I find that Regal records were well recorded and pressed well too. Very nice 1924 performance with all the contemporary 1924 gimmicks that got recorded by bands back then.
Thank You so much! I fell in love with this beautiful label when I was a kid, and 52 Records were given to me, (I used to DREAM of owning a few 78 rpm records when I was very young!) the first one I saw was BANNER by Irving Kaufman "Tonight You Belong To Me" then 4 Regal records followed, the first one I saw was Regal 9355 by Lanin's Southern Serenaders "I'm Just Wild About Harry" -"Good Mornin'" - Brunswick's Victor's, Cameo's! I was in heaven! I found this one later on about two years later in the same town, Dardanelle Arkansas! I have been hooked on Regal records since, I just LOVE the way they look, not too much in design or label art, but they have a look all their own! I find that the pre 1926 Regal are of very good quality! This one was well played and worn out, but still sounds quite good!
Very nice! Apparently, this is the only version on record. However, there’s also a very nice new version by „Jeff Barnhart and his Hot Rhythm“ that’s worthy of a listen!
Referring to the title of this brilliant side, i would say this performance is eloquently telling why it is so remarkable :-) Nathan Glantz, definitely in great form, is offering us a fantastic, quite virtuosic and hot version of this jazzy Fats Waller tune and arrangement. Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank You so much! I truly LOVE melodies like this, and Fats Waller coined a huge amount of FANTASTIC songs indeed! I got this little gem along with the next upload I posted -"PLEADING" by Roy Collins' Orchestra!
Thats a great record and another huge thumbs up for Nathan Glantz! Interesting as you say that the sound gets rough around the middle. (no big deal by the way) In my experience, most records are rough at the begining, mostly by careless needle drops or overplaying the start and taking off the needle cos they dont like it (i'm guessing here)
Thank You Martin! Yes it is strange that this as well as my other upload "Evening Star" starts out clean then gets rough towards the middle to end! I believe that it is due to being the last owners love of a certain solo or part of the record and they repeatedly played it over and over again, making these arias rougher!
Wonderful Glantz dance record!
Great to hear an early Fats Waller tune! Andy Razaf wrote great stuff with Fats. Thanks for sharing!

How interesting that Fats was composing this early. Thanks for sharing this gem!
Thank You! Yes it is wonderful to see Fats Waller's name on such an early record, I believe I have some even earlier!

Date, please?
It says on the label September 12th 1924! That is the date I found on the discogerphy site!
@@bobbyroy84 Thank you!
