One of the best rock songs ever .Saw them live last night and they didn’t miss a beat.Daltry can still belt out that famous scream .Magnificent performance !
When cell phones first hit the scene I was certain some new company was going to license the intro. Townsend wrote the best ringtone 30 years ahead of his time.
I saw The Who at Anaheim Stadium in 1975 and I have never seen a stadium rock like that. So much so in fact, that the announcer came over the speakers pleading with fans in the upper decks to calm down because of worries the structure might fail. Those upper decks were moving some 4-5 feet up and down. It was incredible.
I have been hearing the intro to this song for years but couldnt find it. Ive asked google, alexa, siri to identify the song by humming it with no success because how can you hum the intro to this song? Finally. Found It. Today.🤯🤯🤯
THIS SONG SOUNDS SO GOOD IT Has GOOD SOUND RHYTHM AND BEAT. THIS SONG IS REALLY GOOD. BABA O' RILEY Is A VERY SWEET GOOD NAME and A Very GOOD SWEET SONG NAME. They DID GREAT With This Song They Did An Outstanding Great Job With This Song They Did It REAL Good. I ALWAYS LOVE TO REMEMBER THIS FAVORITE SONG BY THE WHO FOREVER AND ALWAYS. It’s kinda annoying and sounds very badly put together tbh, like someone sat in their bedroom with an annoying tune and decided to try and make it sound better with drums
@@eddieupchurch6724 dude i know man it coulda been 20 by now but im tryna save this song so it dont get outplayed for me. the who is legendary my old 5th grade teacher instilled some good rock in me for sure.
I'm really big into trains, and whenever my friend and I do some railfanning I play this song in my head. Great song when you got an express train coming at you at 79 mph
I can’t be the only one who pictures Peter and Lois Griffin in the kitchen and Peter sings this to avoid answering a question. “Out here in the fields- yeah, that was me. I was the one who threw up in the sink….I fight for my meals.” 😂😂😂
I’m assuming it was named after a girl he dated back in the day, 60’s and 70’s was tough era but it give birth to the love and rock and roll culture that our parents grew up too!
Eddy: "Welcome, passengers, I'm Captain Eddy of Eddy's Creek Cruise, where you get more bang for your buck! I'd like ya to sit back, relax, and enjoy the soothing sounds of Eighty-Eight Fingers Edward." Edd: This instrument is so annoying. 0:00
This song reminds me of Kansas rather than Journey. I can just imagine Steve Walsh singing while playing the Lowrey Organ, Kerry Livgren on piano and guitar, Rich Williams on guitar, Dave Hope on bass, Phil Ehart on drums and Robby Steinhardt singing Townshed’s bridge part while playing the violin outro
Who else heard this song in the Son of Sam? I didn't discover the song from that movie but heard this song in that movie. Legend of a historical film about a serial killer and other things. 🙌🏻
It's that guy with 1 dog who loves doughnut toys and his other dog is tired of them and starts beating them, then the owner got him unlimited doughnut toys 😂
Baba O'Riley The Who Out here in the fields I farm for my meals I get my back into my living I don't need to fight To prove I'm right I don't need to be forgiven Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah Don't cry Don't raise your eye It's only teenage wasteland Sally, take my hand We'll travel south cross land Put out the fire And don't look past my shoulder The exodus is here The happy worlds are near Let's get together Before we get much older Teenage wasteland It's only teenage wasteland Teenage wasteland Oh, yeah Teenage wasteland They're all wasted!

The best song of all time by the WHO
When cell phones first hit the scene I was certain some new company was going to license the intro. Townsend wrote the best ringtone 30 years ahead of his time.
Nice. I think I'll make it mine!!
Lol. He was a visionary to say the least. Standing on the shoulders of giants I say
Loved since I was a teenager in the 70’s. Never ceases to amaze

It brought me here
🎶Out here in the fields!🎶 Yeah that was me I was the one who threw up in the sink.
Those first 3 minutes are iconic. That's why you came.
The rest of the song is just.... there.
Just finished The Winchesters, and had to add this to my road music after they had it playing for Baby's return.

Yep Family Guy brought me here even as I’ve heard this song on the radio numerous times
O título da canção é uma combinação dos nomes das influências filosófica e musical da obra, Meher Baba e Terry Riley.

The start of the song reminded me of One Direction -Best Song ever🎉😊

Was watching HOUSE md and found this treasure
The ending with the violin is my favorite part!
It automatically reminds me Gary Sinise.
I'm just a victim of good series.
I love this song a lot ❤
Finally, after six years, I find this song
I mean, Jesus took me six years, but I finally found it
CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY THIS SONG IS NAMED “BABA O’REILLY”??? These words are never said in the lyrics
I’m assuming it was named after a girl he dated back in the day, 60’s and 70’s was tough era but it give birth to the love and rock and roll culture that our parents grew up too!
It's online
Pete Townshend was a meher baba devote...
And the Riley comes from Terry Riley, a musical influence of Townsend.
No kidding!!! It was so hard to find with this stupid name lol

This is definitely 1 of those songs where the title doesn't match the lyrics 😅

Out here in the fields! I FARM for my meals. 😶
Baba O'Riley
The Who
Out here in the fields
I farm for my meals
I get my back into my living
I don't need to fight
To prove I'm right
I don't need to be forgiven
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Don't cry
Don't raise your eye
It's only teenage wasteland
Sally, take my hand
We'll travel south cross land
Put out the fire
And don't look past my shoulder
The exodus is here
The happy worlds are near
Let's get together
Before we get much older
Teenage wasteland
It's only teenage wasteland
Teenage wasteland
Oh, yeah
Teenage wasteland
They're all wasted!
Certified A Bug’s Life momento in the A bug’s Life trailer
I " grew up" with this song .
I always took it as an anti war song.. Guess it must've been the time we lived thru.
Luv it ❤
