wow. was/is an impactful account. i wonder how many others were groomed this way. i have read about predators who ensnare young women for the sex trade by observing the "tells" that mark an individual who is troubled or depressed, then showing that person great solicitude, such that the predator extracts info on all her hopes/dreams/self-doubts/sensitivities. These he manipulates in order to gain trust and fabricate obligation. It sounds like you were dealing with a very practiced con man.
