He's a thin guy, so I could definitely believe he runs on a regular basis , and of significant length. Would you believe Rory Mcilroy works out physically as much as he does if there wasn't video proving it?
Hilarious! I was feeling like a real sack of poop after listening to that. The fact it was 10 miles though slipped past my bs alarm because he sold it so well. Lol.
I like his advocation of hinge. Faldo advocated the same with his full swing back in his prime in the late 80s/ early 90's. Too many people advocate cocking because they don't understand physics in a 3d space, and are obsessed with the bs concept of lag from a faulty 2d face on dimension.
The key difference between chipping, pitching and full swings is that during the entire swing the back arm is the lever arm and the back shoulder is the axis for its rotation. That results in shallower swing arc than in a full downswing and pitch where the lead arm and shoulder are lever arm and axis. The distinction is important conceptually understanding the wrist action. It is the fact the swing force pulls the lead arm straight which causes the wrists to cock thumbs-up (radial deviation) to thumbs-down (ulnar deviation) automatically in response to the movement of the mass in the club head. That action doesn’t occur when the back arm is the lever rotating around the back shoulder and lead arm and hand are passive. If you chunk your chips it will likely be due to rotating the club around the lead shoulder and bringing the club down into the ball on too steep a path.
1:13 shows there is no body turn - just a little bit in the through swing, that's why the stance is open to help with this... However, no turn doesn't mean to become rigid. It still should all feel smooth and comfortable.
Pete - I find it easier to wrist cock/uncock when chipping; easier for me to accomplish your push toe under ball concept. Control loft/roll out with shaft lean.
He had me believing that was his day, his delivery of the story is as smooth as his swing
2 hours in the gym.... I was like damn lol got me
That got me as well!
Had me too 🤣🤣
This is by far the best video I've ever seen...what an incredible man.
One day I'm gonna meet you Peter.
The 10 mile run set off my BS alarm. The straight face made it hilarious. Much needed info on the chipping and pitching. Thanks.
And the 2 hours in the gym afterwards 😳😂

Make no mistake. This guy knows what he is talking about.
💯
I am absolutely enjoying these videos from a Master Coach.
Thank you Peter
Had me there at the end!! 😂

This advice is superb. Thanks 😊
I ❤️ Pete Cowan. A great coach. An even better man. 💪😎
Great tips. My problem is hitting slightly behind the ball. Outcome is typically thinning the next chip!! Any advice gratefully received 😊
Great coaching thank you, loved the typical working day, brilliant.

Best coach ever ❤
a simply Brilliant Man🙏🎤
Now I know why I can’t chip or pitch consistently. Great tips, thank you and something to work on
Love the jocking said well
I once played in a Pro Am with Pete and he wore a dark red jumper!
Amazing video!
Cracks me up every time, funny guy.
He's a funny guy.
I don't think he's grumpy, he's serious,thoughtful and attentive...thus a professional.
Geez he had me there.. was thinking that I need to do 10 miles each morning
I was thinking, what a stud! You should laugh more grumpy. It looks good on you.
Thank You
when Pete said 10miles on a morning I thought he would have made a better runner than golf coach! defo made a good poker player!!
What about even less hands and wrists and mostly shoulders? Wasn't that a school of thought for a while?
That's not Pete's way of doing it but hey, there is no right or wrong. Try it, if it works, just do it :-)
Works amazingly well for Stricker and J. Day. Whatever works for you is the “right way”.
100 and 109 hope yet !!
Please consider subscribing for occasional but hopefully really good golf vids, if you haven't already. Thank you :-)

From that distance the average golfer should be putting.
This is different than Pelz, who advocated dead hands. Interesting.
Genius
for the short chip less than one meter carry do we still need to turn the body in takeaway or just hinge the right wrist? Thanks Peter.

When I use right wrist hinge, I will flip 9 times out of 10. I have tried everything. Too many basketball games I guess.
very informative!!!
the Best🎤
I get up at 5 and run 10 miles then 2 hours in the gym, 12 hours with the players. Typical working day...😂
GURU: No other suplerative .
Oh dear Pete. You're in danger of being cancelled all that flying. Cant have you doing a job you love
