Its obvious people sold sword en shield to stock up on scarlet violet. Its just a matter of time for people to invest in sword and shield again. It comes in waves.
I am collecting pokemon since base set droped in the 90s. What is happening with modern pokemon card prices in the last few months is just insane. It is a consequence of a huge influx of non pokemon fans, investors, flippers, speculators and poketubers that hype prices up, combined with the greedy decision of the Pokemon co. to lower pull rates and increase sealed price. Never have I seen such greed enter this hobby, and I have been in it since day one. My advice? I would not buy any of these super hyped prices. No modern card should cost 200 dollars, regardless of pull rates. When base set came out you could buy a master set for 500 dollars, and a charizard was 100 dollars. Obsidian flames master set, one of the weakest sets in SV, is arpund 585 dollars. Let that sink in...
@@BearManPiggy Yes they should, bu they will not grow in value like vintage cards did, simply because of higher population, higher preservation from collectors, and gatekeeping rare cards from children. If majority of kids these days dont even know how an Umbreon Vmax alternate art secret rare looks like (because of incredibly low pull rates, high priced product and hoarding from whales...), who is going to have nostalgia for it in 20 to 30 years? I am not saying modern will not rise in value, it will as every collectable, but nowhere near the value of how 90s and 2000s vintage is...
So far one of my favourite cards from the S&V era is the Ninetales IR from OF, it’s not a terribly expensive or difficult card to pull but the artwork is beautiful
Temporal forces was the best luck I’ve ever had, opened 10 packs, 5th pack had ghastly ar and the gouging fire SAR, 9th pack had the iron crown. Won’t open another one lol I also pulled a god pack on my fifth pack of 151
It’s wild to me that S&V illustration rares are climbing when you can get most of the original cosmic eclipse secret rare set(the first IR set) in a PSA 10 for $30USD a card, versus ungraded modern for $30 a card🤷♂️
Suspicious growth in April across too many cards. Staying away from those weird charts and sticking to things that didn’t double for no reason overnight.
there could be market manipulation, but if it eases your mind, ive recently started collecting and not going for value as much as just cards I like, so when looking through recent affordable sets some of the best arts I enjoyed coincidentally were on this list, essentially telling me I'm not the only person who liked those art, I firmly believe Its just supply and demand the beautiful cards are sought after and the mid looking ones of similar rarity just don't have the same demand.
As a channel that speaks to the market... I find it sad how could you talk about Espeon like the price increase is a normal thing, even commending it, and fail to mention how it was manipulated on TCGplayer? Almost every other place has the card listed at about $220-$240 and not the listed 317. Needed a thumbnail? I dunno.
I have every single alternate art card from sword and shield evolving skies and a couple other sets except a couple VMAX. Should I sell them? People are offering me more than I paid and I need money. But my vintage cards are still way less what’s happening?
I remember someone saying that “S&V had killed Pokémon, killed it”. I knew it would all work itself out at some point
lol
Greninja is going up because of how hard it is to pull. RUclipsrs did 1000 packs. Another 800 packs. Not even a single one.
i bought 3 blister packs and pulled it on the first pack

Buy Japanese. That steelix is like 2$... psa 10 magicfish 50 to 60 dollars. Dont support the dumb pumpers. This is not an index fund.

if a charizard was 100 dollars in the 90's there most definitely should be cards worth 300 now.

GRENINJA IS TRASH DONT COMPARE IT TO BLAZIKEN NI COMPARISON
I agree lol that Blaziken card is sooo dope. The Greninja looks weird with that crown 👑.
@jaimewinz it just looks messy af haha
While u stock up in em urself 😏😏😏 watch it go up like crazy.

Love your channel, mate. Keep up the great work

Get them graded lol 😂 it’s worth it if you really trying to make some good money
@@inkedBc back when I was collecting grading them didn’t make a difference in price. They are all pack fresh so maybe it’s worth it now?
Do you think the price on greninja will stay or go for more? Planning on getting one but I don’t know if its too early to get one
Too early
First lol
