I was at Tokyo Game Show yesterday, Saturday the 23rd, and I stopped by VIRPIL booth to check their (Coming to Japan Soon) store and HOTAS goodies.
Spoke with the company rep and talked about flight sims and space sims, then talked about War Thunder.
I asked if he ever watched a War Thunder CC named Hunter. VIRPIL rep replied: "You kidding?! I love that channel. There is no way on god's green earth he's flying with Mouse + Keyboard."

I really hope they fix the tanks floating around on the ground in the TGP camera. Its extremely annoying when trying to hit the small GBUs.

They do not believe that the SAMs in the game have lost all effectiveness to counteract jets with this type of weaponry, even a Pantsir-S1 cannot handle an F16 flying at 8k altitude above the battlefield, this is a simple turn of events. 8g evades a 32g missile, or the 50g that the VT1 has (in my opinion all the Sam missiles are nerfed in terms of the Gs overload they have) and if we add to that that the maps, in my opinion, are already obsolete ( with few exceptions) for top tier, like Hunter in this video, a plane can see a SAM much sooner than the latter detects the plane.
I cant wait to see some Sim footage from you man. I ran it in Sim to wrap up spading it and it is truly a wonderful multirole experience. Every sortie I could knock 6 ground targets, a full base, and some A2A kills before needing to rearm and refuel.

This plane has been one of the best experiences I've ever had in GRB. It's just so versatile in every possible way.
Ground attack? In matched in pure ordinance. Combat Air Patrol? 6 x AIM-9Ms and TWS will close down the whole airspace.
Can you do a vid on the new hud for this for sim players? I noticed a new bombing reticle for the gbus once you have a target locked but im not sure how it works lol
Hunter with the desync issues War thunder has, it's hardly matters against what SAM you play against. It's just a matter of finding SAM and launching fire and forget ordnance at it.
Now we just need gaijin to add a keybind for us to disable the mavs camera. When I run both GBUS and Mavs it disables the laser lock but luckily i can re-enable quick enough before the bomb loses track.
They did add that, you can now hotkey the TGP and mav camera seperatly

It's so funny how they give the a6e a better camera then a plane for 2006 lol yet again this thing is truely amazing but the figure out a way to "balence it" I love this plane but I'm sorry this camera has gen 2 or even 3 thermals so why is the image so bad?

Hunter do you know why I can't get CCRP laser guided bomb in cockpit HUD in Sim? How can I know when to drop the bomb while flying straight? I'm using F-14B and MiG-27K
It is not implemented for GBUs in sim, yet .. but with some planes you can make it appear if you carry unguided bombs with you, at least one .. test it with F-14B, carry 2x GBUs + 2x unguided 1000lb, then select your GBU and switch sight mode to "bomb", you will see the CCRP line while selecting your Paveway.

Amazing vid Hunter. Just spaded the f16c and I have a problem. Every time when I switch to the targeting pod it destabilizes. It is a big problem because when I drop gbu and I want to check if it is going to the right place the TP destabilizes and the gbu goes somewhere else. I have already turned off auto seeker stabilization but that helps only with agm. Can you help me? It doesn't happen in your vid. Thanks
Thanks a lot my friend, maybe you want to try the new button in controls, "targeting optics view" button, it will take you directly to the TGP sight and ignore the TV view.
@@Hunter_i86 I am already using the new keybinds. I think the TP has some sort of limit to the stabilizazion and when the aircraft or helicopter changes directions of their movement a bit too quckly the TP can't stand the movement And destabilazes. I tested it out and found that when the aircraft is moving in one direction or turning without any harsh adjustments the TP stais stabilazed but when I make some harsh turn it needs few seconds to figure out where to look and than it stabilazes. If I go to the TP too soon after a harsh turn it destabilazes.
That's why I'm currently only playing at 10.3 in order to get the PSO.

Why do mavericks just do nothing to Leopards?
I quite like TWS for the F-16C it helps find air targets without alerting them :)
Hunter what is your opinion for ground maps Gaijin removing all sniping positions , we're barely using the Rangefinder anymore , especially top tier is becoming kind of QCB battles
On some of the big maps like Fields of Poland and European Province it is more driving and zero sniping now, the first kill happens after maybe 3 mins of the battle start and engage range is around 300 meters.
It is very bad, arcade and childish. My disliking to tanks gameplay in top tier has increased a little more. Even playing SPAA now is more interesting.
Every time I watch a hunter video, I get in the mood to play WT, but then I remember I'm not hunter 😅

I stopped playing with that style after Sky Guardians, I still see people doing it though .. but in my opinion it is gambling, if there is no SPAA you will dominate and if there was one with good awareness you are done, I also feel I stopped playing real CAS, I play SEAD more .. I always search for SPAAs. In this video USSR was on my side always so it wasn't a real experience.

It's a GR.7 but can actually disengage and recommit. A nightmare for Pantsirs.

Good video hunter! I’ve been having problems with the targeting pod on the f16c, whenever I fire a a agm it deactivates the stabilization
of the pod and it’s really annoying. I’ve never had this problem with the A7k.

