What about Greats and Idrese? The good thing about Idrese is that they have an option for a wide last, and that is rare in these shoes. I think Crown Northampton is the only other company to offer this. They also allow a lot of customization. As a wide foot folk, I’m very interested in the Idrese offering. Thanks, I love your channel cause you give us the real look at these shoes
I hope you read your comments because you are putting a spotlight on these companies and showing the consumers if they are a scam or not. Thank you for what you do. Please NEVER stop doing this series
@Pike Fish "nobody makes a better pair of shoes than Nike" Especially their child/slave laborers. The quality is crap, the ethics are crap, and the company is crap.
Owner update: got a pair of the black and white in December '20. I am famously hard on sneakers. These have been worn daily for neighborhood walks, yard work, vacations in New Mexico and Virginia, and puttering around the house. The sole has thinned at the ball of my foot, but there have been NO cracks, no separation at the toe creases, no issues in any way. They still look fantastic, even still smell of fine leather. I could not possibly recommend these shoes enough.
@@ambufan3242 Wore them yesterday, all day. The soles have still not worn through, despite the thinning. Still no eyelet breaking, no upper separation from sole, no liner damage whatsoever, still reeks of high-quality leather. They are still the best pair of shoes I have ever owned. I will def be buying another pair at some point.
I'm starting to think Rose Anvil is actually having an impact on the overall shoe market. Before this channel there wasn't really any accessible way for average people to learn about shoes boots and their construction and comparisons between them. It was all mysterious. We were totally at the mercy of the manufactures hype and lies. For years I've been struggling with shoes. I've bought boots and shoes of all different brands (aside from handmade custom stuff cause I didn't even know it existed much less why I would buy such a thing and what to expect) and I've always been dissatified with quality. Seemed no matter how much money I spent or where I bought sneakers or boots or casual shoes they all fell apart and were total garbage. Now I know why. Know I'm ready to order a pair of Nicks boots and happy to shell out the money for them. I understand that all modern sneakers are just junk and the only value in any of them is fashion. These boutique little custom shoe companies are crushing it. They're getting a lot of business which should lead to more companies popping up to take advantage of the new demand. I think this is going to lead to a renaissance in our modern shoes. People are becoming educated and aren't going to be satisfied with the mass produced garbage. I'm excited. I like nice things. And I love nice shoes. Also, soon as my current mass produced garbage Nike's are wore out i'm ordering a pair of these Thursday sneakers. Thank you Rose Anvil!!!!! You're providing a legit valuable service to the community and I do hope you're getting rewarded for your work. Great job!
I agree! I have bought several pairs of boots just because I could purchase with confidence thanks to Rose Anvil. I now own THREE pairs of THURSDAY boots. Two of them were the exact ones cut in half in Rose Anvil videos. The MITUSA series showed us the Thursday Logger, I absolutely love that boot! And the Captain in tobacco with the Stormking outsole. I loved the Captain so much I ended up buying another pair with black (not matte) uppers and the regular outsole. Thursday is by far one of the best priced, best value, high quality boot companies on the market. And I would not know that if it weren't for Rose Anvil. P.S. I also bought a pair of REDBACK (easy escapes) because of Rose Anvil. The Redback boots saved my feet from terrible pain caused by Doc Martins (those boots suck don't buy Docs ever) because they have so much foam. Redbacks are a solid work boot but not very stylish. So I will still wear those from time to time if my feet feel like they need a rest or if I have some hard work to do.
I bought a pair of Doc Martens in 2017, then later stumbled into RA's video on them. I was kinda disappointed at how bad Doc's are. I mean, they're not horrible for the price, and they are comfortable... but they're not durable. They're not a boot that can be resoled. Fast forward to a couple months ago, RA video pops up in my suggestions, so I watch a few. Now I have a pair of Iron Rangers, a pair of Thursday Captains, and I got a brand new pair of Helm boots for less than half price, but they're too wide, so I'll have to sell them on. Now I really want a pair of Grant Stone Brass boots, but might go with a Thursday Diplomat with the lug sole. I've also watched a lot of cobbler videos. It's cool to see them restore beat up boots and show how they are made. I ended up getting my Iron Rangers resoled because the hard heel makes my not-yet-bad knees a little sore. Had a local guy do it, and they came out super nice. All this because Rose Anvil decided it would be cool to cut some boots in half. He's probably raising a LOT of awareness and interest in the market, and that's a great thing!
