Another great video. When I remove axle caps I use a watchmaker's trick for removing hands, and that is to use a material like zip lock bags to cushion between the tools and wheel. Prevents scratching.

I still wish I had bought one years ago. At 78 with heart disease it is probably too late now. Because of these videos I can still enjoy watching and learning videos such as this one. Thank you, Sir.

I've recently refurbished and recommissioned my old TE1a. It must be more than 55 years old now. I had to completely dismantle it as the little motor had seized. But it freed up easily enough.
    It now fascinates my grandchildren.

I like the look of any model steam engine that shows evidence of usage, it makes them look more realistic as full size engines would only be touched up here and there to prevent rust.

Many years ago now back in 2005 my dad brought home a Mamod traction engine that he had got from a model shop in Phymouth Devon and he told Me and my Brother that he had brought it as a special birthday gift for our Grandad's 65th birthday and i fondly remember Dad helping my Grandad steam it up for the first time after my Grandma had read the instructions.
our Grandad steamed the engine two possibly three more times after the first steaming but sadly he was not interested in steam engines so he gave the Mamod traction engine to me despite me being 8 years old at the time and after we moved to France me and my brother had great fun steaming Grandad's engine under instruction from our mum.
17 years on i have still got this engine and it recently has been repaired by a friend of ours who is a retired engineer who we known for some time.

Good morning I have the steam roller but it’s leaking from the water gauge glass best way to reattach seal as it’s a new seal

Try a a very thin smear of silicone rubber on both sides of the seal then refit it.

No point really as they are almost identical to the TE1.
