I hate when companies paint the back of guitars completely gloss black. Covers up all that beautiful natural wood, even if it might be cosmetically imperfect. The body is mahogany, but all that good looking wood is completely covered up :( anyways, great video! I really enjoy your demos and reviews!
Thank you for your comments.. There must be a reason why they cover the back with black. It might be that the wood grain ain't much to look at because its a cheaper kind (to keep the cost down).. Who knows??
@@JonIsJustTooLoud the main reason why it sucks for me is because it looks so cheap and you can even find high end companies like Suhr and ESP doing it on their $2000 up to $6000 guitars which is a real shame.

With the hb sc550 there are both black and transparent brown/red back versions. Could be a wood quality thing or maybe different factories.

They are cheap enough for you to buy a few !! I got a lovely Tele for €88 and a Swamp ash strat for €168 I bought them both together !! I have two basic strats ,a CST-24 and a 7 string Fanfret . So I am a bit of a fan, I recently bought a Harley Benton Isolated power supply - proper isolated (no common earth) . That wasn't too dear either !!
NGD, just received one of these Harley Benton Fusion Pro II HSH in blue burst. It is flawless ! Better finish than any Gibson ! Really high end guitar, I won't repeat all high grade appointments it offers for just €398. Unboxing it I just had to tune it, and slightly level up 1 saddle, and I was good to go. Few years back , I had a horrible experience with Harley Benton HB35, awful, unplayable, so that I told myself never again. It looks HB has really upgraded the quality, and quality control of their instruments, at least those coming from Indonesia, not sure for their Chinese make. I long hesitated with the Yamaha Pacifica 612 V2 FM, then body shape, burst finish, wood binding, stainless steel frets made me choose the HB Fusion Pro. Body is slightly smaller than a real Fender Strat, which makes it even more comfortable. Now intending to change the pickups for more vintage tones.
Give guys like Jonathan and many others access to product for these demo videos is marketing genius for Thomann. Where else can you get so much good free press. There are more Harley Benton reviews on RUclips than any other brand IMHO. Jonathan does a great demo. He's tough but fair.
Thomann gives me nothing hahaha...nada..zip...zero.. The guitars are either owned by me or my friends. The reviews in the channel are meant to help out working and fellow musicians and guys who are starting to take an interest in music making. We need music in this world. ✌️🤓✌️

I complemented you on being tough but fair and doing a great demo. My comment was focused mainly on the innovative marketing strategy of Thomann. They maximize your talent and the talents of others on RUclips to a higher level than other manufacturers. I believe the product quality, price points and You Tube marketing will reverse the 23% decline in electric guitar sales experienced since 2008. You can take some of the credit for that. I would like to do a deep dive on the innovation in this industry for my MBA work. I think it has a good outcome for many of the participants.

You're doing great on RUclips....I prefer you demo's to most others. You play with passion. It's all good. You don't work for Thomann or Harley Benton. You have access to product. I’ve just bought this guitar! I’ve never played something like this for 400 euros. The only problem with mine are the little screws inside the saddles, unfortunatly two of them (in the low E saddle) were ruined by me during the action setup and now I can’t adjust ‘em. I solved this problem ordering a set of titanium screws for 20€, after that I’ll replace the stock pickups for a set of seymour duncan hyperion (from a Ibanez Az). I just want to thank you, because I’ve decided to buy this instrument after your review :) HB pro fusion is a good deal if you are into super strats but you don’t have enough money to buy an Ibanez/Charvel/Suhr. Hope this channel will grow, thank you again Jonathan!

Love it! Plus , as a late 70s, early 80s kud/player, I totally feel 1985 when grab that tremolo! You're damn artistic on that tremolo, even when you get intense.

I just got the fusion T HH based on your review and now I just may have to add this one to my collection. This is a gorgeous looking guitar. If it plays anything like the fusion T that I just got, my guess is that it would be a worthwhile addition. Oh Jonathan !! You ripped the bag ! You can get the bag off intact if you hold the guitar by the neck and raise it up to allow the bag to drop . I do like that you always wear guitar friendly clothes i.e. No studs , no zips etc.

