    Good thinking, Dade. As with any “disaster” we all need to be prepared. Be aware. Don’t panic. Get organized. VOTE!

      Lol "panicking" has saved some people's lives. Be prepared, have a plan, inform and vote.

    Thanks for your level-headed approach to this. Information, and options, are everything.

    Hey Dade, I came across your videos recently. I am 20 years old in college just starting my transition. I’m super scared for the future of our country and my Saftey. Thank you for sharing your story and making me feel confident enough to be myself.

    Thank you for speaking out about this issue! I've read it and find it frightening!

    Thank you for this video. I am a 68 year old single gay man living in NW Ohio. I am terrified that Trump will become reelected, and project 2025 will not just be horrible for the LGBTQ community, but for millions of others as well. Of course it is always good to be prepared for any type of a disaster situation, but I don't know how I can prepare myself for the possibility of the physical dangers, like being attacked.
    I'm 2 hours from the Canadian border, I might have to keep a suitcase packed.
    I wish the gay community was more organized, united and supportive; I do believe we all need to band together and watch out for each other.
    Best wishes to you and your family
    Tim

    Thank you for speaking on this! I'm in the same boat with keeping an eye on things and making sure my documents are up to date. Definitely not of the fear mongering nature either. Would just rather be prepared.

    Hey Dade, it's always good to see you! It's sooo sad that you even need to think about things like that due to politics.. Stay strong. Greetings and hope for the U.S. from Germany.

    I'm terrified. I work for the gov't and I'm thinking I don't want to be here if that project goes down. I'm poor and exhausted and I have no idea what to do. Thanks for the rational thoughts amid all this mess.

    ❤ Not only are you handsome but I love your calm demeanor in a very frightening time. As if being trans isn't hard enough at this time one can only imagine the stress & difficulty 2025 would bring. I just don't understand why Repubicans have such an agenda against trans people. There's so few out there that it doesnt impact their lives in any shape or form. Thanks for making people aware Dade 👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

    We are operating in a similar manner. We are too old for Canada from what I have read. Do you mind sharing countries you’ve considered that would be open to allowing families to immigrate?

      It's been hard honestly. Many countries allow migration, but it really depends on what you want. We need to stay close to the US for some reasons... so we are limited by that.

    Your right this is a very scary time in the US, especially if Trump is elected. His last time as President was filled with choas and i can just imagine what his Administration would bring. Most of my family are die hard Trump supporters. Which i dont understand since we are Hispanic and all his racist remarks about brown people and blacks. Hopefully it doesnt come to be but also both Congress and Senate need to be Democratic. At least til the Republicans come back being more inclusive. Also their extreme views are changed.

    Yes, there's been a very severe back lash against people and it has particularly targeted trans people as well as womens' reproductive autonomy. It's very concerning. By the way, I love your daughter's song. I found it inspiring considering what we may be in for in the near future.

    I already left the U.S. for many reasons but one being the political state of the country. It's not a welcoming place for people of color, LGBTQ folks, or poor people. If you can I highly recommend making an exit plan if you are able. It doesn't feel worth it fighting for a country that doesn't respect you and has such rampant gun violence.

      @@upperhandMARS Open your eyes friend. What Trump started when he was in office has resulted is trans affirming care being banned for minors is 22 states. I literally cannot list the damage he has done. For me personally, he made it legal to fire someone for being trans, and I was. If at this point, you back Trump - I have nothing to say. Go in peace.

    • @upperhandMARS
      @upperhandMARS 6 месяцев назад

      @@ElectricDade Ironic that you're telling me to open my eyes while you blindly ignore the fact that MINORS can not make adult decisions. Especially one that has absolutely no guarantee of solving the root cause of the problem and that doesn't guarantees a child will not grow up to regret what adults let them do. If adults are coming out to speak on the lack of care and on regret...why on earth are we letting kids do this? Furthermore, most of the heat we all get today is because we refuse to keep children out of this mess. Shame you can't get your personal feelings out of it and see the big picture for what it is.

    • @ea42455
      @ea42455 6 месяцев назад

      @ElectricDade I taught in both middle school and high school. Gender affirming care (i.e. medical intervention) should absolutely be banned for minors. I've witnessed the social contagion and peer pressure to be part of "the group."
      If a kid wants to social transition, then fine and dandy... but chemical and medical measures... hell no.
      Upon reaching that magic 18 years of age and if the individual's desire... the necessity... to transition is still felt, then as a recognized adult it's then an option to follow that path.
      But to intervene upon a minor's body with chemicals and scalpels while the minors psychological development is in no way well established... then no way, absolutely not.
