That's a good way to start my morning at work I appreciate the video but I tell you what Jason if you make a shirt that says no they don't live in these bins I would buy it lmao
Lmao! That's going to be my new key phrase Haha. I have to repeat it so many times! How to people thing a 6fr snake lives in a 1.5 ft bin. Always amazes me
I love you channel there is always so much information in them so much to learn I am a new boa momma so I try not to miss any new videos you bring out 🙂
That's was so informative 👏 the fact that you show the morph steps it's a game changer that the other RUclips channel make it more difficult to understand the morph step only with word but that was clear
Interesting how you breed the various morphs but your right, it’s getting harder to find the normal color patterns now from all the cross breeding. Those are beautiful boas you have though 🐍🐍🐍
Man, I bought a 2 month old hypo columbian from craigslist. I dont know what genetics. I (WISH )I did. Since I started your channel, Ive learned so much and now plan on my next purchase with you!! Knowledge! Keep it Movin !!
Yes! I’ve been waiting for videos like this. This + this gives you that morph. And what you said about a lot of people breeding too many genes together is exactly how I feel. You are my new favorite. It helps that you specialize in boas as well. You’re awesome. Keep up the great work and the great videos. We really appreciate it.
This was actually helpful with my corn snakes, I’ve been trying to find out how to produce a snow corn. Thank you. Also when you have moon glow boas available I’ll probably be on your site.
This video is so helpful! I've been out of reptiles for a few years but am back and thinking about getting into breeding boas since they have always been my favorites but haven't been able to find any good straight forward videos on which morphs go into what until now! Like you said, everyone has everything so jumbled it makes it hard for those of us just getting in to morphs to really see what the specific genes do for the colors/patterns individually
Awesome video. Very interesting. Would you be able to mention in a video the difference between the albino and the sharp albino. I’ve just bought a baby sharp and I’d love to know the differences
Im so glad you mentioned they dont live in those tiny bins. because it is only a matter of time before some idiot ask you if they live in those lol. Or says your an abuser for making the snake live in that tiny box. Keep up the great content.
@@JasonsExoticReptiles Thanks for the response. I'm currently running two RHPs off of one probe. Starting to think that may not be the best practice. Appreciate you.
Sorry I meant, you talk about that anerythristic boa which are single gene can be hard to find, what species do you like to work with that is a single gene? Thank you
Post more dude I need more info on my new boa’s. I was just given 2 T +. And I need all the help I can be given. I know about ball pythons but now I need help on caring for these hatchlings.
Do the snows and moonglows get as bright yellow as the albino? I have seen some "dull yellow/ dirty white....." I have seen some "Bright yellow". How can I tell what ones will be brighter in color like the one in the thumb nail? Do snows get brighter than moonglows or is it just genetics?
I honestly don't know enough about it to really have any thoughts. I've seen a few pictures but other than that haven't heard much. From what I saw it doesn't look like there's anything game-changing.
Hi!! Could you please make a video on what combinations you can breed with a ghost? I have a ghost (pos super ghost) bred with an organgasm ghost and motley ghost. Would love to know what to do with him! Thanks!
If the baby carries both hypo genes from parents with albino and anery basically a Super Moonglow right? Would u see eventually a nearly completely white snake with very little pattern if any if you breed 2 Super Moonglows together and the baby was fortunate to carry all the genes?
What would you get if one parent misses the anery gene? My female is Anery het. Albino and my male is Hypo het. Albino. So that means they couldn't produce a moonglow right? But could their offspring for example produce one? Or could they produce sunglows or would the anery of the mum get in the way?
@ to my knowledge, there has never been evidence that snakes benefit from UVB. They metabolize their prey differently than lizards and they don’t need it to utilize the calcium
Does anyone know? I have heard that you cant breed to visual albino boas (specifically Kahl) without getting genetic abnormalities. Is this true? I cant find any actual information about this other then people saying its a thing. Do you have to breed a het Albino to a visual Albino? Thanks for your help.
I bred a lipstick line sunglow male to a hypo female to make some hets. I got 11 babies, 2 normals, and eight hypos. But, there was an oddball one that looks more of a caramel color with a black head. Any idea what that could be??
Depends what they are. What is the male and female. As long as there is the right combination of recessive and incomplete dominant traits. Both need to be either anery or het anery and albino or her albino and one needs to be a hypo.
Hmmm.the other snowboa was pure white wasn’t it? If not, what is the pure white one that I said in a previous video, seemed so well acclimated to being handled.
Less than 1 minute in and I'm confused lol...I'll just stick to the "what's that snake, I love the patterns (etc), what is it....yeah I'll have 1 thank"...(after research) lol...love your tats by the way
Jason's Exotic Reptiles Sam try messing around with morph markets genetics calculator really look at what het and homozygous slap some combos together and see what % is different morphs you get. Fun little tool to mess with to learn a little something about snake genetics. Could even make for a fun video for Jason if he knows how to do overlays in editing
Het is short for heterozygous. It basically means there is a half set of genetics from a recessive trait. Meaning if you bred with a full visual (homozygous) you would get about half full visual animals and half hets
I have a ghost het khal and a snow i know i could get snows and moonglows wat about sunglows or albinos or ghosta het khal morph market says snows moonglow anery and ghost het khal why not sunglows het anery or albino het anery and so on

Great video! Would you say a snake that is soaking and doesn't appear to have mites could possibly be going into shed?
Could be. Could be too hot or the humidity could be too low as well.
@@JasonsExoticReptiles Thanks for the response. I'm currently running two RHPs off of one probe. Starting to think that may not be the best practice. Appreciate you.

Can you maybe do something about the different strains of albino and anery and which are compatable with which. I get confused by all that.

It will not hurt him, but he also won’t benefit much from it

@@JasonsExoticReptiles she is albino het anery and he is a sunglow het anery. They have other things in them i have it written on the enclosures
Absolutely you have a good chance at making a few with that pair.
What would I breed with a sunglow to make a moonglow?
I think you have to get them to breed exactly at the full moon or new moon.
What one is closer to pure white, a snow or moonglow?
They should be about the same but the moon glow will have more reduced saddles
Hmmm.the other snowboa was pure white wasn’t it? If not, what is the pure white one that I said in a previous video, seemed so well acclimated to being handled.
Yes. white as well but with thicker saddles compared to the moonglow.
If the female hypo is het for salmon and the male is albino, will it still produce the same result?
A hypo cannot be het for salmon. A salmon is another version of hypo. A hypo to an albino will make hypos and normals all 100% get for albino
@@JasonsExoticReptiles thanks Jason. You have the best channel on RUclips for reptiles.
I have a moonglow and it seems really difficult to find much info on them. My question is, is the moonglow a bci or bcc or can it be either?
