He didn't ban it, war time election would be required for Ukraine to re-elect a new leader, even then Russia has the advantage due to migration there!
So no, an election for Zelensky is not gonna happen till he either gives up, no longer alive or a coup happens, which all 3 are not likely anytime soon.
Even then, Ukraine cannot elect a new leader, otherwise they'll lose support from other countries and put the cinflict at risk of turning.
If Ukraine get's a new leader not a clown who is puppet of west, that might end with peace treaty with Russia.
So the west and the advocate of democracy doesn't want the election to be held in Ukraine.

But the west claimed he was the legitimate president, although the President the people elected was still in power.
