just wanted to say how crazy it was that it sold that much on Ebay.
+creekandseminole I sold mine for $35 a few months ago and the average price was $40-$45 on Ebay at the time.... And checking right now the highest I see it for is about $50, there's no way you sold it for that unless it was boxed or something.
dear pat i wonder if you have any tips I'm going to garage sale and i be looking for video games and i wonder how you do the deals on games and consoles...
Great Video! and yeah out in california we call flea markets swap meets. Also you are corrent about the storage sellers. Alot of em know what the video games are worth. Im from CA. Next time you guys are here hit me up. I know of some good swap meets!
Only take about 2 weeks. and the local websites here are insane in prices! So price for the game plus shipping is always ALOT cheaper. I often buy 10 games and up every order so then i save on shippings
Our local places like Goodwill and Salvation Army have NOTHING in computers and consoles because the employees take them all and Ebay them. It really sucks and Ive stopped even going to look. Its useless.
I remember when i got Gears of War 3 at a flea market for 20 bucks. It was retailing at gamestop for 60 since it just came out within the last week. :) Best deal ive ever gotten
Watching these again in 2024 sure is a blast from the past. "As a rule, I never like to spend more than $3 on NES games." You can't get ANY NES game for that price today.
Yeah it's so funny watching that now and being able to cringe like that and be so retroactively upset with Pat.
Watching the classic flea market episodes is like watching og Star Wars
"I'd rather study for a math test than watch that stuff." Frank
best frank quote yet.
still his best quote
Don't mind me, just remembering the days when I could actually FIND NES games at the flea market.
There's a flea market near my house that has a bunch of old stuff
I'm talking, Atari, NES, PlayStation, Xbox. They have a bunch of old games.
I got a GameBoy color for 25 dollars there.
These flea market videos are awesome, and Frank is the man.
+Sakura Haruno who isnt
It’s been a while since I binged this series. Good to be back.
i come for pat and stay for frank!
"5 each, 3 for 10.. that doesn't make any sense"
How does that not make any sense? It's buy 2 get 1 free
johnhasaguitar duh?? because what the guy said didnt make any sense.. if he wanted to make sense he would have said buy 2 get 1 free.. you dont say 5 each and 3 for 10... it doesnt make any sense at all.. geez.. LOL way to state the obvious
johnhasaguitar it's to rip people off that don't pay attention to con artist scammers
It makes complete sense.
plus it's aproximately 3.33 bucks per game.
i watch the old ones now because i used to go to our flea market in austria every week but you cant find anything there anymore except of 2 or 3 resellers with ebay or worst than ebay prices. If i want ebay prices i buy online and let it be delivered home. Since i dont go anymore i have this videos to watch and remember the good old times.
Rofl such a cheapskate "how much for the glass? 3.00 will you go 2.50?"
Still watching in 2023.
Who‘s watching After Episode 50?
I watch these for frank. Funny comments from your uncle are the best.
10 bucks for a nintendo 64 w Mario and Zelda games?!?! AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
That's an understatement...*sigh* Wish I had insane deals and markets like this here.
I love re watching these early episodes. Pat man you should totally go to some new flea markets or just go to yard sales. This way you don't get recognized and we can enjoy fresh content of you finding great deals again.
If people ask me for my advice, I'm not going to lie to them. Sorry!
"For $5 a piece nothing really pops out..."
EXCEPT THE COPY OF DRAGON WARRIOR THAT GOES FOR AT LEAST $10-$15 IN LOCAL GAME SHOPS!!!!
$5 wasn't a good deal back in 2010 when this was filmed, nor is it a good deal now.
i bought dragon warrior off of ebay for a dollar, 3 bucks shipping.
Pat the NES Punk yeah i just got mine a few weeks ago for one dollar at slackers
Lazarus Nazareth This was 2012...hardly a bandwagoning.
+Lazarus Nazareth Scrub.
Dear Pat.
i feel i need to brag about this.

Nice intro song! Lol don’t forget Frank!
Damn, whenever I watch these videos, something catches my eye. Whether it be a record, a piece of film equipment or Shriner memorabilia, something always passes them by.
Frank is quite the novel character.
@TheGamingFrontier that would be Chasing Madness.....wow and I just came up with that right this second
His name is Pat, and he buys crap and me.. Frank. I like his pic pops up like the guy in Mortal Kombat. That hispanic chic almost looks like she was in love haha for the pac man glass.
i'd rather study for a math test than watch hulk hogan! LOL
I just drooled over those old synthesizers the whole time
The theme song is stuck on my head!
YO PAT! Gotta thank you for these videos. They have inspired me to wake up at the buttcrack of dawn and drive down to my local flea market. its awesome what you can find in these places
lol i + my own comment
lol 200 pesos here are around 4$ bro.
The only place you'll find decent video game stuff in Australia are at often expensive goodwill stores. These prices make me wet.
Really? One time I found a copy of Little Samson at Goodwill for like $0.88. It's worth like ~$150.
Sure, there are always good deals to be had - I got an NES, SNES, N64 all with controllers and good games for $23 at a goodwill in Sydney - it's just annoying that unless you want to pay an exorbitant price, it's often hard to get the exact thing you want or even have a regular supply of games.

