No, he did not cost that much. My wife worked at the Ford dealership and I was good friends with the mechanics for discontinued. The 460 and I picked it up for $1200. That is a killer deal. The conversion kit was $1600 and the mechanic installed it for 1000.

Im the guy that's not a mechanic that has mechanical skills that resurrected one from the grave. A
79 bronco. It had sat for 23 years in the hot Utah sun and weather. It was definitely a task but a worthy one! Now both my sons have old broncos they've bought and are working on. It's an awesome thing to see. Remember its not always about the cost its about making memories and life lesson's that's priceless! Learning life skill's! I tell them be persistent and little by little things will come together! Sometimes beauty is in the eyes of the beholder 😂

Please don’t kill older steel vehicles. I’m not a Ford fan. Though I see the value in this Bronco. I’d rather it be given to a follower of the channel once it running. #saveoldervehicles. I was 9. My moms Cherokee chief had a water pump failure. She bought me a chiltons manual. A basic craftsman toolbox and the water pump. I replaced that water pump and my career was born. Great video, A lot of people need to hear these things. I see some people don't like the prices he was throwing out, and what they don't understand is it takes A LONG TIME to build a great reputation, and once someone builds that reputation, it is going to cost you more to get things done by them because why would they spend say 100 hrs working on your vehicle for half the amount they could be making doing other things for other people? Your time is worth a certain amount of money per hour, so why waste it doing work for half your worth when you can book other work in that time slot that's going to pay you twice as much?
A lot of people don't get that. So if they don't want to pay for that reputation of doing perfect work, then they need to take their stuff to someone who may do an okay job, or who may not do a good job at all and now they're out their money and stuck with a screwed up vehicle/house/boat, or whatever it is they have.

How is it 50g to ls swap something? I can get a junkyard ls put it in a old school Camaro with a 4l80e. $6000 for the combo then all you have to do is make motor mounts get drive shaft length corrected and a Holley ecu… it’s definitely a lot of work but not 50000 unless you go all out and have the best of the best shop do it

This so call mechanic has absolutely NO idea what that truck is worth. He just doesn't want to mess with it and thats why he's saying all the negative stuff about it. Most of those rigs were beat to death and ran into the ground, then left to rust to death, so its getting harder and harder to find em.

Where are they getting parts from and how much a hour, $100-$150k to do body/mechanical work. Not knocking the quality or time but Jesus. I bought 1985 Chevy blazer and replaced 75% of the body, complete restoration (I did the body work, 25 yrs experience). I had a 400 small block built by certified wyo-tech mechanic (cousin). The interior was mint so saved on that, I had maybe $3k in parts and labor in the motor and maybe $2500 in body work/paint. With cost of vehicle I had $8k out of pocket, it was before pandemic (2018) when everyone wasnt insane on prices
