He ordered the detonation of the nuclear bomb, which is why Shepherd betrayed 141 in the first place (After obtaining what he needed to cement his status as a war hero, Shepherd betrayed Task Force 141 in an attempt to destroy any links to his treacherous actions including his connection to Allen's death so he could bring Makarov down himself. He kills Ghost and Roach "to cut loose ends" ) But I highly doubt that betrayal of the Shepherd would lead to the death of the Ghost, due to latter knowing about General's betrayal...
After reading up on the backstory of Ghost (Simon Riley), I just realised that at 18:34 when Rodolfo says "With your mask, you will fit in well here Ghost", Alejandro proceeds to tell Rodolfo "Hey... easy" and Soap is also indicating physically that he should stop talking immediately! This is because before Task Force 141, Simon Riley was tortured by a Mexican drug lord called Manuel Roba, Leader of the Zaragoza Drug Cartel after he was sent to kill him but was betrayed and sold out by Major Vernon during the event leading to Simon, and his two additional teammates', capture and subsequent torture/brainwash, driving him to madness and donning the skull mask as a result. Find out more below... To elaborate, Simon Riley was traumatised as a child, his father torturing him and his younger brother Tommy into confrontations with dangerous animals, even going as far as forcing him to kiss a venomous snake. His younger brother would also wear the mask of a skull to frighten Simon in the evenings. Later, as a result of the events of 9/11, Simon, an apprentice butcher, enrolled into the military and progressed to the SAS. A few years later, he would come home to a broken home, his mother regularly abused and his brother a drug addict. Consequently, Simon swore that before he would return to the military, he would fix his home. Over the course of 1/2 years, Simon removed his father from their lives, ending his torment, and cleaning up his brothers addiction, eventually meeting a woman called Beth whom Tommy would marry and give birth to Joseph, Simon's nephew. Simon later returned to the SAS and was tasked with an operation to eliminate the drug lord Manuel Roba led by Major Vernon. The field operation was conducted with two others, Kevin Sparks and Mark Washington. Unfortunately, they would be betrayed by Vernon who sold them out to Roba mid mission which led to the trio's capture. Roba would then go on to torture and attempt to brainwash all three men with Simon being driven into madness. (It is alleged he became infatuated with skulls as Roba's torture only led to him being reminded of his childhood and thus seeing everyone's faces as skulls because of his brother Tommy). Due to his formidable mental resistance, Simon would be forced into being buried alive with Major Vernon's corpse (unknown how they end up together) and thus he used the opportunity to dig his way out using the lower jaw bone of Vernon's corpse (which may explain the mask we see in-game, itself not featuring a lower jaw bone). Against all odds, Simon would return to his home in Manchester and during his discharge would reconnect with his former teammates. It is then revealed that he is declined from active service due to his decayed mental health and during an traumatic episode, Sparks and Washington would subdue Simon and reveal they are in fact still brainwashed by Roba, who were tasked with killing Simon Riley's entire family, except his father, in order to finally mentally break him. Simon would later find the dead corpses and uncharacteristically begin laughing. He then finds his father in a hospital and confronts him of this condition, with his father explaining that it is perhaps his brain's response to another traumatic childhood moment when they were returning from a concert together. His father pays a prostitute with drugs that led to her smiling during an overdose and his father laughing and forcing Simon to watch and laugh too, indicating Simon's further descent into madness. Determined to avenge his former self and family, he eliminates a hiding Sparks and Washington, switching out his dog tags with one of theirs. Simon would finally return to Mexico and take Roba's cartel head on, capturing and subsequently torturing him and burning their mansion to the ground. As he leaves, a little bird arrives and he is confronted by a man, General Shepard, and offered an opportunity to join the Task Force 141 under the alias Ghost. This would also somewhat explain why Alejandro trusted Ghost with his safe house location due to both his mental fortitude and ability to keep a secret. So yeah, had Rodolfo pursued his comment, there's no telling what Ghost would do if he was triggered.
As Mexican, hearing Ghost saying "A huevo" is priceless, believe me, this game reflects pretty much whats happening here, corruption, military giving its back to the people, everything, but ey life isnt easy for anyone But yeah, "A huevo" to all Task Force 141!