I live in Italy and they only brought in Chinese sweatshop workers to make stuff in Italy. True craftsmen are found in small local shops here, none of the big shit.
Definitely that is the difference, there are various of Mexican small producers that make shoes just like these at even better price, I think Thursday is expanding this type of merchandise with their name.
I do love my Thursdays. My sole came funky, and Thursday offered to replace them, or pay to have them resoled. I got them resole (they were fine otherwise), and even the cobbler was impressed by them. Cool they're making shoes now, too
Don't stop with the shoe series! I really enjoy the breakdown of these high quality products, it really helps people sort out what is worth paying for.
I received my Thursday sneakers a couple weeks ago. They are the same color and size as those in the video. I tried to order them when the video came out but there was a delay as they were out of stock. That and bad weather kept me from experiencing them until very recently. The magic heel counter seems to have done its job. I applied some White's Boots leather preservative to help soften the tongue. That said, these have become my favorite footwear (ignoring when I NEED my Nick's or White's boots!). They fit my feet well and are comfortable. In fact, they make my New Balance walking shoes look bad in terms of comfort! I rewatched this video after having some experience with the sneakers and I cringed seeing them cut up! LOL
@@somerandomperson8282 I found the sizing to be good for me. There is room in the toe box... something with which I've had problems to the point that I used the "try boot" process when I had my Nick's boots made--I had them pad out the lasts by the big toes. These Thursday sneakers have been comfortable and they have benefited from being conditioned several times.
@@albertoclonado That hasn't been an issue. I find my New Balance sneakers to be far worse... all the foam padding and man made materials serve to insulate and hold the heat in! The leather uppers on the Thursday sneakers don't do that.
Had these sneakers for two weeks now (different color) and they are amazing for the price. If you love clean leather sneakers like I do myself these are a must have. Only one small caveat, they seem to run slightly narrow. I’m a bit flat footed but I’m overall a slim person (5’9”,~142lbs for reference) so I’ve never really had issues with the width of other popular leather sneakers such as Koio. However these shoes do feel slightly snug on the sides, nothing uncomfortable or deal breaking for me. But I feel that someone with wider feet might want to size up.
Im a 9.5 wide. So a lot of shoes wont fit if its a narrow last. Even if its 2 or 3 sizes up. Do you think I should pass on these or just go for the mens?
Chromexcel is combination tanned, so chrome tanned first and then vegetable retanned. It's the vegetable tanning part that makes chromexcel so unique (at least according to Horween, and how we can't find leathers very similar to chromexcel - imo).
Kudos to RA for finally giving people a good resource to find quality shoes. The tricky part here is that there is a dizzying array of different leathers for the different colors of this model and according to Thursday, they should all be 1.2 - 1.4 mm in thickness. I asked them how a pair may be thicker than that and they said quality control. So besides not knowing which style of leather wears the best and whether the pair you buy will actually have thicker leather than average, it's sort of difficult to know what you're buying. In terms of production location, apparently the white pairs are made in Portugal and all the rest in Mexico. So overall, it's complicated
Can you do a video comparing women’s boots to men’s boots? I’ve seen a lot of your videos about the breakdown in construction in the men’s boots but I’m curious if they make the women’s boots differently
I just got these. I also picked up a pair in natural and white. The cacao are by far the best. The leather is exactly as he said. It is thick and sturdy. It doesn't create easy. The natural creases as soon as you take it out of the box. That is not a lie. But it adds character to the shoes. The cacao are rock solid and I freaking wish they could do the same construction but all white.
Could you do a review on the white version of the Thursday sneakers? I watched your white sneaker finale and you mentioned there were differences between the white colorway of this shoe, versus the Caocao color you've reviewed. Curious on your thoughts regarding the quality of materials used on the white version (the nappa leather vs horween) and if it's still a good shoe at the $130 price point. Or have they compromised on the materials a lot for the white pair
I've owned this exact pair for roughly 2 years now. Wear them about 4-5 days a week. They're insanely comfortable and durable. I've owned two pair of Captains and these sneakers have outlasted both pairs of boots. Like Rose says, the only complaint I have is that I would add a little more support in the insole or midsole. Otherwise, these are the Swiss Army knife of shoes. Tip: for travel, take these, a pair of light minimalist exercise shoes, and some shower slides. Youre packing light and literally don't need any other footwear unless you're hiking or in a freezing climate. Cheers
Ordered these exact ones from here in the U.K. on the strength of this review and they arrived all taxes and duties paid in under a week. Absolutely fantastic sneakers which feel and look wonderful. Just need to spring weather to get them out and about!
