    In this tutorial, we will cover how to create a wavy wall in Grasshopper. The final output will be based on the points that are randomly positioned on the wall. Their location can be adjusted by the slider Seed (iteration number). Once we position points, they will be used as attractors to push away the control points of the horizontal curves. Modified curves will be guide rails placed in Sweep2 in order to create a carving effect.
    The extended version of this tutorial is going to be a separate video that's going to cover how to combine sine function within mathematical expression with attractors, either curves or points. Also, you will learn how to exclude control points that are closer to the edge in order to keep the final rectangular shape.

    Is it possible to see a tutorial of the same effect applied to a wall that is curved in planimetry on a specific shape? thanks

    Thanks for this tutorial! Is there a way to make vertical or diagonal waves?

    • @HowtoRhino
      @HowtoRhino  3 года назад

      Sure! You can use vertical lines as an original curves instead of horizontal ones.

    Great tutorial, thank you. I have only started with Rhino a few weeks ago and this was my very first Grasshopper tutorial. Managed to get to the end. However, the last Split Brep gives me an error (Split did not succeed). Also, the last Brep Join throws an error (Data conversion failed from number to Brep). I could not figure out the problem, I guess must be some wrong connection. It would help to have an opportunity to see the whole Grasshopper diagram at the end.

      I would check for all the 'flatten' icons. (downward arrow icon)

      Hi Fernando,
      You're welcome. I am glad you are interested in learning Rhino and Grasshopper. I am not quite sure why did you get the error, but I would suggest to download the file if you want to see the whole script www.patreon.com/posts/wavy-wall-in-50491630

      Thank you@@surbhighodke133. Yes I checked all the flattened and simplified modules as per the tutorial. I suspect it is a wrong link but I can't check on the video because you never get to see the whole script. I have the very last Split (the one with the error connected to the Extrude)

    I got stuck at 3:52. how to place numbers 0, -1 on the panel? how to edit the panel? I'm at a beginner level using grasshopper.

      Hi Surbhi, I had the same problem. Right-click on the panel and select "Multiline data" from the popup menu, then you are able to insert the values.
