I have been trying to decide what I was going to do to cover the popcorn ceilings in our dinning room for YEARS. I have had several ideas MOST expensive I could do this Stamp technique on 1/4 inch plaster board before I hang it, and it would look FABULOUS. I think I would also seal it first and adjust putting the border a little farther from the sides just enough that Crown molding won't cover it. I cant WAIT to show this video to my wife. Thanks ladies!

Could you do just the first troweling and then glaze or paint over?

can you paint the first coat of joint compound after you stencil? I'd like to do this as an accent wall and have the color underneath be the same as the other walls.

Love this look. Do you apply a sealer or a clear coat to finish as dry wall compound is very porous. If so what do you recommend.

Ayla de la Morena yes! I applied a matte sealer by General Finishes called “Flat Out Flat” :)

Love, love this technique, I could not hear what type of paint was used to color the joint compound, could you tell me what the paint is? I have searched the inet and can’t find anything in powder form. Thank you

Question, what kind of sheet is that, holding the stamps?

What brand of joint compound did you use? I just tried DAP and it is too watery. I let it sit awhile and it still didn't work.

90 minute hot mud works best. Brand isn’t critical. I use the brand Home Depot carries.

As a faux painter I find this method to be a pain in the patootie! Maybe ok for DYI..... but very time consuming and highly inconsistent and irregular.