I just received these today and they are great! Felt uncomfortable for about 2 minutes because of the thick leather but already started feeling great after that. The leather also smells so good! Super high quality.
Wore my first pair today. I'm impressed already. Already thinking of getting a second pair. I'm sold on the Thursday brand. Bought 2 pairs of boots for my special lady. She absolutely loves them
I bought a pair of these sneakers in Toffee leather because of this review and WOW! BEST PAIR OF SNEAKERS I'VE EVER BOUGHT! The leather is thick and tough yet soft and comfortable plus it smells incredibly good! Everything is nice and comfortable and I love their presentation, I'm blown away by this company and I highly recommend any of their products 👍
If those were the best then you've never experienced the cloudy bounce of a good running sneaker. That grid will eventually push through and fuck your heel up.
@@roveradventures - I'm thinking of getting the cacaos. I would've immediately bought the white ones, but I already bought some Beckett Simonon Reids (which I haven't even worn yet).
Being from the part of Mexico where Thursday products are made, the labor is cheap but it is known as the Leather Capital in Mexico. Only the best luxury Mexican brands get their leather products made there you will find "Shoes from Leon, GTO MX" advertising all over Mexico.
I think they are able to keep the cost down by using the same lather in there shoes as they do in there boots . That way they can make even bigger orders and get a bigger discount. Not just the leather but the lace holes and the leather laces. Also making in Mexico can be cheaper but it depends. Also like you mentioned they are more direct to consumers.
After watching and rewatching all of your white sneaker videos I purchased the white Thursday sneaker & wore them for the first time today. I'm so impressed by how quickly they're forming to my feet & at the suppleness of the leather. They feel fantastic & seem as though they're going to last a good long while. Thanks for the recommendation!
This sneaker is just oozing leather, I love it. I recently got a pair of Allen Edmonds sneakers but now i want to get a pair of Thursdays, seams worth it for the price
yes please. When I bought my first penny loafers, I fell in love with leather and bumped to this channel. I would love to see dress shoes in half. I was hoping to see some in moctober, but the previews showed was all boots though.
Thanks for this video! I just bought some Thursday boots last week because of your other videos and I saw they just released sneakers and was hoping you'd make a video on it. Will definitely pick up a pair now, they look great!
Thanks for the video. Watched a few now and great content as always! I'm in the UK and when I checked these out on Thursday's website, I thought the international shipping was going to be prohibitive but full marks to Thursday - Free shipping on anything over $100! Even anything $99 and under is only $8 (between £5 - £6, depending on the exchange rate) for shipping which is amazing really when you consider that I've seen some brands offer international shipping at upwards of £20 and some UK companies can charge £5 for domestic shipping!
UK is a special case. International shipping in general is not quite that cheap. Shipping to Sweden cost 20$(+4$ sales tax, because american prices are not what the customer pays, but what the company gets to keep) and I assume this would be the case for the rest of the EU as well.
Thank you for the review. I hope your editor/friend gets better from virus soon. Can you please do Thursday boots review? I recently bought a pair of presidents from them. I am going to pick up a pair of these sneakers(white) next year for the spring and summer. This review definitely helped me in my decision.
Just picked up a pair in Old English. They are an excellent sneaker for a great price. I will admit that I have several pairs of Crown Northamptons and while nothing compares to them, the Thursday sneakers are very impressive.
Now that I have watched the video, I am even more impressed with you and your dedication to your subscribers and to Thursday Boot. I have 4 pairs of their boots and I really want several more and some of their dress and casual shoes and now these sneakers are a must have for me! I can’t wait to grab a pair! Thank you again! I plan to leave Thursday props on their site for getting behind this as well.
This is a relief to read! I just ordered two pairs of their boots and and then came across some really bad reviews regarding quality control issues and poor customer service and am a little freaked out. Figers crossed!
I am very impressed by these. At this price it is way better than I expected. With it's construction and the foam insert I don't think that a long time from now I might see the high spots as an issue. By then I would be ok with just buying a new pair.
