  • There aren't enough videos talking about guitar straps and I only use Levy straps. My boy Wes Liggett was telling me earlier today about Anthology straps, so I added their link below and ordered one today because it looks like another sick strap. Shout out to my boy Todd Thozeski (Toddzilla) in Georgia for sharing the Moon Embassy strap which is just $22; I just ordered two this morning!

    Thanks for your review, this has helped me an awful lot!
    Nearly all my guitar straps are 2.5" and I've been thinking about these 3" padded ones as I'm not a spring chicken anymore. But, I thought this extra half inch would make them too wide, however your excellent review shows this is absolutely not the case and they are really comfortable!
    Cheers and thanks again,

    For my Ibanez guitars, I always used the Planet Waves woven straps. I even have some of the first runs of the Joe Satriani designed ones and they were really good quality. I started noticing that more recent manufacturing of those exact same straps has gone downhill. I switched to Levy's 2" Cotten straps and have been really happy with those. I pair them all with Schaller strap locks.

    I think you are gonna dig that anthology. It’s not foam padded, only thick ass high quality leather. It’s super stiff at first, but after a few hours of sweating, drinking, and playing, it becomes a part of your body. Mine are perfectly formed to my shoulder now. It’s heavy and thick like a gentle Burmese python cuddling up by your neck.

      @@louistorres I started using that same strap two years ago with my Les Paul's. It is the best strap in terms of comfort and padding. I can play a 9-pound Les Paul Gothic for 2 and 1/2 hours with no problems. You never realize the value in things like a good strap until you've had a bruise in the shoulder from rocking out with a brand new guitar that's heavier than you're used to.
      I definitely have my fair share of Ernie Ball nylon straps that I've collected over the years. They tend to end up on lighter guitars like my Suhr Strat and Tele.
      I will give an honorable mention to Legato straps. I got one as a gift a few years ago and it seems to look good and it's colors go well with my new Tele.

    • @louistorres
      @louistorres  7 месяцев назад

      Nothing is ever dumb, bro. It's a great question, actually. It's just a personal preference, like having different depth snares and how tight you want your skin to be. You just have to try different guitars and see what works for you. I like Floyd Rose and non-tune-o-matic hard tails, like the one on my paul reed smith. Try a few at guitar center and see what feels right to you. Hope that helps, brother and have a great Christmas!!

    Levy's black leather M7GG 2" for me.
    It has a buckle adjustment which allows adjustment on the fly (not as fast a s a nymon strap, but way faster than taking the whole strap apart) (some others do to, but have a nylon back which defeats the purpose of leather lol). They have a 3" too, but it's not necessary. 3" is for bass and heavy Les Pauls! 😂 😂 😂
    Here is the strap I use. It's never in stock at this price.
