Thank you for the video! You didn't mention snakes so I am happy about that! I am a 43 yr. old single woman who is seriously thinking about moving to Ft. Lauderdale. I don't drive and I don't want to so I am a little nervous that you mentioned needing a car. I am hoping to move fall 2024. I will call you when it gets closer to the time! I want to rent - not sure if Victoria Park or Downtown is better. All I want to do is walk, drink coffee, go to the beach, learn how to speak spanish and play pickle ball and be happy. Please keep posting your videos! I feel that I get the "real" scoop from you!
It might sound crazy but I am planning to move in fall 2024 to the Fort Lauderdale area if nothing changes. It would be great to connect if you'd like.
as someone who’s lived in fort lauderdale for my whole life, mosquitoes and the heat are definitely the biggest thing of this place. alligators are really not a huge issue unless you live on a canal or near the everglades
I've lived all over the country and I now live in Fort Lauderdale. Fort Lauderdale is the closest thing I've found to living in New York City except it never gets cold and there is no state or city income tax. People who move here from other parts of the country sometimes have trouble adjusting to the fact that we have people from so many different backgrounds and cultures. But I really don't hear many complaints from the locals about living here. Most people seem to really like it, but of course people who can't stand hot weather probably don't live here anyway.
Funny you say that because I’ve been saying since I moved here that Fort Lauderdale reminds me the most of North Jersey out of anywhere else in South Florida
I wish I bought when I moved to Fll in 2018. Prices are so high now. Covid made everything double or triple the price. I’ve been trying to buy around las olas. Renting right there in just wasting money but I can just walk outside and feel like I’m in Hoboken. I kick myself all the time. I don’t even mind a town house but not these crazy prices:(
Appreciate the honesty
Absolutely!

Actually, you're right. It's more like Northern New Jersey than New York City. Good call.@@livingsoflo

I’ve never heard a Floridian use the word “suburbs.” 😂😂😂 what the heck.

Hey Rose, it depends on what affordable is to you. There's many different locations and prices range between 100k-400k
@@livingsoflo how about the crime in Century Village?
Only reason I won’t go to Florida is because I do hvac and refrigeration and will not work outside during the summer in Florida haha
It's brutally hot over the summer!