@@fireboigotti2647 I thought something similar, but this is something that has confused me for a while. Why is he wearing four stars on his shoulders if he isn't of General rank? Now that I've thought about it, I've been wondering if maybe they made Shepherd a full General in this reboot as opposed to his Lieutenant General status in the original game.
I remember when the first Modern Warfare came out way back in the day and I thought that was the best graphics would ever get. Each year I'm proven wrong, over and over again. I'm thankful for it lol.
The animations are incredible, I can't believe some of these are animated and not actual people. Really liked the dialogue and the voice acting, it feels natural and flows nicely, the characters are all great, especially soap and ghost, i hope they'll all stay alive in future games
I love how Glenn Morshower was in previous Call of Duty games, most notably in OG Modern warfare 2 as Overlord, and in one of the cutscness he mentions giving a "blank checque" to General Shepard, then 13 years later HE plays General Shepard
What throws me off is he plays a very similiar role in the Battlefield 3 campaign. Similar animation styles too, so its pretty much the same character in a different game.
While playing the campaign I was in the middle of a cinematic scene, and I COMPLETELY forgot I was playing a game and left Soap just laying on the ground after Graves tried to kill Soap and Ghost for like 2 minutes. I literally said, "Is he gonna move?" LMAOOOO Most likes and replies I have gotten on a comment lol 😂
My dumbass didn’t realize you could stand soap up and I thought you had to army crawl around because he was injured but them I remember he was only shot in the arm so I spammed random buttons until he stood up
Loved the dynamic between Ghost and Soap into this game, they feel more 'alive' (no pun intended) than in the OG MW2. And Alejandro quickly became a favourite of mine. Overall, had an absolute blast with this game
Did anyone else notice that when soap asked hassan that “where did u get american missiles from?” Shepherd immediately stop him saying “I dont care where they r from” meaning he could hve supplied the missiles to hassan cuz shepherd later betrayed ghost and their team
i’m pretty sure that those missiles were stolen from shadow company while they were about to deliver them to an ally of the united states (presumably) in the middle east. russians stole the missiles and gave them to iran. graves and shepherd tried to cover this up, which is exactly why general shepherd didn’t want to know where the missiles came from. also, this is the reason why shepherd gave commander graves permission to take over the mission, they were both just covering their asses. so essentially, he didn’t directly supply iran with those missiles.
Actually the reason he doesn’t want Hassan to answer is because when the Russians stopped the cargo to steal it they heard the comms of shadow company and learned shepherd was behind the shipment so they decided to give it (or sell it) to Hassan and during the transaction Russia DEFINITELY told Hassan where they came from cause no one just finds 3 ballistic missiles 💀💀
Oh man, when do I even start I love this new version of 141. It’s good having Gaz be a major player and actually getting screentime with Ghost, Soap and Price. The new Soap is a spitting image of the original so that’s perfect to me, already a huge fan of Price and Gaz. The new Ghost is even better since he gets the proper focus as well. Alejandro and Rudy are excellent new additions, I mean wow, Alejandro is impeccable but Rudy deserves a ton of credit too. I liked how it seemed as though Rudy, Soap and Gaz (all playable characters) were the second in commands to their mission operators (Alejandro, Ghost and Price). Graves and the shadows were so much better actually giving the corporation a face and a great one at that. I still think Graves survived but we’ll see. The new Shepherd was cool having the voice of Overlord from the og game as well as a prominent actor as a military official lol. This game was terrific, love the Makarov setup, love it all
When I played this and they were handing the picture around I literally muttered to myself "Makarov" and then Price said it straight after, was hella weird lol
Fr, my mind at first thought "Wait, Imran Zakhaev? Damn no way!" And then my brain dug a bit deeper, and literally just 2 seconds before Price said the name, I zeroed it and went "Oh..."

