This gives me the goose bumps. I'm from Mississippi and I'm a Ole Miss Rebel fan and it's a shame we can't play any form of Dixie anymore and to be honest they shouldn't have taken it and the confederate flag away. None of it is racist
Not sure why you are confused. It was a performance by the University of Iowa MB. I am originally from the south but they have performed all kinds of music from all genres because they are American folk songs. Probably would be shut down today. This performance is from 1996. Almost all their performances were written by staff or grad staff.
Iowa just became my 2nd favorite team !!! " pride of the south snare line 96-98"

This is the US answer to our great country and I do not mean the US. I am referring to The Confederate States of America!
This is wonderful! Chills. Way to go Iowans!
I never knew this was also an Iowa song (I associate it with Ole Miss, which stopped playing it in 2009). This was beautifully done by the Iowa band.
Music to my ears
Back in the day when the Dixie flag wasn’t shamed
Iowa to the SEC, heard it here first folks!
Just need some dixie fanfare and dancers saying " take a step"
And the drum part needs to be slightly edited and its perfect
As a guy from Mississippi I am confused by this lol 😂 but damn does it sound sweet