Thanks for the great review. I do, however, want to caution people who are thinking about ordering them. The way the upper is tucked under creates a lip around the outer edge of the shoe that causes them to feel like the center of your foot is not supported. This cupping (not sure what to call it) makes the shoe hurt after a surprisingly short time. The shoe is beautiful and the leather is amazing but since it lacks the support/filler in the middle (space between where the upper is curled under at the outer edge), it tends to hurt after less than an hour of being in them. Note: I have put in a few months of breaking them in and it only gets worse as the shoe breaks in. The provided insole doesn't do a good job of filling it since it is a uniform thickness and only conforms to that preexisting cup/U-shape and continues to hurt the outer edges of your foot. You can see in the review what I mean at 8:13 and look at how his thumb pushes down at 9:10 that shows how it would affect your foot. It is very clear to see the center lacks support and there is a "rim" all the way around the outer edge. I feel bad because I love my Captains and have zero issues with them. Hopefully, Thursday finds a way to modify the construction to include some kind of support in the middle. I would happily buy another pair if they could fix this design/construction issue. If not, I can't wear their sneakers due to the discomfort. Best of luck all!
You could add a thin layer of foam or felt under the insole that only covers the area you describe. I have these shoes and I haven't noticed that problem.
First off, I really appreciate your videos, all the knowledge you share and how very genuine you are. I started watching a few months ago and am hooked. I've been getting more and more into the minimalist sneaker look and after I saw this and the white sneaker series 2 months ago I ordered these Thursday sneakers. I just want to share a few thoughts about them and the company. As far as looks go they are quite interesting when you see them in person. The leather is somewhat varied depending on the panel of the shoe. It varied from a matte, smooth finish to an almost shiny, cracked appearance. It wasn't too drastic but still something I noticed and seemed sort of odd. I wore them for about an hour in the house and you weren't kidding, the leather is THICC lol. They had a very "clompy" feel and were generally stiff. I can appreciate that this kind of leather will last a long time but these definitely don't have that sneaker feel, if that's what you're looking for. I also wore them to the mall for about an hour. After getting home I noticed the stitching that connects the upper to the toebox was unraveling, on both sides. Not good. I took pictures and sent them to Thursday and to my surprise they said they would send me a new pair immediately, free of charge! Even with the stitching issue I kept wearing them and noticed a few more things. The insoles are quite "slick" feeling and begin squeaking if you have even a slight amount of moisture...and you will as this leather is THICC:) They don't seem to absorb any of the moisture either. Could be a sock quality issue, who knows, but I haven't had this issue with any other shoes. I ended up buying some cork insoles and like them a lot better. The shoe also doesn't seem to break in easily as far as the stiffness of the leather goes. Yes, I've only been wearing them for a few months but it still feels like I'm wearing a low-top thick leather boot to be honest. Anyways, on to the new pair...they arrived about 2 weeks after my first pair and the first thing I noticed was that the leather was shiny, almost reflective, and had an obvious cracked, almost "scaly" appearance. Not at all like the first pair. I didn't like it and continued to wear the other pair until recently. Unfortunately, the stitching has gotten much worse and now I've noticed that the heel of the outsole has really begun to wear down. I've worn these maybe 15 times total and pretty much only inside at work on polished flooring. I've decided to start wearing the new pair, perhaps a good polish and conditioning will dull the sheen a bit. Anyways, sorry for the length of this post. I'm honestly very impressed with the company and their customer service. I've actually ordered a pair of the captain boots and may end up getting another pair of sneakers with some more supple leather. We'll see how it goes. Cheers!
Yes your assumptions are correct but since it's only a low shoe it won't be as uncomfortable as a leather boot thats covering your ankle or a dress shoe with a leather sole.
T Whip back at it again with a top comment! Ya it will be a little stiff at first but Horween’s Chromexcel is a really easy leather to break in. That’s why I use it for my camera harnesses actually, it’s a really good combination of strength and flexibility.
yes! They do have break in period (about 2 days), but out of the box they are comfortable - They just get even more comfortable as the leather shapes to your foot.
I have the Old English because I like a sneaker with a matching gum sole. Like them a lot. As far as the counter it is really comfortable. I have to wear custom orthotics and they surprisingly fit in the shoe perfectly. Will definitely be buying them in white for summer. I also own a pair of Thursday boots too and am getting one of the leather jackets when it comes back in stock. Big fan of the prices and quality of everything. Lucky to have been to the store in NYC. Definitely stop in if you are in town because it's just really nice to actually be able to compare everything to find out what you like best.
