My belief is that marriage is a true partnership with neither spouse being the head of the family. But each couple has the right to arrange their marriage the way they want to - if a woman wants to be lead, that’s her prerogative. There’s no judgment either way.

I do feel like they both have good parents despite being indoctrinated by a cult. I know so many kids can’t say the same about their IBLP parents but it seems like Carlin and Evan have done well including getting away from the cult and not raising their kids in it.

I agree totally with your answer to the Christianity. I took care of my Mother who had Alzheimer’s she got it at 56 early onset. I walked into a store with her and the worker there told me my Mother was sick because I didn’t have enough faith. I actually thought God told us our lives would not be perfect but he would be with us every step of the way. My mother taught my young boys patience and how to handle disappointments. Mom gets sick we can’t go. I call it the power of the powerless. I have boys that want to help have so much patience with us and that was taught by my mother. She is whole now in heaven and I am so happy thinking of her as whole again. Happy Anniversary and may God Bless you!

I subscribe to all the Bates RUclips channel which I put on my tv when I watch. I feel like since all the kids are spread over the country now, them having their own channels on here gives us something even better than the tv show! Chad & Erin, Lawson & Tiff, Lydia & Trace, the Bates family, the Webster family (Alissa), the Clark family(Katie) there are probably more RUclips channels the family has that I can’t think of…hope this helps and you’ll be able to find them so you can keep up with the Bates family❤God bless

Marriage is a team sport for sure. And the 2 of you recognized that early on, that is what makes a strong marriage. My husband and I just celebrated our 47th anniversary, and I can certainly say that our love just keeps growing. I enjoy watching and see you both grow as partners and parents.

Happy Anniversary 🤗, this was such a lovely video. Lisa and I have been together for 19 years and civil partnerships for 17 . We find it hard even now to understand the fact that we both are leaders because both our past relied on us doing everything in a relationship, so we do generally get stressed at each other because it’s hard to share the load , because the other person actually wants to 🤔. Neither of us had that kind of support before, plus respect and love.
We both believe God needed us to go through things we did , to reach a place of happiness and genuine peace.

There are 2 words for "judge" in the Bible- one means to pass a sentence on someone else and condemn them, we are not to do that. The other means to evaluate whether smething lines up with Scripture or not. We are called by God to that, so we can help one another to understand how to please God. We are to love one another, but also the most loving thing to do for someone is to tell them the truth and encourage them to walk with the Lord. ❤

Let’s remember that God’s love looks different than what the present culture calls love. Of course He tells us to love others…but to love others is to point them to Christ. (as you both said-the gospel!) And pointing them to Christ is pointing them to His Word. He who keeps my commands is He who loves me. (John 14) There is the important connection that Christ’s love is not the emotional worldly love that so many seem to think it is.
But it is an obedient love because we adore who He is! Our holy and righteous Father who we take pleasure in obeying because we trust His ways!❤✝️🙏🏻☺️

Loved this video! I’m married with grown children and my best advice to others is Love and respect each other at all times. When someone says they never have fights I know that’s not true because no one is going to agree on everything all the time. God made us all different and special so it’s ok to agree to disagree. I really wish people/couples your age would watch your videos. You'd be a great inspiration and example for them. A lot of coyples your age dont seem to not take their marriage seriously. My husband and i have been married 42 years this past January, and we spent it in the hospital because i had a stroke. Not a very nice way or place to celebrate. But because we love, respect and trust each other, we were able to have a great time, and build more special memories.
