Wow, this was so touching. I thought I'd already seen enough vids of these two to have felt everything possible already, but I loved what you did throughout this piece! The ending with the laptop closing is heartbreaking, which I wouldn't have predicted, and which is a testament to what you edited together prior to that point. I really adore how you used a lot of stillness and slowness; it led to a lot of drama! The actors and scenes are so powerful in and of themselves, that I feel like you gave them the space to be powerful and kindle nostalgia in us. It was really neat how you stitched together collections of facial expressions that were similar to one another, even though they came from different situations and seasons. You were able to impressively establish particular moods and aspects of their relationship, and then you shifted to a new set of expressions to convey a different mood and aspect of their relationship, and then did it again, and again. Your care and precision paid off, because in those transitions around 1:20 and then at around 1:40, for example-wow-I felt the mood shift in such a pronounced way, and found myself remembering another aspect of their relationship. Instead of mashing everything together at once, your step-by-step approach felt especially tender and emphasized the layered nature of their relationship, pointing out that their ways of looking at one another have been there all along, just in different incarnations. Really well done. Thank you, thank you, thank you for taking the time and making the effort to create this little gem!