I love Thursday boot company, just wish they would make the sole of those shoes a little thicker with more cushion for us big guys. Besides that I think those are dam good leather shoes !!
Hey Richard! Thank you for sharing your feedback. Feel free to shoot us an email at teamthursday@thursdayboots.com directly. We always love to hear new suggestions!
Immediately in love with these sneakers! I really like CXL and my favorite boots in my collection make use of their waxed rough out. These are going to be a great get
I'm not sure where all the reviews on Thursday's website come from, since even though I bought the sneakers I'm not allowed to review them on the product page. After I got them I realized they have one really bad design mistake: The top of the backstay curves upward and over your heel entirely, so when you walk it fiercely rubs against your heel and sticks into where your Achilles tendons are. It makes them hellish to walk in, even for just a very short distance.
Yesterday I received my first pair of Thursday Boot men's white premier low top sneakers and so far I do like them. But I've noticed some differences with materials and the made in country (Portugal). The tongue is double leathered with padding in between, beneath the insole is a squishy white material. I was just curious as to what these materials may be. Because of your video I purchased a pair for myself and my wife. Thanks again, great work.
I just bought this sneaker in the black matte colorway, and it's seriously the best looking leather sneaker I've ever seen. I've worn them once and so far they're very comfortable and minimal to break in.
Thursday's rock! I have some Captain boots, some wingtip shoes and (since yesterday) - some white sneakers from them. Great quality at great prices! Thanks for a great review!
Thank you for this review. Thursday are the best pair of boots I've ever owned. I have two pair. now I'm torn because I wanted to buy another pair of boots but these are some really cool looking sneakers...
I got these exact sneakers about a month ago… the wide size. Awesome unique leather. Super squeaky. For me long break-in time and hurt my pinky toes. A few days in a shoe stretcher has helped with the pinky toe issues. Super informative videos. thankyou
What I would really like to see from Thursday is a semi-casual mix of 1461 Oxford Shoe, Coronado Oxford Shoe, and this sneaker. Kinda "I want to wear something more than just a sneaker but not as heavy and bulky as Martens". You can find some of those quasi-casual Oxfords on Asos; however, I highly doubt that those products are any good, considering the price that they are being sold for.
these look like a decent value. I like the color you disected the most. thanks man, I just bought a pair of solovaire boots in the crazy horse after watching your video and now I am pretty sure I picked out my summer shoes for next year off this one. Good stuff.
First, I've never written a negative review before in my life. However, I'm so frustrated by my experience as a Canadian buyer of Thursday boot company's shoes, I'm compelled to copy and paste this everywhere that I can. Of course, their website doesn't actually welcome real reviews; so I'll assume that the ones on their site are fake/ or cherry picked; 55k+ and all 5 star reviews right, ya right! My Experience: I live in Canada where they offer free shipping - and recently ordered from them for the first time. I ordered 2 pairs of sneakers - both size 12, one brown and one white. The brown pair fit me like a regular size 12 shoe always does, the white pair was significantly larger. So much larger that you could tell just by looking at them they weren't the same size. I reached out to the support team to see if they would do anything to waive their "international exchange fees" as this exchange would've been unavoidable! How would i know that 2 size 12 shoes from them could fit so differently. After a lot of back and forth they finally agreed to cover their fees for the exchange. I thought that this meant they'd cover all the fee's associated with the exchange, but i was wrong.. they meant they'd only cover their "exchange fee" of $25. As a "one-time courtesy" without acknowledging the flaws in their sizing. They instructed me to follow the return process on the site, and they would re-imburse me for the fees incurred and process my exchange order through their site when they received my return info. Their process does not initiate a return shipping label. Instead, they ask you to ship the package yourself. I decided to go to Canada Post and send it with their least expensive option that included tracking. $75! (pretty expensive, but what other option do I have?) So I sent them the receipt and asked to be re-imbursed for these fees - Long story short, they won't do it and now I'm awaiting a new pair of white sneakers in an 11.5. Who knows if they'll even fit. But in any case, as an international buyer you can't buy through a shoe company that has such a terrible policy on returns and exchanges AND cant get their sizes consistent. STAY AWAY is you don't live in the US. Or you will risk expensive and frustrating exchange and returns - even if you know your own size / have Thursday Boot shoes or boots that fit already - ordering in the same size and style again, they may not fit.
