- The ALL NEW Collings CJ-45 Traditional
As with all of their Traditional Series guitars, when it came time to add a “T” designation to our slope-shoulder offerings, they didn’t simply tweak the original; the all-new Collings CJ-45 T is a fully re-imagined instrument that offers a distinct tonal variation when compared to the CJ and CJ-35 models.
Strongly vintage-inspired, the body construction has been completely
re-engineered, including new bracing carves and patterns. When combined with their latest T-Series neck design and new CJ-45 neck profile, the result showcases a tone that is exceptionally dry and fundamental with the growl and thump sought after in the great slope-shoulder dreads of the Wartime era.
Here's Jesse with @missouriboy66 and his CJ-45 T. Reach out to us TODAY to reserve one of our CJ-45s on order! More info at the links below!

Wow. Just wow! Drop dead gorgeous looking and sounding guitar. I live in Texas and have a Texas made Collings City Limits Deluxe. Goal is to have a Collings acoustic someday. Folks if you’ve never been in the presence of a Collings guitar, the build quality on them is second to none.
Hahaha southern Canada 😄 Ontario I assume. I also just found out about Bob Minner. It’s all I’ve been watching lately. What ever he plays sounds fantastic. Thanks for the video
It's amazing that Bob's playing always feels very relaxed, but there's so much to hear in every phrase.😎👍
Jesse's reaction to the awesome chord progression at ~3:30 is the best. Thanks for sharing this preview of the CJ-45!
Haha! Glad you enjoyed it!
What a thrill to see the legendary Bob Minner at Artisan!
Thanks guys!
What many consider a “big” neck is appropriate. Small necks were an aberration that became standard, to the negative. Glad appropriate is back!
amen. what in the world happened with these razor thin necks like bourgeois or the martin low profile? maybe for some but i dunno...
@@rblanks2050 Thick necks are fine if you don't play in anything but the first position, or have big hands with long fingers. They did not bother me even up the neck when I was young. (Nothing bothered me about guitars when I was young.) They do now. And Martin's "modified low oval" (for example) with the flat (16") fretboard radius I find a painful combination for playing "thumb over". If you learned to form Barre chords "properly" a flat fretboard won't annoy you. But most of us didn't take lessons in the old days.
Have an old D2H I bought original in 1990. Love her, but she definitely can be Shrill. I’ve learned to really to appreciate the warmth & Woodsy sounds from Some other builders. Really nice to hear something that Woody and Rich, while still having clarity when required, coming from Collings. Of course, the Artist is a master of tone, which sure don’t hurt! Beautiful.
Oh and also love Bobs comment on not installing a pickup. Collings acoustic guitars are works of art and shouldn’t be changed in any way. Just my opinion.
Yo, Jesse!!!! This is awesome!!!! Bob's album, Solo, is just sublime. Been listening to it a shit-ton over the last couple of weeks. Listening to this on some good headphones, and boy oh boy, it sounds amazing!!!! Thanks Bob and Jesse!!!
Bob is a member of the Collings user group and sometimes will post a tune. Special occasion when he does. The new album is awesome and the CJ45, in his hands al least, is just beautiful.
The tone is to die for and simply sublime. This guitar you could play classical to rock and it would hand most in between. Really sweet allows so much expression and tonal control. Thanks!
That was a nice treat! I can see why there is so much appeal for slope shoulder D's. Love that particular style/shading of burst as well. Thanks for pointing out the nickel - bronze D'Addario strings. Not sure how they would sound on my 00 for finger style but after this, I'll be sure to go get 'em for a test drive. Thanks again Jesse.
Bob's album is great and that guitar sounds fantastic. Nice one guys.
Thank you kindly!
Beautiful tone and excellent light touch.
Bob Minner & Collings jumbo bell = AWESOME 🎼. "Solo" album really GREAT 🎼
Oh yeah, just found the best sounding and looking acoustic guitar ever made, just sublime and beautifully played 😊
Not that I don’t love the previous videos.... but that was awesome.
Glad to hear it!
That's a fine-sounding guitar, and loud!
Good show folks ! Guess I'm gonna buy his record.
That guitar sounds magnificent, I wouldn’t put a pickup on it either!
This guitar looks amazing
Amazing guitar
That guitar sounds awesome
I use the nickel-bronze on my OM2HT, it's the best... I think Julian Lage uses them as well...excellent strings...
I use the Nickel on my D2H, keeps the overtones from overtaking everything
Older video, glad I seen it, Beautiful Guitar, this guy can play the strings off any guitar 🎸 he picks up, one of the best, plays with a lot of feeling, can you tell me the name of the first tune he played, excellent video.
Lovely guitar!
I like big necks, I can not lie. :)
Nice touch !
I have a CJ 41 from 1996. How would it differ from this CJ 45
Perfect!
@Bob Minner You sold me on the Nickel Bronze and I JUST put them on my C10 and it's a game-changer! My friend Bryan @bryan.jones.debris is a tech for Tim McGraw and has been encouraging me to get them for months and after this video, I did! Great job!
What’s the very last song he plays
How about a microphone for the dude on the right?
Sing…so nicely done Jesus
I bet if they sat and talked for an hour or two Bob would pick up a Canadian accent. Ha Ha
Correction: "Da-dario"
You did this on my birthday...was hoping you might send me that 45 as a gift. Life is full of disappointment
Collings, you need to stop this.
You avoid the top strings perhaps for good reason.
Can't believe such a niche builder copied Gibson so blatantly...
No wonder the court cases flow in abundance.
Anyway just my 2C
This is a beautiful sounding guitar no matter what name it is,Every guitar brand has a beautiful sounding guitar if you can be lucky enough to find it,I want to hear it without a capo.
Okay heard it without a capo still a beautiful sounding guitar
