Probably my favourite episode you guys have done. Hearing you talk honestly about actual problems with the AP and what your solutions were, and honestly just getting to hear you guys have a proper down to earth chat about the stuff you like and dislike in TTRPGs (and how theme is important etc) was honestly a joy. I think I agree with pretty much everything you've said about Tyrant's Grasp despite not running it myself, and I would love to hear more about your experience with official APs. I write my own 1-20 campaigns set in Golarion as lore accurate as possible, and I do this because of my apathy towards Paizo APs, with my biggest issue being stuff like the contrived stuff you talk about here and the general lack of explanation as to WHY the PCs are being forced to do a thing (like the Hammerock stuff), so it's cool to hear your opinions on this too. Thanks for an amazing episode!
Thanks so much! We really enjoyed just chatting about the differences in our experience vs the AP, but the real hero is Ryan who retooled it so much more than I thought he did 😂😂. Yeah, I'm the main person who runs APs in our several groups, but I definitely want to talk all about my experiences once I'm done, we might have a Fist of the Ruby Phoenix here soon and I might pull the trigger on an Abomination Vaults ep since that actual campaign is on indefinite hiatus. That's awesome you write all your own campaigns, anything you've thought about putting on Pathfinder Infinite? I do really love APs for my own GMing since they give a great foundation I can then build on top of. The contrivances can definitely get a bit much at times which is why I'm really enjoying the 3 book adventure paths because they tend to have much less bloat.