I remember when the old CPD would just have characters talking in the background during load screens . These new cutscenes are wayyyy more engaging. Almost like watching a movie
I wish they would’ve introduced roach in some way like bell in Cold War something like that. But since it’s confirmed the next villain is makarov I hope they introduce yuri, and sandman
Glenn Morshower as Shepherd just makes me wanna replay Battlefield 3's campaign as he also plays the big bad military man that betrays us. That and BF3's campaign is still amazing and looks incredible on pc.
In battlefield 3 they’re technically not traitors but the good guys, the protagonist is the traitor but since the “good guys” are so incompetent they fail to realise who the villain is which is ironically just like reboot shepherd
Sometimes I wonder why they haven't made a movie about all of this it would be insane. There's already 10 million people who have played call of duty and they would be tempted to watch it anyways.
I mean a general betrayed Trump, so, not like it hasn’t happened before. Dude could be charged with treason if the DOJ actually wanted to do their jobs.
Technically not betraying as he want to do favor for his country by his own way. Well, still not in a good way (sending missile to irregular militia ally that oppose against nation that not directly on war with his country) and it also messed up too hence he tried buried the damn thing up with more mess. As stated on the old MW2, "The enemy of our enemy, is my friend"
I knew it, I knew they were going to reveal Makarov. With General Shepherd disappearing, he was the one who most likely revealed Joseph Allen’s identity to him and when they found that body. Well, we all know what happened after that
Does anybody else peep how Price gives Laswell back her sidearm like Soap gives Price back his sidearm after rescuing him from the gulag.. would love to see a mission as a younger Laswell in the future.
Graves, while a POS, didn't have any ill intentions, I think. At least not initially. He tried multiple times to get them to walk away. To just lay down their arms and leave. And I think that's for 2 reasons: 1. He genuinely cared about Soap, Alejandro, Ghost, and the gang. You can just tell by their earlier interactions and that, on the plane, Graves looks at all Shadows and tells them that 141 and Mexican Special Forces were their brothers. That seemed real. And I don't just mean that they were allies that needed to be protected, but that they were genuine brothers. But he did get a little "mustache-twirly" towards the end. And 2. That he knew what 141 and Los Vaqueros were capable of. He knew their skill set, he knew their ambition, and he knew that they wouldn't stop until he was dead. Also, you can tell that Graves is a genuine dude from the flashback mission we saw. Graves was desperately trying to get his men some backup, but due to the nature of the mission, Shepherd didn't allow it. He cared about his men, and that was shown clear as day. Now, don't misconstrue. Graves is a piece of shit. He and Shadow Co. were gunning down innocent civilians in a Mexican town just for information that he never got. And it all came to a head when Soap and Graves were going at it, the latter being in a tank. So maybe Graves was this way the entire time, but I'm glad that the game didn't exactly spell it out for us. It kept it vague and left us guessing, just like real-life war. I cannot stop singing this games' praise. It is stellar from start to finish. I genuinely cannot wait for Modern Warfare 3.
I just wish Shepard has the mustache... they keep some characters the same, and not others. Also, maybe add roach? We have no American solider protagonists. Either way, sick campaign dude.
I called it before the game came out and it's all about ghost. But I thought it would be more about a enemy he knew but this works better. On how he now needs to work with a team. Instead of being a lone wolf. And also that some of this connects to his background from being betrayed or ambushed by the cartel and buried alive with a body of a former soldier.
Was watching random clips on youtube for research over my fanfiction. Came across CoD clips and eventually led me to this video. Ended up watching the whole thing. Goddamn what great production! It really looks like a movie. Learned a lot from it too though I did wonder some stuffs like.. why is TF-141 non-Americans? Is this normal? Anyway, I love the characters a lot. Captain Price is a great leader. I can see now why ppl are crazy over Ghost and Soap but my favourite has to be Alejandro. So much so that I created a character inspired by him into my fanfiction which in the end helped my story blossomed into something more.
The scene where he looks at ghost after he takes his mask off and looks at him in endearment saying ( it's good seeing you again Simon ) dam that was crazy 🔥 amazing job
How much do i love graves character bro. He perfectly showed us the difference between PMCs (pros according to him) and military (pros but under laws and rules). He calls his shadows pros as in they can get away with war crimes due to their rules of engagement while 141 and the mexican special forces work under other kind of rules and world laws. Also these shadows arent stupid at least they recognized that 141 is On a league of their own.

If he is a Lt.General he would not be a 4 star he would be a 3 star....be (brigadier General 1 star) my (major general 2 star) little (Lt. General 3 star) general (General 4 star)....so always remember Be My Little General.
@@fireboigotti2647 I thought something similar, but this is something that has confused me for a while. Why is he wearing four stars on his shoulders if he isn't of General rank?
Now that I've thought about it, I've been wondering if maybe they made Shepherd a full General in this reboot as opposed to his Lieutenant General status in the original game.
not much different than real life when you have clowns like austin representing top brass
I really like ghosts character in this. He's fucked in the head and he knows it. But he is also healing and learning to work with others a bit better.
He’s not fucked in the head, just experienced a lot of shit, pretty sure Alejandro has experienced worse
1:04:35 That was the most epic scene in the campaign
Can i just mention that video games are looking more realistic every year amd it is insane
I remember when the first Modern Warfare came out way back in the day and I thought that was the best graphics would ever get. Each year I'm proven wrong, over and over again. I'm thankful for it lol.
It's real but still cartoonish
@@ubobu3613 It's better than anything out right now.
no shit
That's the Power of Technology
I was scared the whole time thinking that ghost would die. I like the character work their doing with him easyly highlight of the games campaign!
Nah Ghost won't die this time 👻
You can't kill a ghost hermano
The animations are incredible, I can't believe some of these are animated and not actual people. Really liked the dialogue and the voice acting, it feels natural and flows nicely, the characters are all great, especially soap and ghost, i hope they'll all stay alive in future games
It's motion capture so not really animated
I love how Glenn Morshower was in previous Call of Duty games, most notably in OG Modern warfare 2 as Overlord, and in one of the cutscness he mentions giving a "blank checque" to General Shepard, then 13 years later HE plays General Shepard
What throws me off is he plays a very similiar role in the Battlefield 3 campaign. Similar animation styles too, so its pretty much the same character in a different game.
@@richardm123 that happens a lot
@@richardm123 even funnier when he also plays the same part in a couple of movies too.
@@jeffbo8748Glenn Morshower is the standard to when it comes to military commanders in media

