I had to talk today about "tipster" who thinks I am a "grifter". he recently decided that i'm not defending video games because I like them, but because I'm trying to "Grift" the way he grifts the left.
I wanted to talk about my opinion of him as a person as well as talk about some of the points he makes in my response video.

As a trans girl I 100% agree that these extremist are ruining video games, we aren't all psychotic loonies, it's really an embarrassment that these twitter people think they deserve to be the face of any representation. You are absolutely in the right here. What Tipster as well as Barney on Twitter/X demonstrated is cult like behavior , where the split second you agree with the "other side" on anything, you are deemed a traitor. This cult like behavior effectively tries to use manipulation tactics to forbid anyone to think for themselves. As a moderate who likes to be objective and listen to all perspective before making his mind on any topic, It's one of the things I hate the most about politics. Freedom to think and freedom to disagree, always. Your take was the right one.

Same, because I am centre (centre left actually) I am basically seen as an Alt Right Nazi by the left/far left and I am also seen as a Woke libtard by the right/far right... we get the worst of both worlds.
In my own experiences though the right wing have been far more tolerant than the left so if I open up politically I tend to open up politically to right wingers which is kinda crazy since I am closer to left wing beliefs than right wing... but they tend to treat me like an actual person with opinions instead of a fascist lol.

I don't like or agree with the way boogie is speaking but I have mad respect for him choosing to live authentically . Abraisive and angry with a slightly narcissistic argument is way better than fake nice any day. Respect always boogie even if I disagree.

Games can be fun AND have some form of political background. Hell, Final Fantasy 7 is pretty much about a big corporation polluting the earth for profit. It still had some form of politics to it, but was a GOOD GAME.

If we are going to call games art, we cannot objectively claim that video games must only be fun. If you consider games to only be a hobby, this sentiment is perfectly fine and applicable to you. However, if you consider Video Games to be art, you must understand that not every game should be fun. Games as art should challenge your own point of view, not just on a political basis, but on a psychological or philosophical basis.
All previous mediums before Video Games have done this. Even as far back as the ancient world have we seen political art. However, not every piece of art should and needs to be political. This includes Video Games.
“Non-political” games are still here and are likely not going anywhere. However, you can still find meaning in Video Games without actually have any meaning in its programming. Boogie said in his documentary that he sees himself and his struggles in Pac-Man.
I think “Anti-Woke” RUclipsrs have mangled media literacy to the point where we care less about how games effect us and more how they effect our beliefs.
I've been closely watching tipsters demise for a while now and it's been glorious...

Good video games can be woke invisibly. There are so many progressive things in video games, even down to the fact that playing as a male or female in most games have no differences. In cyberpunk you can be trans whichever way you want but no one got outraged over it. A good game with good progressivism will have it effectively invisible, part of the world you're in. Hamfisting progressivism in place of fun won't make people want to identify with your politics, but a good story where they politics support the character rather than exist to drive the character make for great games.

The original gamergate happened roughly in 2016 . Journalist were sleeping with game creators and writing positive articles ( conflict of interest) . Also they were giving awards to game creators they slept with.

I generally sit on the right in politics and even I agree that videos games are supposed to be fun. I don’t want pandering ANY side when I’m playing a game, unless it’s an integral part of the story and not an obvious check mark on the political to do list.