I bought a pair of these exact sneakers... at least partially because of the positive review they received. I have had them 8 months. They look great, are comfortable and I have enjoyed wearing them. The issue I have with them now is that the soles are worn out. The soles are wearing through at the heals and the soles are now treadless in the forefoot. Given the state of the leather in these shoes they should have a lot more life left in them... but economically it seems they are not worth resoling. Being totally honest, I was expecting more use out of them before needing to deal with worn out soles.. and the cost of replacing them.
You know I'm not really a fancy sneaker type of person ... I have Chucks and some shitty Sketchers but this is the first sneaker in your whole series that I have considered buying ... and not just because they are cheap! 😁
Awesome video. I hope Thursday appreciates the good press, and you just need to keep doing what you’re doing. This is a guilty pleasure channel for me for sure.
I just received my Thursday Sneakers yesterday. The laces are not leather but that's okay with me. So far they are very comfortable but I haven't walked very far in them yet.
Really glad we got your take in these. I have a feeling we will see improvements on this first iteration. In the past they have made changes based on customer feedback. I’d love to see your take on some of Thursday’s boot offerings.
I'm at the other end of the spectrum. Been hearing about them for a while (have a pair of boots from their Black Label Collection that they used to have), and sneakers aren't my thing. But man, these are really nice. I'm considering the natural chromexcel version, but I'd really like it if they made a high top version.
I agree with every point. I got these about 6 months ago. Cringed at you cutting the laces. Didn't even realize until now that yes, the counter is impressive. They refuse to be squished. I've worn them nearly every day for 6 months and have been pretty rough (okay VERY rough) on them. They've been through everything from skateboarding to hiking, with me constantly forcing them on with a shoehorn before untying them. They wear into a very rugged look with the waxed flesh. The liner at the ankle has torn a bit from the shoehorning, but you can't tell when I'm wearing them. One or two stray thread ends. No squeaks, great fit, and somehow those laces have lasted despite every other shoe lace I have snapping with less than half the wear. With some shoe trees and a bit of conditioner every once in a while, they keep chugging on squeak-free in that sweet, subdued, rugged style.
Gotta admit I assumed they were a shitty Instagram brand because they advertised there and I read some bad reviews, but this has convinced me to check them out. I'd love to see you cut up a Dalgado sneaker! Similar in looks. I can't really justify getting a Thursday cause I already have a v similar looking Dalgado, so be great to know if my choice was the right one lol
Got an e-mail from Thursday today that my size was available. I ordered them within a few minutes if receiving the e-mail... same size and color as deconstructed in the video. Anxious to try them out! Gave Rose Anvil a shout out in the ordering process too!
@@Mikex87 I like them! I posted another comment about a week ago on the experience... We've had some dry weather this past week so I've worn them a lot more. They are pretty well broken in now but the tongue still needs a bit more. I'm going to put more White's Boots leather preservative on the tongue to help it along. I particularly like the fact that the leather form fits my foot rather than depending on padding for the fit. As such I anticipate them remaining comfortable long after padding would have broken down.
Got myself a pair of these. A couple of scratches caught my eye right out of the box. It appears that Horween leather is susceptible to minor scratch factors like a gentle fingernail depression. @Rose Anvil is this something that can be easily maintained?
WHITE SNEAKER FINALE TOMORROW!!! Leave a comment here if there’s something specific you want me to cover.
How about a white pair of Salvatore Ferragamo Sneakers!? I like the brand a lot but wonder if the price is worth the purchase?

What about Greats and Idrese? The good thing about Idrese is that they have an option for a wide last, and that is rare in these shoes. I think Crown Northampton is the only other company to offer this. They also allow a lot of customization. As a wide foot folk, I’m very interested in the Idrese offering. Thanks, I love your channel cause you give us the real look at these shoes

Mexico made is the difference. Some made in Italy stuff is just overpriced hype.
Usually those aren’t even really made in Italy either
I live in Italy and they only brought in Chinese sweatshop workers to make stuff in Italy. True craftsmen are found in small local shops here, none of the big shit.
@@anglishbookcraft1516 how do we find those small local shops online and, can they ship to USA?
Definitely that is the difference, there are various of Mexican small producers that make shoes just like these at even better price, I think Thursday is expanding this type of merchandise with their name.