@@Hunter_i86 Got around to testing it, fixed the problem. I noticed if you turn off the option above it (auto enabling of aim lock after shooting) it stops that weird bug with the agm where it locks again to the same target/area and wont stop till you switch back to another weapon.

How do you just float above the map at 4k altitude and not immediately get shot down if i ever try that its instant death i gotta go really high or super low to stand a chance. Hopefully you make some guide content sometime. For added context my only top tier jet is the German MIG 29 which might be why since it doesnt warn me about anything lol.
Man RWR of MiG-29 is totally blind relative to enemy air defense, it can see only the search radar of ADATS among all top tier SPAA.
How do you get your sight stabilization to remain active after firing a maverick? Whenever I fire a maverick, sight stabilization automatically disables. (The green "X" around your crosshair).

I changed it, there are a lot of colors you can check.
Hey hunter what setting is it to see all the info on the left when in the targeting pod view been trying to find it so I can tell when my mavericks are in point or track when locking.

I mastered using the f16 a for cas (knowing how to loft in the gbu8s on spawn at spaa) but i have no idea how to use the laser designator. Probably the same reason why i never used the f14b. The whole thing throws me off and all my bombs and even missles over shoot
hey hunter just wanted to know if you're having a similar issue, when using TV weapons and trying to unlock a target it just relocks onto the target? seems to be a bug caused by the update.
Hello, I thought it is a bug too but just now some kind guy told me in the comments that there is an option for it, enable aim lock something, disable it. Tomorrow will check it :D

The whole mode is a mistake. They should replace it with RB EC.

So I’ve just got the Gripen and now trying to use the LITENING II targeting pod and the mavericks togheter. But can’t seem to get the right keybinds.
I’ve binded: Weapon lock (air to ground), Lock Guided bomb, sight stabilization to the same key
And : toggle laser designator and active target point to another to see if any of them work or if they work togheter.
I’ve watched your videos on youtube primarily this one and for you it seems like you have it all in order which means i am obviously doing something wrong. And with so many different keybinds that to me all seem like they do the same stuff it’s confusing knowing what to even use.
The main issue for me is that when trying to lock a moving target with the litening II it doesn’t really slave the maverick making it target the tanks position but simply not following it, ending up in the maverick being locked right into the ground and not the tank. But the weirdest part is that sometimes it works and other times it doesn’t. I’ve talked to people on discords and watched videos and asked on forums and it still doesn't seem like i can fix it, mainly as there isn't any speficic video or tutorial on how to fix this
Note: I'm using mouse aim settings + keyboard and mouse
Any idea how to fix it? Or what keybinds you use?
Lock Weapon Air To Ground "RMB + X" for TV missiles
Lock Guided Bombs button for TV bombs like GBU-8 (Gripen doesn't have them), but my button is "RMB + X"
Sight Stab button is for throwing a POI on the ground or stabilize the TGP sight. "RMB + F"
@@Hunter_i86 Thanks for the tips, It works a lot easier now but mainly have an issue of trying to get the mav to lock on at longer ranges. Only seems to want to lock at around 3-2km in

He's firing them from the Targeting Pod on the F16C, so you just keep locking and firing. When you fire from the AGM Camera you need to reset to swap cameras between missiles, but if the Pod is mounted then you just keep going

Hello, hmmm .. I guess F-16C, Mirage 2000 and Su-25T, don't underestimate the frog, it has much better RWR than MiG-29SMT and MiG-27K.

Doesn't the F16 have a RWR with the same functions as the F14B?
F-14B RWR band is C-J, while F-16C RWR band is E-J. Tomcat B RWR has two more additional frequencies over F-16C which are C & D.
Why my thermal imaging isn’t clear like here?
It depends on the plane, same with tanks .. some have 1st gen thermal and some have 2nd gen thermal imaging.
AGM65D launched at 9K away on a moving target and it still landed??? What's the actual tracking range for the 65D? Or is this an IR AGM thing?
All IR guided weaponry have around a 9-10km track range against ground targets. TV guided stuff is still lower range.
I've had my 65Ds track and hit from 13km out. 14km seems to be the hard limit on Track, but it'll lock in Point from much farther.
Is the flight computer systems audio a mod?

Hey man, both are great .. in terms of fire and forget weapons, smokeless Maverick D is a better choice than PGM to do SEAD.

Do you know why Mirage 2000-5F can drop gbu-12 at speeds > match 1.0 but f16C can't? Is it on purpose, a bug? F16D also has this limitation. Thanks and great video as always!
I think it is a bug, and it is not the first time .. for example PGM is under Mach 1 on Mirage while it can be dropped over Mach 1 on Tornado. Thanks :)

Bro, MiG-29SMT is not even close in my opinion, after Sons of Attila RWRs became more realistic and SPO-15 is totally blind when it comes to enemy air defense systems, its band is (G H I) only, so it literally sees nothing on the ground .. it can detect only the search radar of ADATS among all top tier SPAAs, that's it .. which is understandable because MiG-29 is an air superiority fighter, not a strike aircraft.