You got to love COD, it feels so nostalgic seeing some of the main og’s 💯💯
While playing the campaign I was in the middle of a cinematic scene, and I COMPLETELY forgot I was playing a game and left Soap just laying on the ground after Graves tried to kill Soap and Ghost for like 2 minutes. I literally said, "Is he gonna move?" LMAOOOO
Most likes and replies I have gotten on a comment lol 😂
😂😂
My dumbass didn’t realize you could stand soap up and I thought you had to army crawl around because he was injured but them I remember he was only shot in the arm so I spammed random buttons until he stood up
Bro must’ve been baked asf🤣🤣

@@cdntrooper3078 😂😂😂
Loved the dynamic between Ghost and Soap into this game, they feel more 'alive' (no pun intended) than in the OG MW2. And Alejandro quickly became a favourite of mine. Overall, had an absolute blast with this game
I really appreciate the upload. I don't have time for video games these days, but I can't just drop a story I invested myself in. Thanks bro!
Coming back to this after MW3 makes me so sad, cuz this is so good then we get MW3 campaign
Same. This campaign was honestly awesome.
Oh man, when do I even start
I love this new version of 141. This game was terrific, love the Makarov setup, love it all
Well, guess who's back.
@@OTGGame had a feeling, was wayyyy too ominous
The new soap is nothing like the og soap, he has none of the leadership skills or badassery
1:16:51 Holy shit, I actually got goosebumps from seeing the words “No Russian” in that text message.
When I played this and they were handing the picture around I literally muttered to myself "Makarov" and then Price said it straight after, was hella weird lol
Really makarov
I just hope that mw3 starts off with the mission and doesn't leave it out
Fr, my mind at first thought "Wait, Imran Zakhaev? Damn no way!"
And then my brain dug a bit deeper, and literally just 2 seconds before Price said the name, I zeroed it and went "Oh..."
@@cameronkemp575 i say with the current pc bs going on, the chances are 1:9 but i'll look forward for it
that last scene got me so hyped when I saw it.
I love this reboot so much
the amount of foreshadowing from Shepard is wild
The little sideways glance that Soap and Ghost have when they realise what’s about to go down is beautiful.
Damn the moment where the argument with Graves happens and he says "Shepherd sends his regards"and Greaves' text turns red is amazing
35:57 They did the thing, they said it
Finally
46:08 The smile Alejandro does sends a chill down my spine
i love how at 16:15, Ghost interrupts Soap super roughly to say "THAT'LL DO."
i dont know why, it just cracks me up.
1:10:07 when Ghosts speaks spanish idk why but that gave me goosebumps, prob cuz of that voice and energy and he spent time with alejandro and learned as well. Brotherhood.
Pretty sure Ghost just pretended he doesn’t understand
@@Redm1st576 lol yeah thas a pretty good possibility, cuz characters like ghost like to keep shit to them selves and not expose what they are capable of.
Well it went full circle! Alejandro asked if he knew spanish and then said he would before he left!
He just said ahuevo 🤣🤣 i thought he said something more meaningful
"Where's Hassan?"
*"Where's the other Missile!?"*
Ghost always asking the right questions.
"Perfect shot, Lt...." Well, he got it the fourth time. XD
I didn't think it was possible to miss that shot and thought it was scripted because I got it in one when I played, this video proved me wrong and it's kind of hilarious 🤣
Damn MW3 was a waste of potential
52:50 bro I tell you it's scary ass shit seeing a blue name turned into a red name 1:03:00 and after that this man name turn yellow 1:04:07 AND RIGHT TO RED man this game really points out the enemies 😂
1:13:21 "Excellent shot Ghost" man missed 3 times XD
To be fair the animations of the target were really janky so its not that easy to him him on the first shot.
@@_gungrave_6802 He was aiming clearly above his head
I can watch this all day like a movie man this story was so great only with the cutscenes can’t wait for MW3
Me too
I love the chemistry that ghost and soap have. It’s like big brother/little brother
Am I the only one to complement the Audio quality? Listening through a decent set, it sounds incredible.
21:50 best part IMO
"You know I love-that-shit!"
That part alone makes me wanna buy it lol
"Good to see you again Simon"......chills🥶🥶🥶

