You mean they finally built an interchange to Hwy 281 instead of exiting San Pedro? Wow! All that part of town around 410 was the suburbs up to the 1980's, now it's close to inner-city status. The suburbs are now out west around Boerne, Bulverde, and Schertz-Cibolo
Yes, the interchanges along I-410 truly are amazing. Speaking of Canada, I just uploaded my 401 video throughout greater Toronto, which is an engineering marvel in itself.
Be glad you didn't have to go to/from the airport on 410! The new interchange there is so complicated. To head east on 410 from the airport I had to cut across all the lanes of the westbound access road and take the turnaround to go east, none of which is well-marked!
Hey, thanks man! Although I seriously think you'll enjoy ScrewdUpClickV2 and his newly released video of the entire I-410 loop freeway, which is now available on RUclips, as of yesterday.
This is the video that inspired me to start filming highways, i thought i was the only one on the planet that loved driving. I live on Long Island, im going to buy a camera this summer and drive every inch of Highway on Long Island and put it on youtube.. Too bad NYDOT doesnt have cash money like TXDOT
Not only does Texas have big elaborate interchanges, but decorative ramps all over the state that scream out, "We've got more money than you, Louisiana!"
I generally agree with ScrewdUpClick2000. Overall, I'd say Austin has a more interesting freeway network, although I-410 and, to a lesser extend US 281, were definite exceptions.
FreewayBrent Austin is a congested hellhole. What about Austin is more interesting? Their double decker I-35 is not nearly as impressive as San Antonio's. San Antonio also has I-10, not to mention Loop 410 and Loop 1604, both of which loop around the entire city. Austin has loop 360, which isn't even a loop. Lived in both cities for more than 10 years each. San Antonio has a far more impressive system of highways.
Believe it or not, the Houston area is seismically active. Not to the extent of parts of California, but the interchanges there are built with that in mind...and hurricanes too.
Yes they do hjave them but they don;t work the same way Texas Frontage Roads do, the frontage roads there ARE the exits in many cases, and many stores/businesses, strip malls are ON the frontage road, there are many turnarounds like you see on I-85 in Dekalb County. it took some getting used to as far driving there.
Having seen some of Texas I can honestly say while we have some nice Interchanges in ATL, they do not compare to TX. But our freeways in general, for lanes & design, yeah we are right up there with them. Thank god we don't use those silly frontage roads like they do.

The US 281 interchange is my favorite interchange on 410...hands down
Holy Cow at 3:10!
Nicely done.
At 3:10, that's the I-10/410 Stack Interchange in San Antonio
@@SlowedByCinnamxn No kidding!

I've never seen such massive interchanges before!
Yes, that is indeed an absolutely mindblowing interchange, and one I will have featured in 2 future videos (US 75 and I-635).
Coolness. Maybe I've seen you before, lol. I've been to a couple of branches, both around the Boston area.
I've read labor is quite cheap in Texas. And getting a ROW isn't a problem it seems. Texas land 'o stacks!

I Remember those Two Stack Interchanges at 3:05 and 4:20

Where is the 410/35 from Walzem to Rittiman Rd? That's part of the loop too.