I do love my Thursdays. My sole came funky, and Thursday offered to replace them, or pay to have them resoled. I got them resole (they were fine otherwise), and even the cobbler was impressed by them. Cool they're making shoes now, too
Shout out to the homie, Tyler. Hope for a rapid recovery.
Thanks. I am on the up and up. So I should be back to editing this week hopefully.
This whole carona thing was suspect.
“They emailed me on Thursday...”
Does Thursday only do business on Thursdays? 🤣
.....................yes
😂😂😂
We do business every day but we do our best business on Thursdays :)
@@Thursdayboots NO. it's boots you can ONLY wear on thursdays. Don't even try on other days
I ordered my Thursday boots on Amazon and smiled when the tracking said "arriving Thursday"
LOL
Hi John how do you find the sizing, is it true to size and do you have enough space in the toe box etc? :)
Thanks for the detail. How about wearing them in the summer, don't they get too hot above 90F?
@@albertoclonado That hasn't been an issue. I find my New Balance sneakers to be far worse... all the foam padding and man made materials serve to insulate and hold the heat in! The leather uppers on the Thursday sneakers don't do that.
How was the color, dark brown almost black?
Ya it’s pretty amazing stuff, lots of people try to replicate it but it’s hard to beat the original
trickers does something like this...
@@RoseAnvil Can you re-sole these? I heard from other people you can't.
@@joverificonot really cost effective to resole $130 shoes
I have a pair of Thursday boots and I highly recommend them. They're very comfortable and look great.
I have Thursday Diplomat in Burnt Copper and Thursday Court in clay. Love them both
Kudos to RA for finally giving people a good resource to find quality shoes.

Facts
Can you do a video comparing women’s boots to men’s boots? I’ve seen a lot of your videos about the breakdown in construction in the men’s boots but I’m curious if they make the women’s boots differently
I have 4 pairs of greats and I wear them for work and play and I am blown away with Thursday leather quality and comfort, best bang for the buck.
Oh those look clean! First time I've winced at you cutting apart a pair of the sneakers. Thanks for the vid!
These are beautiful. They look like the quintessential minimalist sneaker for me. The all white ones, the tan, the dark brown pair are all a must.
I just received these today and they are great! Felt uncomfortable for about 2 minutes because of the thick leather but already started feeling great after that. The leather also smells so good! Super high quality.
How are they now ? Are they true to size ?
Thanks to you, I discovered so many high-quality shoe brands!
I wish your editor speedy recovery.
@@InsolentVillager Running sneaker are a different category of shoe designed for a different movement so yeah, of course they are more comfortable.
Now this is really impressive for the price.
Best shoes under 200 id say.
@@roveradventures - I'm thinking of getting the cacaos. I would've immediately bought the white ones, but I already bought some Beckett Simonon Reids (which I haven't even worn yet).
As all of their boots are. I have their captains and Chelsea’s and they’re all legit good quality at $200
So glad you agree :)
@Kevin E Looking forward to having you a part of Team Thursday!
@Dahlia Scura Well, usually it's relative not to China but to Spain or Portugal for these kinds of leather shoes/boots.
@Dahlia Scura Any other country you say? How about North Korea? Help finance the Kim Dynasty and his missile program?
Just got mine yesterday. Well worth the restock wait! Thursday’s are the best
Good looking shoe and the value is outstanding. Great job Thursday..
How comfy are they?
This sneaker is just oozing leather, I love it. I recently got a pair of Allen Edmonds sneakers but now i want to get a pair of Thursdays, seams worth it for the price
You're going to love them :) Looking forward to having you a part of the team! Best, Kendra from Thursday
Thank you for review! i got a pair of the white sneaker from Thursday b/c of your review! my pair said it was made in Portugal

It would be interesting to see a dress shoe be cutted in half!
yes please. When I bought my first penny loafers, I fell in love with leather and bumped to this channel. I would love to see dress shoes in half. I was hoping to see some in moctober, but the previews showed was all boots though.
Agreed. Could even do some of the Thursday dress shoes. Wouldn't mind seeing their loafers reviewed.
Yes. For example a pair of Carminas or Meermins.

@@RoseAnvil Finally. Something for men of culture.
Thanks for this video! I just bought some Thursday boots last week because of your other videos and I saw they just released sneakers and was hoping you'd make a video on it. Will definitely pick up a pair now, they look great!

