i've always wanted to start a youtube as a hobby because i love making videos & wanna be a filmmaker but now that i've finished school and don't have a job i'm conflicted, because if I start YT as a job to get some money right off the bat i'm afraid it's gonna be a bit like selling myself? because nowadays lots of people JUST do it for the money and i don't want to be like that at all, but still I don't want to be a burden for my family.
it's very conflicting, also because the community from outside seems very scary (like high school, as you said.). and it's even harder for me because i'm not british, i'm italian, but i grew up watching exclusively british youtubers and I would never want to be considered a part of the Italian community, because I feel like I don't belong to that even more.
so yeah, sorry for the moody comment on such a lighthearted video

Hey! The cool thing about being a small RUclipsr, because you will be for awhile, is that you get to work through these issues. Once you've been doing RUclips for awhile and not making money, because a lot of people won't, you find what you love about it. As a tiny RUclipsr, I'd encourage you to just begin! It's the very best way to start & most the things you're afraid of you won't have to worry about until farther down the line, if you find you like it! x

moscardo from personal experience, take it slow, and don't expect things to happen overnight. Also, try not to tell everyone. I knew someone that had a channel and went on about it all the time. Good luck! I hope it goes really well :) xx
I also grew up watching British youtubers and I'm Dominican. I started making videos a couple months ago but I feel more comfortable doing them in English rather than Spanish (which is my first language). My advice is to start making videos and keep trying to get a job. Also I can't make money on youtube because that feature is not available in my country so check if it is available in yours.

high five for (almost) winner of the hula hoop contest at school. There were only two of us by the end, we'd been going for an hour and 15 minuets and I was thirsty. Someone tried to pass me water (I had already managed to eat a strawberry pancake) but they knocked the hoop and I lost. I think it bruised my waist, I couldn't hula hoop for weeks.
