I love to visit Brighton Beach whenever I come to NYC. I truly enjoy the many food shops and hearing Russian spoken everywhere. The contrast between crazy Coney Island and the residential/commercial character of the Russian neighborhood is fascinating. When this darned Covid 19 thing subsides I'm heading back to NYC and Brighton Beach.
I lived in New York for nine years and I moved to Tennessee and this gives memories cause I walked past this area and shops a lot and entered most of them but the Library was the best
I used to work in a Restaurant where you Walked. I turned back to my country and I miss Brighton Beach so so much. When you were walking in front of the restaurant. Our regular customer was walking out of the restaurant omggggg I was almost crying. I saw the bus I was getting on everyday, the paves that I was trying to stay away when I was driving my electric scooter, the shops and everything. I would give everything just to walk on this street once more. 😢
I walked those streets 60 years ago, little has changed except for the language. That EL was built to last forever. Does the train still shoot sparks down to the street where it turns from Coney Island Avenue near where Mrs. Stahl’s Knishes used to be? Thanks for the memories.
