Hey guys, one thing I forgot to mention in this video is that the MPC One had the ProTen engaged in the settings. Hope you guys enjoyed this video, Let us know down in the comments which machine you guys thought sounded better. Blessings to you guys and gals 🙏🏽
XL sounded better after 10 bpm change. Overall the ONE sounded better after 30 bpm change. It should. It's new technology...but the old school still has that classic sound that most producers look for.👍. Great comparison video!!
Hey Ave, thank you for dropping by. Yea I love my 2kxl but ever since I got the MPC ONE the 2kxl is just collecting dust but I promised myself to never sell it lol. Blessings to you brother.
Thank you for the video, hermano. I really couldn't notice much of a difference, but I am a newbie and I am hearing the sounds through an older laptop PC. Felizades por los nueve mil subscribers! Bendiciones!
Hey what’s up brother, yes honestly it was very difficult to hear a difference it’s so minor I had a listen to it a few times myself they both do a pretty good job one versus the other. And thank you so much for the support 🙏🏽
Hey brother thank you for this input. Yea it’s so hard to tell the difference they sound so close. Yea some people were leaning more towards the MPC ONE . Thank you for this message brother 🙏🏽🙏🏽
I can CLEARLY hear the TRANSIENTS better on the 2000XL.. The MPC One is shaving off the transients significantly (giving the illusion of clarity)! Listen for the hi-hat and side stick hits! Night and day... 2000XL for the W!
Hey brotha, it’s funny you mention that because I thought the same thing once I posted the video I’m sure it’s a difference i’m just not sure how big of a difference it would be but it’s an interesting thought though. Blessing brotha 🙏🏽
MPC 2000XL my favourite machine. But are you guys listening? The stretching algorithm in the MPC 2000XL is not the greatest. Noticable stretching nuances in the sound. Only good for a few bPMs. Anything more on the XL destroys your sample and makes it sound like granular synthesis. The ONE is 10 times smoother when using the ProTen setting.
Hey brother, thank you so much for this inside.I love hearing both sides some people preferred the XL and some other people prefer the one and these are some great valid reasons. Again thank you so much for taking the time and checking out the video brother. Blessings
hello Malo you can make a tuto on workflow with 3 sequences(verse etc) dupplicate ,events for make a tune with variation filter sample for exemple MERCI
Omg I never used the time stretch. Sooo many options on the X that I forgot it's there. I warp. Buttttt, it does sound un natural once I go 20 bpm down . It's no Serato. I wish Mpcx would implement Serato algo.
Do you ever get an issue on the mpc one when time stretching where the original bpm on the time stretch menu never reads the same bpm that the actual sample shows in the program edit. I have an mpc live 2 latest software and I always get that issue.
Hey Aaron, yes I’ve had that issue a few times but all I do is go back to the sample and press on the detect BPM button and most of the time it resets the BPM to the correct one and that usually works for me.
Two things: 1. The MPC One sounds better. That 2K just adds too much digital artifacts. 2. You need to turn your mic gain down on your vocal Rhodes mic. You’re distorting - it’s too hot.
I watch with headphones. In the stretch you could hear at 50bpm there are some noises in the mpc one. Anyway i like it. But could you show how to warp samples in a next video?
i personally don't like the clean digital sound or the digital artefacts that appear on the one , it distorts the piano notes ... also i notice a big difference when you just pitch down a sample on them both, the xl retains better lower frequency when you pitch down. doesn't bother me too much but i do wish the one had the old cyclic choppy timestreach algorithm option
Hi and thank you for this request that is a brilliant idea and sounds like fun. I’ll definitely work on something similar to this. Thank you so much for the request
Hey brotha Thank you for the feedback and I will do a follow up video showing the warp function so chop the same loop up and put a bid on top to see what we can come up with. Thank you for taking your time and checking out the video
Hey brother, I agree 100% with this I also felt that the 2000 XL felt and sounded a bit warmer as I kept listening to these two audio clips I keep leaning more towards the 2000 XL.
Does anyone have the same issue that you can't time stretch an individual chop? For me, time stretch only shows up when selecting "all" chops. I have one slow chop that I need to speed up but when selecting that specific slice, time stretch does not come up as an option.
Absolutely that’s where I noticed the biggest difference on the higher frequencies and I definitely have to give it to the XL when it comes down to those higher frequencies.
Hey Abel thank you. Thank you for dropping by. Well depending on you want to approach it you can use a few snare hits and hit the note repeat to create some interesting fills or Just use some drum fill samples. I’m sure there are a few other ways of doing it also
Bro... is the MPC on standard or ProTen time-stretch algorithm? There is a huge difference in quality between the two. ProTen uses more CPU and sounds better.
the old MPC's ike the 2000xl and 3000 sound so much warmer than all these new MPC's . Can't make that 90s boombap sound on the new MPC's. It's like hearing the difference between vinyl and cd's . Too bad the old MPC don't have the workflow of the new MPC's
Yeah it was very hard to notice a difference I had to play it back-and-forth a couple times myself. And same here I hardly use the time stretch future I tend to lean more towards the pitch knob if I want to match the temple which sounds amazing on the MPC’s
Yeah time stretch it’s pretty good when you’re in a pinch trying to match your BPM to your beat, I don’t use it as much only if I have to go a few BPM upper down but not too drastic it works pretty good.
@@malobeats People need to realise that in the mix these smaller differences can't be noticed. I am dissapointed that time stretch is a software feature and that it's sad that 20+ years later the MPC One/live/X doesn't perform better. Since it's software they should do much better job. Ableton seems to do a much better job and this is due to better coding.
@@Neucougar Apples to Oranges when comparing 2 MPCs ?? Yeah that sure is a smart observation ...... Some agree and hear the same, some don't and that's their personal opinion. I am NOT hearing any major differences, let alone you would hear it in the mix.

Damn that converter sound on the MPC 2000XL. Creaaamy.
Yes, I’m also feeling the 2000 XL
I think XL sounds better for the first -10 BPMs. Anything lower than that, the MPC One processes it best.
Great observation, yeah it’s so close it’s so hard to decide the difference I had to listen to it a few times myself
Great video! I'm so jelly you have the MPC 2000XL

Great, I was really curious what this would sound like. Thank you!
i always time stretch in serato and sample straight into the mpc💯
I disagree . I hear the bit rate on the mpc one sounding smoother and with more clarity the mpc 2000xl sounds more gritty.
Hey brother thank you for this input. Yea it’s so hard to tell the difference they sound so close. Yea some people were leaning more towards the MPC ONE . Thank you for this message brother 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Yes the sound is like dirty on Mpc 2000xl I like a clean sound on my mpc one

There is a difference btw when stretching from 80 to 60 than from 80 to 70 to 60 cause every process carries over to the next process.

Barely noticeable but I have to agree with you 100% . XL took that

no the 2000xl does NOT have warmth or a sound to it. I can confirm this as an owner of the unit. Only mpc that has a good sound is the 3k 60 and 60mk2

Hi mate. My MCP Live 2 doesn’t have the time stretch function. Have you found this issue?

Original temple?
Seemed like the rim shot was a little choppy at 50 on the XL The One kept it cleaner. In my ears at least…