this is amazing. im glad people make these type of videos. im too poor to afford the game lmao. Thank god for these videos so i can keep up with mw

I remember when the old CPD would just have characters talking in the background during load screens . These new cutscenes are wayyyy more engaging. Almost like watching a movie
1:05:12 the way price says that makes me think he was the one who trained ghost when he first joined the SAS
The full campaign would make such a good movie
It just did
I wish they would’ve introduced roach in some way like bell in Cold War something like that. But since it’s confirmed the next villain is makarov I hope they introduce yuri, and sandman
Ngl, I really like Phillp Graves before the betrayal 🤣
I was assuming he had his own version of task force 141 since warzone had a bunch of shadow company characters before graves was shown
the music when price says "ghost team" is just, so breath taking
Glenn Morshower as Shepherd just makes me wanna replay Battlefield 3's campaign as he also plays the big bad military man that betrays us. That and BF3's campaign is still amazing and looks incredible on pc.
I knew I recognised that voice from somewhere. Been a bit since I played the bf3 campaign
I like how the new Shepard actor, is literally a general in everything he's a part of 😅 he does the role well
The craziest thing about this story for me, is a 4-star US General betraying his nation. Never impossible, but practically, ludicrous.
Eh, ADX Supermax has one or two high ranking government officials that are in for life for betraying the nation.
Its Call of Cuty afterwards. Crazy stuff happens
Well it’s well known the CIA fund terrorist organizations to justify moving in certain territories
26:30 gave me a heart attack
4:19 the legendary part🥺❤️
Anyone notice how Shepherds name turns red at about 1 hour during the cutscene?
He cemented himself as an enemy the moment he threatened them.
Graves really doesn't seem like a villain he just seems like orders are orders
I knew it, I knew they were going to reveal Makarov. With General Shepherd disappearing, he was the one who most likely revealed Joseph Allen’s identity to him and when they found that body. Well, we all know what happened after that
Thank you, for making this. I got sick and couldn’t go to school and my mom didn’t want to buy me mw2, so when I saw this I watched the whole thing.
Even though not every game was good, COD will always be the best Video Game Franchise!
what abt gta ..
1:04:35 epic scene even gives me goosebumps
Shepherd looks like the guy from transformers
@@Novasigmia he is.

You got to appreciate the little colour change on Shepard's name at 1:03:17
Just finished replaying it about 30 mins ago on veteran mode !!!! 🔥
“Ghost, you are danger close to the zone. This arrow’s gonna pack a punch.”
Ghost: “Copy, approved.”
🥶🥶🥶🥶
I never noticed that Graves outright says “I have enough shadows here to take over a whole country” right before doing exactly that
this one line is deep
war isn´t about friends
it´s about enemies
- "General Shepherd"
When he said makarov i got so hype
1:04:00 kinda ties in the lore from Cod Ghosts (still say that was narratively the coolest setting)
Mom, dad, thank you for making me learn spanish cuz that made enjoying the campaign so much better
Its funny to me that people shoot Hassan so quickly when Soap's about to be thrown off 💀
I like how Ghost cuts off Soap by saying “THAT’LL DO” lmao 🤣
I just replayed this bad boy on veteran mode 🔥 man it was a hell hole let me tell you 🤣
I just wish Shepard has the mustache... they keep some characters the same, and not others. Also, maybe add roach? We have no American solider protagonists. Either way, sick campaign dude.
They need to bring the SEALs and Delta Force.
The moment of alejandro and valeria was same scenario of yuri and makarov...
That’s the old backstory his new backstory hasn’t been revealed
Even though Shepard does betray 141 and the MSC's, he still is shown as a competent general , which made him interesting imo.

141 also get away with war crimes, shadow company is just more open about it
