Thank you for your review. We are going on our first cruise on the Ventura in October. We are celebrating our golden wedding and my birthday on the same day. It has taken my husband a long time talking me into going on a cruise. I finally gave in and I’m actually looking forward to it .
I love the formal review being added to your vlogs instead of (or rather in addition to?) covering it during the lives. Very structured and informative. If you liked the lava rock steak, there is a little restaurant in the Altamonte area in Central Florida called Colorado Fondue Company that does the entree portion of the meal where you cook it on your own hot stone at the table. It's a frequent date spot for me and my husband because it's a super fun, low key dinner.

My wife and I were on the Ventura from May 5th to 12th, not only was it our first ever cruise, it was our honeymoon... AND we found out we are going to be parents on the Ventura... exciting stuff 😊. This review is spot on... you've captured the beauty of the ship perfectly.

We freedom dine...They give you buzzer and when a table is available it goes off you go back... No waiting around. MDR can be slow depending on when you go and how busy it is... Indian food is very common in theUK... Discounts on the 1st night are common and everyone looks out for them. Glad you liked our British food....we have lots of cook your own steak places here,that’s not uncommon. You should of had epicurean afternoon tea...it’s amazing and totally British.... Having been on Ventura this past New Year, and having eaten in the main dining room quite a bit, I think that the service for "Freedom Dining" is slower than if you eat in the other restaurant with your select time. They have a much faster and quicker service.

Loved Ventura to the Fjords beg May this year . Agree thou service was slow in MDR we missed the comedy show1 nite . We also like the Metropolis bar during the day was nice and quiet at nite we liked the Tamarind bar with live singers . My next cruise is on Rhapsody of Seas next June going from Venice to Dubrovnik and Greek Islands . Love your vlogs 😄🇬🇧

I went on HAL Koningsdam which I highly recommended to you guys as it pretty similar to P&O as you just presented in terms of service and amenities. Slow service and not so much variety on MDR but still... Could it be a maketing strategy to push "speciality" restaurants, who knows...
Hi there! HAL was our very first cruise so many years ago. We really liked them and want to try them again one day. I can honestly tell you that from the countless meetings with Hotel directors and Food & Beverage managers that long MDR times aren't a ploy to get you to spend money (the times in the specialty rooms are just as long) and most of them are frustrated by the dining times. It's almost a culture of the ship and it takes a very forceful head of the department to make big changes. The med looks wonderful! Glad you had a great time and thanks for watching our review!

Sean and Stef I don’t know if you remember Ocean Village (2003-2010) dubbed as ‘the cruise for people who don’t do cruises’, when carnival plc shut down OV they mooted Ventura as a good fit for OV passengers and even transferred much of the staff directly to Ventura. I think P&O has adopted some of the OV vibe since its demise. We’re doing western med on Britannia in July 2020, also pondering over the Dubai cruise on Oceana for New Year.

Interesting to hear about a typically British style cruise line from an American perspective. As a British cruiser my opinion would be that Princess offer a higher level of standards regarding most things compared to P&O. I've done both on occasions and like both for different reasons. Oh incidentally Zeebrugge is generally pronounced Zee- brug-a. Just saying! Thanks for your review.

And thanks for the pronunciation. We heard it pronounced so many ways from the officers, we just chose one, lol.

The food in main restaurants are far from being complimentary. You pay for the food in your fare you are not given it or free.