hey adam, did you buy these shoes? If so can you provide your thoughts please!
Bagged me this exact colorway/leather option. Have to say I love them.
Yes I couldn’t wait for him to review this shoe
This isn’t a review. It’s a sponsored video.
Love your videos. I came to see Thursday boot reviews but stayed to learn more about leather quality than I ever would have. Thank you!
This is great! Glad they made a sneaker and you got to review it! Keep up the good work man! Happy Sunday
With your video review... you SOLD me on getting these vs the common projects.
I love my Thursday Captain boots!
I don't know how you do your job. I am fascinated and heartbroken at the same time whenever I watch. Mad respect.
I'm on the wait list for that colorway now!
Cheers!
Are they comfortable out of the box? Or with the thick leather will there be a big break in period?
Yes your assumptions are correct but since it's only a low shoe it won't be as uncomfortable as a leather boot thats covering your ankle or a dress shoe with a leather sole.
T Whip back at it again with a top comment! Ya it will be a little stiff at first but Horween’s Chromexcel is a really easy leather to break in. That’s why I use it for my camera harnesses actually, it’s a really good combination of strength and flexibility.
only took me one time use to break in em.

Ha ha everyone has been telling me to stop this series until this video. Maybe I will do a let two next year

@@RoseAnvil OMG YOU ANSWERED ME? thank you so much your videos are the best

Thank you very much for all of your reviews! Im hooked to your channel amd I learned a lot from it.
So cool! I love Thursday boots and even more after seeing these.
We appreciate all your support :)
these look like a decent value. I like the color you disected the most. thanks man, I just bought a pair of solovaire boots in the crazy horse after watching your video and now I am pretty sure I picked out my summer shoes for next year off this one. Good stuff.
It would be nice to do Beckett Simonon too, but their stuff is made to order
First, I've never written a negative review before in my life. However, I'm so frustrated by my experience as a Canadian buyer of Thursday boot company's shoes, I'm compelled to copy and paste this everywhere that I can. Of course, their website doesn't actually welcome real reviews; so I'll assume that the ones on their site are fake/ or cherry picked; 55k+ and all 5 star reviews right, ya right!
My Experience:
I live in Canada where they offer free shipping - and recently ordered from them for the first time.
Damn, well Thursday should sponsor more often because this just sold me to replace and upgrade my aging leather sneakers
Way to go Thursday and you for such a quick response and great video. These sneakers appear to be a great value.
I'd love to have a pair of these on hand. Wonderful build.
Rubber, leather, and foam. Not sure what I was expecting but I watched it. Good work. I have 3 pairs of Thursday boots.
I love Thursday Boots! I have three pairs. 100% recommend!
May I ask which is the most comfortable? Something I can wear for 7 or more hours per day.
I'll be looking for these to come out in a high top. Preferably black with a black sole. (You know...Incase Thursday is reading the comments)
Thanks for the good work on your channel. I’ve been impressed with Thursday boots, so I’m now willing to try those same sneakers...
first time ive heard of this company and these are exactly my style.
You can always buy the Vans version.
I'm at the other end of the spectrum. Been hearing about them for a while (have a pair of boots from their Black Label Collection that they used to have), and sneakers aren't my thing. But man, these are really nice. I'm considering the natural chromexcel version, but I'd really like it if they made a high top version.
SO glad you found us :)
How’d they turn out for you?
@@Mikex87 I like them! I posted another comment about a week ago on the experience... We've had some dry weather this past week so I've worn them a lot more. They are pretty well broken in now but the tongue still needs a bit more. I'm going to put more White's Boots leather preservative on the tongue to help it along. I particularly like the fact that the leather form fits my foot rather than depending on padding for the fit. As such I anticipate them remaining comfortable long after padding would have broken down.
Those are really nice looking shoes. Love all that Horween leather goodness. 👍
Thursday always nails it on the head. I have 6 pairs of Thursday boots and love them all.
Fantastic breakdown, thank you! Could you do a breakdown of their captain boot?
Just got myself 3 pairs! Wells see how it goes, I’m glad they are trying to be HONEST about their profit and costs.
Got myself a pair of these. A couple of scratches caught my eye right out of the box. It appears that Horween leather is susceptible to minor scratch factors like a gentle fingernail depression. @Rose Anvil is this something that can be easily maintained?
