- A gorgeous wildflower hike near South Lake Tahoe!
In this video, I'm hiking to Winnemucca Lake from Carson Pass via the Pacific Crest Trail. Winnemucca Lake is located in El Dorado National Forest near Kirkwood, California.
At 5.1 miles round trip, the hike to Winnemucca Lake is relatively short and easy. Even though this hike is short, the scenery is nothing short of jaw-dropping. And, if you're looking for a summer wildflower hike near South Lake Tahoe, this is a great one.

I just got my first milky way ever at Caples on July 4th. That looks like a great area also for the MW with great scenery.

@@GabriellaViola you are right. Not gonna happen. I was scared hearing noises on 88 at 1am. lol I thought it was a bear making noises. Jumped in my truck and split lol

i thought about bringing the drone but figured it might disturb people, maybe if i went at sunrise and noone was there!

5.1 miles round trip...def an easy hike but good exercise!
Yeah, July is typically the right time for flowers in the high elevations due to the snow cover. The purple ones are known as Lupine, and the red ones are called Paintbrush. White ones look like they are from the Carrot family.
haha the carrot family! is that right?? I wasn't expecting to see so many, flowers it was such a beautiful hike...love that massive mountain the best though 💙💙
@@GabriellaViola Yes, plants are grouped or classified in Families based or shared characteristics. The plants in the Carrot family are known to have flowers arranged in a way which resembles an Umbrella like those white flowers.

I didnt go in but a friend said he did the other day and said it was freezing..i think there are lots of fish in there too