Pat, I grew up in Woodbridge, too. Pretty cool you were an NJ guy. Between hearing about your Englishtown experiences and stuff. Awesome.
i remember buying games from a flea market. hell, i recall my family going to the flea market to sell stuff. sometimes id put up a few of my games
Pat you are ruthless!! She's totally checking you out! 3:22
hiphopguru81 no shit. it was a joke , relax.
there are boot sales and church sales and stuff where i live, not to mention stalls in towns where they sell comics.
This was the golden age of RUclips 😢
I remember a stall at our flea market once that had a stack of about FIFTEEN Turbografix 16 systems and another pile of TGFX16 games, plus they had one hooked up to a TV for demo (flea market also had power outlet system built into ground pavement around the lots). man I miss obscure pat
08:58 - "I'd rather study for a math test than watch that stuff." My thoughts exactly, Frank.
I found Skys of Arcadia for 5$ a few days ago at a pawn shop. I bought every dreamcast game they had just so they didnt look up the value of the only one I wanted.
How does $5 each and 3 for $10 not make sense to you? lol
It means that every 2 games, 1 is free.
I mean even if you don't figure out that it's buy 2 get 1, it's still obviously a discount for buying more. Pretty standard operating procedure I would think.
Mmm oatmeal!
The First Church of Nintendo: the only reason to get up early on Sunday.
Let us bow our heads and play...
These age like a fine wine
thanx for all the insights path, next time i hit the flea market in tallahasee ill keep em all in mind
In fact, at one point in the first volume, you can hear a reseller ask him a few times if he's filming.
The one thing I like about the flea markets in my town is no gets up early as i do.
Cool to see another NJ native. Not sure why you'd move to the pacific, but always love hearing NJ people get big on youtube, even if they are from the northern part of NJ :)
@PolakInAKilt He can barely turn on his computer.
Best...Themesong...EVER!
I want to go back in time
We have those bins up in Michigan. I also saw them when I lived down in Florida.
$5 ea. , 3 for $10, I love it! LOL
1 for $5
Or
3 for $10
Makes sense Pat
A lot of people seem to follow the $5 or 3 for $10. I've seen it a few times in my local NJ flea market. I like it generally. I have to drive over 75 miles to get to a Goodwill LOL!!
I love your channel and its inspired me to be a video game collector, thanks Pat!!!
You need to come to the one in Dallas they have every weekend.
I would never even consider buying a used 360 anywhere. Those things are the lemons of the video game industry. At least the first gens...
+creekandseminole Just reflow. Tons of people have made bank re-flowing that early lead-free that MS used. Cracks eventually from thermal cycles.
***** Yeah I just got a second job working at an electronics store and they only buy the last gen 360. Same for the PS3. They only buy the grill version with the ugly sliding top.
The opening music is Paper Boy for the NES.
IT"S FRANK!!!!!!!!!
Why do I love these episodes?
been curious after you said you would pay up to $3 for a NES game, now that old video games prices went up, whats the most you pay for a NES game now?
I'm convinced that Coach Steve from Big Mouth is influenced by Frank.
oh man these are great Pat i thought i was the only one who was a swapmeet gamer
I go to this flea market all the time, It's called Kobey's Swap Meet. It's awesome
One day archaeologists are going to dig this up. It's going to be awesome.
At 1.31 when he looks at the camera and shows the star trek one-funny moment!
I would have less difficulty getting up at 6:30 to go to the flea market to shop than to wake up at the exact same time for work or school. Sad really.
Did Frank go to RISD? Just noticed his shirt. I'm from Rhode Island so that would be pretty cool.
That's like telling someone that collects games they should use an emulator. He's a collector. He enjoys it.
Franks Twin was just on a commercial for storage wars texas. I really thought it was him, but the noses were different.
England is sucking for car boots(Flea markets). It`s so cold here now and getting harder to find any retro games. keep it up Pat
Ahh, Wario's first appearance
Yes i'm painfully aware of that (Living in Sweden myself) Thats why i bought an american nes and most of my games on Ebay. I have som PAL games but most are NTSC
Ah US1 haha it was the flea market that existed before English town was relocated to its current location.
is this filmed on some kind of spycam? or perhaps a smartphone in the shirt pocket? and is it cuz of weirdos like the guy in the last vid all like 'i hope your not filming' and any other unwanted attention / or maybe just the hands free convience?

Have a 'Snickers...'
"I'd rather study for a math test than watch that stuff"

I've always wondered who is Frank to Pat?
Just a friend for what i understand
Welcome to California where thrift stores are filled with marajwana leaves clothes wetsuits and used copies of tony hawk pro skater
To be fair, pro skater was alright. Pro skater 4 being my favorite.
Are they still selling dreamcast in the flea market at the place you go? It's really hard in my country to find a dreamcast >.
most xbox 360s can be fixed by my replacing the thermal gel on the GPU - enough for two 360s is maybe 5 dollars. taking them apart is a little tricky, but that is what google is for. i buy broken ones, fix and update them, then trade them into gamestop for store credit
LOL that person sleeping!
cool you were in my home town.....did you like the weather ????
Would love to see you two in your own movie just goofing arround on flea markets :)
I just sold a Mario Kart 64 I bought at a garage sale on Ebay for almost 60 bucks. It cost me a quarter at the garage sale. I'm not bragging on my profit, but just wanted to say how crazy it was that it sold that much on Ebay.

It is! I knew it was something familiar. Thanks a bunch!
Well, Frank's not "the" but THE Man! Cheers from Italy :)

Frank for president
Trump 2016
I'm so jealous that you got n64 and games for ten dollars it cost me 150 dollars for mine with 007 and a racing game but they are so hard to find here
Does anybody know what game the opening music is from? It's been at the tip of my tongue, and it's been driving me nuts that I can't think of it!
I found a old original Gameboy and Famicom in the box and I paid $10 for both and they work
I remember when i got Gears of War 3 at a flea market for 20 bucks. It was retailing at gamestop for 60 since it just came out within the last week. :) Best deal ive ever gotten
The FULL version of the theme song lol...
@bikerboy3k a regular game is usually around 3 bucks somtimes they sell for 1 or 2 though
i got the same bongos at Game Stop for a $1.22 new and shrink-wrapped
Its like me and my dad on a sunday carbooting in England haha
