As a Latin American (most exactly Costa Rican) i can say this is complettly absurd. I love the old desing and I dont feel "ofendido" because, ITS A FREAKING GAME. I become a little bit sad when i realizing that Americans who fell "heroes of the world" have more power of the decisions of an ethnic comunity than the comunity itself.

Prob count as controversial take due to how many people liking the old design. But In my opinion SOME people take it to the extreme/too dramatic about it from what i saw before in Mowzie discord. I mean i get the old design is very iconic (Which i also like), but the change isnt really that super bad tbh, The gameplay remain the same as the old ones, Old barakoa weapon (Spear and such) becoming craftable, and we literally got 2 new abilities for the sun blessing weapon. Shit, I personally would take that over nothing lol
Honestly, while it is sad to see the Barakoa go, I much prefer the Umvuthana.
The problem it's not the desing (in my opinion it's soooo good), the problem is the context of the change of desing. It's very similar than Disney when launch "Oye primos" and the controversy of the "good supremacy".

@@niconekozilla People complained that the Barakoa were based off racist stereotypes, so Mowzie decided to change them.

I can appreciate the redesigns more now in action, I like how the preists take off their masks to shine the healing beam and umvuthi's mask opens up for the solar beam. In general all the animations looks smoother and cooler, only one that looks off to me is the mask summoning one since umvuthi's beak mouth is smaller and it's more noticeable that the masks just "appear"
Well, the new design appears not very good to me. The reason why this change was made is also ridiculous. But this I can tolerate as long as it stays the same as the old Barako the sun chief in terms of abilities and gameplay.
Theyre still the same in terms of gameplay and abilities.All Barako attack is still there, Barakoaya still exist and heal the Barako, Barakoa still attack by surrounding player.
i personally love the new design, and we even got 2 new abilities for the suns blessing

I definitely like this new design more, the old one was iconic but the "humanoid" design never really fit vanilla that well

I'll miss Barako he was my favorite one
People were too extreme about the old design that they had to change it these type of people need a chill pill the mod wasn’t trying to be racist why are people devolving into snowflakes I’m gonna miss the old one but I understand why they had to change it so people would calm down and the bird design isn’t too bad

The name was changed to a play on the words "duende" in another language and the current one is a play on the words "bird" in another language.

It will be the design going forward, but in older versions the Barakoa will remain since Mowzie doesn't backport.

@@niconekozilla I`ve talked to the author on Discord -- he was pointed out that the Barakoans are very similar to some hurtful stereotypes about various native peoples. While I don`t necessarily agree, I do like the birds more!
@@stolyartoad8640 I personally love barakoans, they're part of my world; and the new mobs while they look very fine, I don't feel that they fit as well as barakoans do, but this is just my opinion. It is what it is I guess, I will grow accustomed to them.

Theyre actually working on a new mob before, but halted cause theyre working on barakoa revamp. Next mob gonna be the Sculptor, which gonna give player an access to earth artifact in the survival

Not yet, I think the Sculptor is going to be added before they start porting to newer versions. Then again that could be outdated information, so take it with a grain of salt.

The mutant skeleton always die while the others mutants survive, but oh boi that today the tables have turns, and if sb dint forget about mutant enderman, i dont think he would survive, becase he loses to mutant zombie, and he got beat up by the sun bird, so yeah mutant skeleton finally got the stoplight that he wanted...

Only the most up to date version of Mowzie's, 1.18.2, since Mowzie doesn't backport.

The reason for the redesign is some people took issue with the Barakoa for being based off of racist stereotypes. The Ferrous Wroughtnaut and Frostmaw should be fine.