Please, Jonathon, it is not coil tap. It is coil split!
Split takes out one coil of a humbucker by grounding it.
Tap is an output from part of the winding.
I know you know all this but do not confuse your viewers.

This is the next HB I'm buying. I've already got the CST 24 HB and the RB 600cs. Love them both and I figure having the Fusion would give me 3 distinct sounds for my home recording/jamming. I don't know what witchcraft the Germans are using, but I keep thinking I've stolen from them at the price I'm paying for these guitars lolol.

Today the same guitar aaruved. I really like the flame bengal burst. It is at my luthier now, since the action was too high. Hopefully iti is back tomorrow for some good playing.... Your review helped me to decide to order this version and not the natural color.

I've had this guitar for about six months and love it. I did change the middle pickup out for a standard Strat pickup and also I added a toggle for introducing the bridge pickup in the 4 and 5 selector positions so I can have all three pickups (pos. 4) or the bridge and neck togeather (pos.5).
I chose a switch that matches the split toggle and mounted it between the volume and selector switch.
I've made that mod to all my Strat like guitars including my 1973 Stratocaster. I really like the variation of sounds I get from that simple mod.

New dimarzio pups along with locking tuners and all new electronics I love this guitar. until I saw this video..lol

I think the only hurdle people will have is getting over the brand name.
I don't need another strat shape, but I own a Schecter NJ model (the pink one) and it's my go-to-guitar over my MIA Fender

I’m torn between the Fusion and the SC550 for my 50th birthday next month. I have loved the Les Paul shape my whole life because of Slash and Ace Frehley. But they’re so darn heavy and my shoulder isn’t so great these days.

@@JonIsJustTooLoud I will need to reduce my collection and really I think with either you can't go wrong. The turquoise one has very nice pick ups no need to change. What pick up upgrade would you suggest for this model. Seymour Duncan's a set or mix and match? Both guitars have a super strat vibe I really like the truss rod wheel.
@@753Jackson If you 're looking a for a super strat...go with the HSH roasted maple . If i were to change the pups for the Fusion HH, I'll probably go for the pearly gates with cover set.🤓✌
@@JonIsJustTooLoud Thank you for this helpful feedback. I think I will buy this one that you reviewed here. For the future is there a pick up swop out for the HSH. I would actually try to avoid changing anything and see if I could just use the ones it ships with. To me they sound good on your playing much easier to hear clean. So thank you for playing some clean examples. Nice country type licks that evoked Lindsey Buckingham phrasing for me. Again many thanks for the channel and your time.

And came across this video, it was so very helpful to me now I can have an idea with the sound it delivers...
I think it gives a nice variety of possibilities in my opinion of course your putting together this video so nicely really helped, love your taste in playing :-)
Being a lefty I was pleasantly surprised when seeing the FUSION ll and what it has on board for the price!

I agree in what you said on the use of this particular guitar, I too will use it 90% of the time in humbucker mode, sounds great to me... although nice to use the possibility of single coil too.
I wish you were my neighbor, we'd have plenty to talk about I'm sure. Plus you seem so nice and well-mannered. Also the style of music you play is excellent so IF I were your neighbor I would say, don't worry about the volume lol ...

I just received mine about a week ago. What a great guitar. Just beautiful! This appears to be a great upgrade of the original Fusion. The neck is gorgeous and is so smooth I was shocked. Although one of their pricier models, the value for what you get is amazing... My second HB and I'm totally pleased with their guitars..

An HSS Fusion II would be the bomb.
These are great videos on the hb guitars. I like the 2 guitars that you like. On the hsh, I think it's better to go with the natural finish, as the likely-hood of the split on the top having good matching grain, from side to side, seems poor, and the brightness of the fbb, just shows off the mismatch.
