i mostly ignored mr beast but when he did team trees and team seas is when i noticed he was a problem. I work in sustainability i am highly educated in this field of work. when when i saw HOW those initiatives worked, it was really frustrating that they were wasting all that money and effort.
    to summarize:
team trees partners with the arbor day foundation. a 150 year old organization that has equally old fashioned ideas about what counts as natural. AKA make NA look like Europe with European trees. it has been responsible for plating and spreading a huge amount of invasive species in north america. and they often work to destroy natural grasslands cuz they only care about blindly planting trees. they are not an eco friendly organization and cause more problems then they solve.
The technique team seas uses to clean trash is causing more damage to ocean ecosystems than it helps. most of the life in the open ocean lives at the surface or the bottom. team seas is literally a troll net being dragged on the surface. it has killed a shit load of surface dweling organisms.

I can understand Markiplies, I can understand Asmongold, I can even understand Tyler1 and many, MANY others. I have nothing with MrBeast. The warning signs were ignored until they were impossible to brush under the rug - and more importantly, it came out that he was lying about those giveaways, which wipes away the good.
