Wonderful first flight for KOA. All the rock climbing ans wing scrambling paid off watching his flight dynamics in Slo Mo. Like our Human ancestors in 1903(who studied Bird flight in design of first powered airplane flight) KOA did his siblings and parents proud in a first flight effort. For me, watching(sparingly) his Parents raised such a wonderfully well mannered trio of E's was also a Great Achievement and markedly better in last 3 E Trio to fledge several yrs ago. Hi Quiet Eagle yes he did! At 10:17 he flew to the West End old historic nest and he is still there! We had many seasons at the old nest so it is wonderful to have a cam zoom in on him! Koa might spend the night there!!

They each have their own distinct markings in their juvenile plumage. With triplets of different sexes it becomes easier too. Koa, the first born and now first fledge has a distinct bold personality as well.

GE Lady Hawk! This was awesome! Weat End is my only Eagle nest to watch now for this time of year and the summer and following dear Thunder's triplets has been rewarding! I was happy to see KOA visit the Historic nest and I grabbed some scaps of him up there. This is wonderful footage and excellent description as always! Thunder and Chet must be so proud! Will either Eagle Parent continue to watch Koa for a free weeks or bring food to any location Koa is resting? Idk if once they fledge if they are now on their own or still get help from the parents
Hello Michelle oh yes! Both Thunder and AK will continue to feed and watch over all the fledglings until they leave the area. Typically they stay around until mid July!
