  • Conduction is the transfer of energy from the more energetic particles of a substance to the adjacent less energetic ones as a result of interaction between particles. Convection is the transfer of energy between a solid surface and the adjacent fluid that is in motion, and it involves the combined
    effects of conduction and fluid motion. Radiation is the transfer of energy due to the emission of electromagnetic waves.

      In general, the purpose is heat exchanger that helps to exchange heat from (cold or heat) to (heat or cold).

      -ve sign indicates heat flow from high temperature to low temperature eg:assume two temp values as500K & 400 K
      500K
      400K
      If u draw a line from 500K to 400K line will be of decreasing direction so ly we are introducing -ve sign there because as per heat transfer is concerned heat always flows from high temperature (500 K ) to low temperature (400 K)
      Hope you will be clear with my explanation.😉

      Free stream temperature is the temperature of fluid external from body & interfaced at outer surfaces. Free stream means it is unaffected by any ways like velocity or temperature from contact with solid bodies.

      Heat transfer between the different medium is convection. Solid to gas and also liquid to gas. Heat transfer between the same medium is conduction.

    How the radiation able to transfer at vacuum

    • @kaanagamlearning
      @kaanagamlearning  6 лет назад

      In vacuum already heat exists, so there is no need to transfer. Remain heat exists everywhere in space.

    Why radiation do not need any medium? I think the example of the radiation is sea breeze and land breeze...

    • @kaanagamlearning
      @kaanagamlearning  5 лет назад +1

      It's generally in wave forms. So medium is not need
